Treatment Centers in Indiana That Accept Cigna

Cigna Healthcare pays for drug and alcohol rehab in Indiana for members of employer plans and, through the end of 2026, for individual and family plan members in central Indiana and around Evansville. Cigna’s sister company, Evernorth Behavioral Health, runs behavioral health for Cigna members and decides authorization for detox, residential care and other facility treatment.

Each Indiana program listed below shows a phone number, the services it runs, such as inpatient detox, intensive outpatient or medication treatment, and accreditation by The Joint Commission or CARF if it has one. Government treatment registers and Indiana licensing files supply those details. Search by city or service, then ask if your plan’s Cigna network includes the program.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Does Cigna Cover Rehab in Indiana?

Yes. Cigna covers drug and alcohol rehab in Indiana for members of its employer plans and its 2026 individual and family plans, and Cigna’s employer-plan page lists inpatient and outpatient substance use treatment with follow-up case management. Programs that bill Cigna appear as rehabs that accept Cigna among the Indiana addiction treatment centers listed here.

Cigna’s individual and family plans in Indiana end with the 2026 plan year: Cigna’s site says it will no longer offer individual and family medical plans for 2027, though current plans run through the end of 2026. Employer plans continue. Cigna’s Medicare Advantage business became HealthSpring on January 1, 2026, and Cigna runs no Indiana Medicaid plan.

Does Cigna Cover Inpatient Rehab in Indiana?

Yes, with authorization. Evernorth Behavioral Health’s authorization grid lists inpatient rehab for substance use, inpatient care for a dual diagnosis and residential addiction treatment among the levels Cigna covers. Cigna’s own treatment guide describes inpatient rehab programs after detox and residential treatment lasting 28 days or more, with coverage decided by medical necessity guidelines.

How long will Cigna pay for residential rehab?

Cigna sets residential length by medical necessity rather than a fixed number of days. Evernorth uses The ASAM Criteria for every substance use level-of-care decision, the Fourth Edition since November 2024 for adults 18 and older and the Third Edition for younger patients, so a stay at one of the long-term programs taking insurance continues while those criteria are met.

Does Cigna need prior authorization for inpatient rehab?

Yes. Cigna requires authorization for inpatient substance use rehab, inpatient detox and residential treatment. Facility staff do a face-to-face assessment and then call Evernorth with clinical details. In-network programs request it themselves. Cigna’s behavioral health benefits line, 1 (800) 433-5768, answers 24 hours a day for members who want to start the request.

Does Cigna Cover Detox in Indiana?

Yes. Cigna covers inpatient detox with 24-hour medical care, which needs authorization, and ambulatory detox, which does not. Cigna’s treatment guide names both, so a member who can safely withdraw at home may start at one of the outpatient detox programs and step up to medical detox taking insurance if needed.

Does Cigna Cover Outpatient Rehab in Indiana?

Yes. Cigna covers routine outpatient therapy without prior authorization, and Cigna’s treatment guide describes intensive outpatient programs as three to five days a week for three to four hours a day. Partial hospitalization runs five to seven days a week for six to eight hours a day, and Evernorth lists both levels as depending on the member’s plan.

Cigna’s individual Connect plans pay only network providers, except in an emergency, while employer Open Access Plus, PPO and standard LocalPlus plans include out-of-network benefits. Evernorth Behavioral Care Group therapists are in network for Cigna employer and individual plans, and Cigna names Bicycle Health among its partners for virtual addiction treatment of opioid use disorder.

Does Cigna Cover Suboxone, Methadone and Other Addiction Medications?

Yes. Cigna’s Standard 3-Tier Prescription Drug List, September 2026 edition, places generic buprenorphine-naloxone and acamprosate on Tier 1, Zubsolv and Lucemyra on Tier 2 and brand Suboxone on Tier 3. Pharmacy benefits run through Express Scripts, part of Evernorth, so an Indiana employer’s chosen drug list sets the copay for medication-assisted treatment.

Does Cigna cover Suboxone?

Yes. Cigna ended prior authorization for buprenorphine medications for opioid use disorder in October 2016, and Evernorth’s grid lists buprenorphine induction as needing no authorization. Buprenorphine programs taking insurance bill the induction visit without an authorization request, with the plan’s drug list setting the tier.

Does Cigna cover methadone?

Yes. Evernorth’s authorization grid lists methadone maintenance as an outpatient behavioral service with no prior authorization, billed by the clinic rather than filled at a pharmacy. Methadone maintenance programs in Indiana need to be in the Cigna network for a Connect plan to pay, and Vivitrol shots taking insurance are on the Express Scripts 2026 National Preferred Formulary.

