Treatment Centers in Georgia That Accept CareSource

CareSource covers drug and alcohol rehab in Georgia across its Georgia Pathways, Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids plans, and for people on its Marketplace and Dual Advantage plans. It is the only current Georgia Families plan the state picked again in its December 2024 notice of intended contract awards.

The CareSource listings below rest on Georgia licensing data and government treatment registers, each naming the program’s settings of care and who accredits it. Drug and alcohol rehab for CareSource members is listed in Atlanta, Athens, Savannah, Rome and Valdosta, and in the canyon and lake country of North Georgia.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Does CareSource Cover Rehab in Georgia?

Yes. CareSource covers substance use treatment for Georgia Medicaid members, and its Georgia brochure lists inpatient withdrawal management, outpatient services, counseling, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient care, residential treatment and medications for addiction treatment. CareSource’s Georgia benefit pages add assessments and inpatient services for rehabs that take CareSource.

CareSource is a nonprofit managed care organization based in Dayton, Ohio, with its Georgia regional office in Atlanta. Here it runs Georgia Families plans for Pathways adults, Medicaid families, PeachCare children and Planning for Healthy Babies, plus Marketplace plans, Dual Advantage plans and a TRICARE demonstration, and manages behavioral health in-house across Georgia rehab programs.

Will CareSource stay in Georgia Medicaid?

Yes, as far as the state’s plans go. CareSource Georgia Co. was one of four plans the Georgia Department of Community Health chose in its December 2, 2024 notice, and the only sitting plan chosen again. While protests continue, its present contract runs through June 30, 2027, so Georgia Medicaid treatment options through CareSource stay open.

Does CareSource Cover Inpatient Rehab in Georgia?

Yes. Hospital-level care for mental health or substance use is a listed CareSource Georgia benefit, and its 2020 Georgia brochure includes residential treatment among substance use services. Medicaid members pay only the small state copay for an inpatient stay, and residential rehab that takes Medicaid is listed below.

Does CareSource need prior authorization for inpatient rehab?

Some services, yes. CareSource says the network provider requests prior authorization for the member, and emergency care never needs it. Its 2020 Georgia brochure required authorization for partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient care after 30 visits, and CareSource applies the ASAM Criteria when it weighs an addiction treatment request, with MCG guidelines used on the mental health side.

Does CareSource Dual Advantage cover inpatient rehab?

Yes. CareSource Dual Advantage, an HMO dual special needs plan in 97 Georgia counties for people with Medicare and full or partial Medicaid, charged nothing per day for inpatient psychiatric care in 2026, subject to Medicare’s 190-day lifetime limit in a psychiatric hospital. The plan also had no premium, deductible or out-of-pocket cost.

Does CareSource Cover Detox in Georgia?

Yes. CareSource’s Georgia Medicaid brochure lists inpatient acute withdrawal management among its substance use services, and the plan’s inpatient benefit for substance use covers the hospital stay. Detox programs that accept Medicaid are listed by city, and CareSource lists its Addiction Services Helpline, 1-833-674-6437, for Georgia members.

Does CareSource Cover Outpatient Rehab in Georgia?

Yes. CareSource Georgia covers talk therapy one-on-one, with family or in a group, and members can book many services with participating providers without a primary care referral. Teladoc Health offers virtual visits seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., at 1-800-835-2362, alongside outpatient addiction counseling in person.

CareSource also covers partial hospitalization for substance use disorder and, per its 2020 Georgia brochure, intensive outpatient care, with authorization needed only after 30 visits. Screening and brief intervention and psychiatry visits are on the same list, as are individual and group counseling, and IOP that takes Medicaid and Medicaid partial hospitalization are listed.

Does CareSource Cover Suboxone, Methadone and Other Addiction Medications?

Yes. CareSource’s Georgia Medicaid brochure lists buprenorphine, methadone, naloxone and Vivitrol, and medication-assisted treatment needed no prior authorization under that 2020 guide. Express Scripts hosts the Georgia pharmacy finder, and on one 2026 CareSource Marketplace formulary naltrexone tablets are Tier 1 while Vivitrol is Tier 4, for naltrexone programs on Medicaid.

Does CareSource cover methadone?

Yes. Methadone administration is on CareSource’s Georgia Medicaid substance use list, given at narcotic treatment programs licensed by the Department of Community Health. Under that state rule, no region may hold more than four newly licensed programs unless a waiver is granted, and methadone maintenance clinics are listed below.

Does CareSource cover Suboxone?

