Treatment Centers in Idaho That Accept Aetna

Aetna covers drug and alcohol rehab in Idaho mainly through employer plans: coverage Aetna insures or administers for Idaho employers, plans run by its Meritain Health subsidiary, and other carriers’ plans that rent Aetna’s networks. Aetna no longer sells individual marketplace plans anywhere, including on Your Health Idaho, after leaving every exchange for 2026.

Listings below show each program’s phone number, levels of care and accreditation, drawn from government treatment registers and Idaho licensing records. Use the filters to narrow by city, detox, residential or outpatient care, then call the program and give it the Aetna member ID so it can check the plan.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Does Aetna Cover Rehab in Idaho?

Yes, for Idahoans whose employer or federal plan runs through Aetna. Aetna’s mental health benefits list substance use among the conditions they treat, and its plan documents cover inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient care. What a member can use for addiction treatment in Idaho depends on the plan, as with all rehabs that accept Aetna.

Aetna reaches Idaho through several doors. Its own employer plans are sold nationally, and self-funded employers set their own benefits. Meritain Health plans, from Aetna’s administrator subsidiary, list the Idaho Physicians Network in their Idaho network finder. EMI Health and Trustmark small-business plans can use Aetna’s networks, and Aetna runs no Idaho Medicaid plan.

Does Aetna Cover Inpatient Rehab in Idaho?

Yes, where the plan includes it. Aetna’s behavioral health precertification list treats stays in a hospital, a psychiatric hospital, a substance use disorder facility or a residential treatment center as inpatient confinements, so residential rehab that takes insurance and inpatient treatment programs can both be paid once Aetna precertifies the stay.

How long will Aetna pay for residential rehab in Idaho?

Aetna pays for each residential day its reviewers find medically necessary, judged against the ASAM Criteria for addiction care. No fixed day count appears in the Aetna plan summaries on file; any limit sits in the member’s Schedule of Benefits. Even a stay planned as one of the 30-day programs with insurance is judged against those criteria

Does Aetna need prior authorization for inpatient rehab in Idaho?

Yes. Precertification is required for inpatient and residential stays and for partial hospitalization, and the program normally calls Aetna on the commercial precertification line, 1-888-632-3862 (TTY 711). With an out-of-network program the member, not the program, must arrange it, and two Choice POS II summaries add a penalty when out-of-network inpatient care is not preauthorized.

Does Aetna Cover Detox in Idaho?

Yes. Inpatient detox counts as an inpatient confinement and needs precertification, while ambulatory detox with medication has not needed precertification since January 1, 2019. One 2026 Aetna Choice POS II plan document from a New York employer lists outpatient detox as a covered service, so medical detox with insurance and outpatient detox programs are both possible routes.

Does Aetna Cover Outpatient Rehab in Idaho?

Yes. Aetna removed intensive outpatient care from its precertification list, so intensive outpatient with insurance usually starts without waiting for Aetna. Partial hospitalization programs still need precertification. Office visits with counselors, psychologists and psychiatrists are covered in person or virtually, and named plan summaries show a copay per visit rather than a session cap.

Aetna’s in-person MinuteClinic mental health service is offered in a list of states that leaves Idaho out, so Idaho members see network clinicians in person or use virtual care. CVS Virtual Care and Teladoc Health provide therapists and psychiatrists seven days a week, and online rehab and telehealth programs appear in the listings.

Does Aetna Cover Suboxone, Methadone and Other Addiction Medications in Idaho?

Yes, under the plan’s drug list. CVS Caremark, Aetna’s sister company within CVS Health, runs Aetna pharmacy benefits, and formularies differ from one employer plan to the next, so the member checks the drug by plan year and plan name. Programs listed as MAT clinics that take insurance can request coverage on the member’s behalf.

Does Aetna cover Suboxone in Idaho?

Yes. Aetna dropped prior authorization for buprenorphine products such as Suboxone on its commercial plans from March 2017, so Suboxone rehab with insurance normally needs only a prescription. The tier, and any quantity limit, comes from the employer’s drug list. Injectable naltrexone through Vivitrol shot programs follows the same plan-by-plan rule.

Does Aetna cover methadone for Idaho Medicare members?

Yes, through Medicare’s rules. Medicare covers methadone, buprenorphine and naltrexone with counseling and drug testing at enrolled opioid treatment programs, which is how Medicare MAT programs deliver methadone. Aetna sells stand-alone Part D drug plans under the SilverScript name in all 50 states, and those cover pharmacy drugs rather than clinic dosing.