Cigna Rehab Centers Near the Ohio River, Central Indiana Reservoirs and the Hoosier National Forest

Cigna’s 2026 individual plans cover only the counties on Cigna’s county list, so for those members the setting and the county go together. Cigna published that list in a July 2025 flyer for the 2026 plan year. Employer plan members are not tied to that county list; their own plan’s network decides, including in the three settings below.

Cigna rehab along the Ohio River

Cigna sold 2026 individual plans in Vanderburgh, Warrick and Posey counties, the stretch of the Ohio River around Evansville, Newburgh and Mount Vernon. Rehab centers near rivers and downtown Evansville rehab programs fall inside that service area, so a Connect member there can use them in network.

Cigna rehab near central Indiana reservoirs

Cigna’s 2026 individual service area takes in Hamilton and Marion counties, home to Morse Reservoir near Noblesville and Geist Reservoir on the Fishers line. Rehab centers near lakes and Fishers treatment programs sit within that area, and the same Evernorth authorization rules apply as anywhere else.

Cigna rehab near the Hoosier National Forest

Cigna’s 2026 individual plans reach Dubois County, on the western edge of the Hoosier National Forest, but not the forest’s core counties of Lawrence, Orange, Perry and Crawford. Programs near national forests around Jasper are an option for Connect members, while employer plan members can also reach Bedford treatment centers farther east.

How Do I Find a Rehab That Accepts Cigna in Indiana?

Browse the listings on this page. Each program card shows how to call, what levels of care it provides and its accreditation, and you can filter by place, service and insurer. Programs taking private insurance include those in Cigna’s networks, so a short call tells you which Cigna network a program belongs to.

Cigna admission to detox, inpatient or residential care runs through Evernorth: the program assesses the member, then calls with clinical details, or the member calls the behavioral line on the card and names the program. Existing individual plan members can reach Cigna at 1 (877) 484-5966. The table shows where 2026 individual plans were sold.

Cigna rehab in Indianapolis and Marion County

Cigna’s 2026 individual plans cover all of Marion County and five of the counties around it, so a Connect member in the capital can use network programs across the metro. Indianapolis drug rehab programs and Broad Ripple treatment options are inside that area.

Cigna rehab in Anderson, Kokomo and east-central Indiana

Cigna’s county list for 2026 reaches Madison County around Anderson and Howard County around Kokomo, along with Henry County to the east. Connect members there can use treatment centers in Anderson and Kokomo rehab programs in network, without crossing into Marion County.

Cigna rehab in Evansville and southwest Indiana

Cigna’s southwest service area runs from Posey County on the Illinois line through Vanderburgh and Warrick north to Gibson and east to Dubois. That gives individual plan members around Evansville and Jasper a local network, and employer plan members can also use network programs across the river in Kentucky. Rehab options in Jasper are listed below.

Cigna rehab in Fort Wayne, South Bend and northern Indiana

Cigna sold no 2026 individual plans in northern Indiana, so Cigna members in Allen or St. Joseph County hold employer coverage. Level-funded employer plans can use the Cigna PPO too: one northeast Indiana school district’s 2023 Gravie plan did. Fort Wayne rehab centers are within reach of those plans.

Can I use Cigna for rehab in a different state?

Yes, on most Cigna employer plans, because the network is national and Open Access Plus and PPO plans add out-of-network benefits. SIHO, a southern Indiana administrator, names the Cigna PPO as one of the networks some of its plans use for members outside the state. Individual Connect plans are different: they cover out-of-network care only for emergencies.

How much does rehab cost with Cigna?

Cigna costs follow a pattern across its plan documents: outpatient therapy usually costs a flat copay outside the deductible, while facility care means coinsurance after it. Employer plans have no separate behavioral deductible, and Cigna’s 2026 standard individual designs for Arizona and Florida set inpatient coinsurance from 25 percent on Gold to 50 percent on Bronze.

What happens to Cigna individual plans in Indiana in 2027?

Cigna individual and family medical plans end in Indiana after 2026. Cigna’s site says it will no longer offer individual and family medical plans for 2027, while its dental plans continue. Members in treatment late in 2026 should plan to move to a new carrier at open enrollment so their care can continue in January.

Cigna is not the only way Hoosiers pay for treatment. Facility pages show which networks and payment types each program uses, which helps anyone planning ahead of 2027. Sliding scale rehab programs and Indiana Medicaid options are alternatives for anyone whose Cigna plan ends.