Yes. Buprenorphine is on CareSource’s Georgia list of covered medications, and the state’s preferred drug list from June 1, 2026 treats the combination tablet with naloxone as preferred, within quantity limits. Teladoc clinicians cannot prescribe controlled substances, so a CareSource member needs an in-person or network prescriber at Suboxone clinics taking Medicaid.

CareSource Rehab Centers Near Canyons and Lakes

CareSource Medicaid covers every Georgia county, so the benefit is the same on Lookout Mountain as in Atlanta. What changes in the far north is distance: Teladoc visits and the Addiction Services Helpline fill gaps between in-person sessions, and Georgia’s transport broker books rides to treatment three business days ahead.

CareSource rehab near Cloudland Canyon and Tallulah Gorge

Cloudland Canyon, on Lookout Mountain in Dade County, and Tallulah Gorge, on the Rabun and Habersham county line, are North Georgia’s two deep canyons, at opposite ends of the region. Fort Oglethorpe lies north of Cloudland and the Gainesville area southwest of Tallulah, and rehabs near canyons include Fort Oglethorpe treatment options.

CareSource rehab near Lake Hartwell and Lake Burton

Lake Hartwell, along the South Carolina line in Hart and Franklin counties, and Lake Burton, in Rabun County, draw summer visitors to northeast Georgia. CareSource Medicaid members in Hart, Franklin and Rabun counties use the same statewide network as Atlanta members, and treatment near lakes includes programs around Hartwell.

How Do I Find a Rehab That Accepts CareSource in Georgia?

Browse the listings on this page. CareSource is on the accepted list of every Georgia program here; use the town, treatment type and substance filters to narrow things, then ring the program’s admissions line from its listing, which can say whether it is a CareSource network provider.

Admission with CareSource starts at the program: counseling and medication programs can see members directly, and the network provider requests any prior authorization through CareSource’s provider portal. Medicaid Member Services is 1-855-202-0729, weekdays 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and the other CareSource lines in Georgia are listed below.

CareSource rehab in Atlanta and the metro counties

Atlanta houses CareSource’s Georgia regional office, reached at 678-214-7500, and is one of two areas, with Tampa, where CareSource Military and Veterans runs the TRICARE Prime Demo, which needs no referrals for network specialists and offers 24-hour telehealth. Athens residents who buy health insurance through Georgia Access can choose a CareSource Marketplace HMO, and the 2026 Low Premium Silver HMO 500 charged nothing for mental health and substance use office visits, with a copay per inpatient stay. Out-of-network care is not covered, so members stay with Athens treatment programs in network.

CareSource rehab in Savannah and Chatham County

Savannah adults with Medicare and Medicaid may qualify for CareSource Dual Advantage if their county is among the plan’s 97, with eligibility for QMB, QMB+, full-benefit dual or SLMB+ members. The plan charged no copay for individual or group substance use therapy in 2026, and the non-member line, 1-844-607-2830, answers enrollment questions, at Savannah rehab programs.

CareSource rehab in Rome and Northwest Georgia

Rome and Floyd County members have CareSource’s Addiction Services Helpline, 1-833-674-6437, which the plan lists for Georgia members, for benefit questions, and 988 by call or text for a crisis. CareSource also points members to the Crisis Text Line by texting HOME to 741741, and Rome treatment options are listed below.

CareSource rehab in Valdosta and South Georgia

Valdosta adults on Georgia Pathways through CareSource face new rules on January 1, 2027, when a member taking part in a drug or alcohol rehabilitation program becomes exempt from the 80-hour monthly requirement. CareSource was among the plans picked for the next contracts, unlike Amerigroup and Peach State, and Valdosta rehab centers are listed below.

Can I use CareSource for rehab in a different county?

Yes. CareSource Medicaid serves every Georgia county, so a member can use any network program in the state, and many services can be booked without a primary care referral. CareSource Marketplace HMO plans cover only network care except emergencies, and Dual Advantage enrollment is limited to residents of its 97 counties.

How much does rehab cost with CareSource?

Very little for Medicaid members. CareSource Georgia charges a small fixed copay for outpatient services and a larger one for an inpatient stay, nothing for emergencies, and nothing for members under 21. Dual Advantage had no premium, deductible or out-of-pocket cost in 2026, and Marketplace costs depend on the metal level.

CareSource members who leave Medicaid, or Georgians with no coverage at all, have other routes to paid treatment in the state. A CareSource Marketplace plan through Georgia Access is one, and uninsured residents may qualify for state-funded rehab services paid by the state behavioral health department. Income-based sliding scale rehab is marked in the listings.