Aetna Rehab Centers Near Ski Resorts, Hot Springs and Wilderness

Aetna’s rules do not change with scenery in Idaho; network status does. A Choice POS II or Open Choice PPO member can use an out-of-network program at a higher share, while HMO and EPO members are limited to the network except in emergencies. Listings show each program’s distance from ski areas, hot springs and wilderness.

Aetna rehab near Sun Valley and Bogus Basin

Ski country in Idaho runs from Sun Valley above Ketchum in Blaine County to Bogus Basin in the foothills above Boise. Rehabs near ski resorts and treatment programs in Hailey still need Aetna precertification for a residential stay, and a member on a network-only plan should ask whether the program contracts with Aetna.

Aetna rehab near Lava Hot Springs and Idaho City

Hot springs line southern and central Idaho, from Lava Hot Springs in Bannock County to the springs around Idaho City in Boise County. Rehabs near hot springs in those counties are reached the same way as any other Aetna program: the facility checks the member’s plan and requests precertification for residential care.

Aetna rehab near the Frank Church Wilderness

Central Idaho’s Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness spans Valley, Idaho, Lemhi and Custer counties, and the nearby towns are small. Treatment near wilderness areas may be outside a plan’s network, so out-of-network benefits on a POS or PPO plan matter there, and balance billing above Aetna’s allowed amount can apply.

How Do I Find a Rehab That Accepts Aetna in Idaho?

Browse the listings on this page first. Each listing names the program’s levels of care and phone number, so a member can call and ask whether the program contracts with Aetna, Meritain Health or the Aetna Signature Administrators network named on the card. Filters narrow the listings to detox, residential or outpatient care.

Admission then runs through the plan named on the card. Programs call the number on the member ID card for precertification of inpatient, residential and partial hospitalization care. Aetna’s commercial precertification line is 1-888-632-3862 and its Medicare line is 1-800-624-0756. The table shows how each Aetna-linked plan reaches Idaho residents.

Aetna rehab in Boise and Ada County

Federal and postal employees in Boise can have Aetna behind a plan that does not carry the Aetna name. The Mail Handlers Benefit Plan, which Aetna administers for federal and postal employees, uses the same Aetna Choice POS II network in Idaho as in every state. Members can contact Boise treatment centers or downtown Boise programs and quote that network.

Aetna rehab in Meridian and Nampa

Meridian and Nampa sit in the Treasure Valley, home to the Idaho Physicians Network, a statewide network founded in Boise in 1993 that Meritain Health lists for Idaho. Meritain does not sell its own insurance; the employer funds the plan and picks the network, so Meritain members confirm which network applies before calling rehabs in Meridian or Nampa treatment options.

Aetna rehab in Idaho Falls and Pocatello

Eastern Idaho shows how Aetna’s network travels with other carriers. The City of Idaho Falls offers a PacificSource Navigator plan for 2026 to 2027, and Navigator plans use the Aetna Signature Administrators network outside PacificSource’s area. Inside Idaho, Idaho Falls rehab programs and Pocatello treatment centers use PacificSource’s own network.

Aetna rehab in Coeur d’Alene and Post Falls

North Idaho sits next to Spokane, Washington, which lies outside PacificSource’s network area of Idaho, Montana, Oregon and two Washington counties. A Navigator member crossing the state line for care would use Aetna Signature Administrators, while Coeur d’Alene treatment programs and Post Falls rehab options stay in the Idaho network.

Can I use Aetna for rehab outside Idaho?

Yes, on most Aetna employer plans, because Aetna’s network is national and Choice POS II and Open Choice PPO plans also pay out of network. HMO and EPO designs cover out-of-network care only in emergencies. Requests to treat an out-of-network program at the in-network rate need precertification unless the care is an emergency.

How much does rehab cost with Aetna in Idaho?

Cost depends on the employer’s design. Two employer Choice POS II summaries from other states show a flat copay for outpatient visits in network and coinsurance after the deductible for inpatient care, with a higher share out of network. Out-of-network programs can bill above Aetna’s allowed amount, and that excess does not count toward the out-of-pocket maximum.

Aetna is one of several ways rehab is paid for in Idaho. Members with Aetna’s Resources For Living employee assistance program get a set number of free counseling sessions chosen by the employer, and listings also show self-pay and sliding scale options. Federal employees can also reach Aetna’s FEHB plans through aetnafeds.com, which carries its own phone line, 1-877-459-6604.
