Treatment Centers in Montana That Accept PacificSource

PacificSource Health Plans still covers drug and alcohol rehab in Montana for its individual, employer and Medicare members, but it is leaving the state: all Montana operations end on December 31, 2026. Until then, members keep their current benefits, including detox, residential care, intensive outpatient treatment and medications for addiction treatment.

Programs listed on this page come from government treatment registers and Montana licensing records, with each listing showing the facility’s phone number, its levels of care and any accreditation from The Joint Commission or CARF. Browse the listings below and filter by city or level of care.

Does PacificSource Cover Rehab in Montana?

Yes, through December 31, 2026. PacificSource’s substance use disorder policy covers outpatient treatment, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, residential care, inpatient withdrawal management, medications for addiction treatment and peer services for its commercial and Medicare lines in Montana, and its update page says there are no immediate changes to coverage at rehab programs in Montana.

PacificSource, a not-for-profit plan from Springfield, Oregon, entered Montana in 2011 while acquiring New West Health Services. Its Montana individual, employer, Medicare Advantage and self-funded business all end on December 31, 2026, and members get a letter 180 days before their own end date, so rehabs that accept PacificSource still bill it this year.

Does PacificSource Cover Inpatient Rehab in Montana?

Yes, for commercial members. PacificSource’s current substance use policy covers residential treatment at ASAM levels 3.1, 3.3 and 3.5 and asks the program to notify PacificSource within two business days of admission rather than wait for a decision first. Medicare members are different: the policy lists residential treatment as not covered for them, though hospital addiction treatment can apply.

How long will PacificSource pay for residential rehab in Montana?

PacificSource’s policy sets no fixed number of residential days and uses ASAM criteria for admission and continued-stay decisions. A Montana member admitted in late 2026 should also expect coverage to stop when PacificSource’s Montana contract ends on December 31, and plan the step down to outpatient care with the program’s staff.

Does PacificSource require prior authorization for rehab in Montana?

Only for intensive outpatient treatment, under the current policy: approvals for that level last up to 30 days at a time. Inpatient withdrawal management, residential care and partial hospitalization need only notification within two business days of admission, and out-of-network residential programs need prior authorization to get an out-of-network exception. Health Services takes calls at 888-691-8209.

Does PacificSource Cover Detox in Montana?

Yes. PacificSource covers inpatient withdrawal management at ASAM level 3.7 for commercial and Medicare members, with notification due within two business days of admission rather than a decision in advance. Montana providers send paperwork to Health Services, which keeps a Montana fax line, 406-441-3378, and residential detox programs follow that notification step.

Does PacificSource Cover Outpatient Rehab in Montana?

Yes. PacificSource requires no prior authorization or referral for outpatient behavioral health visits, sets no fixed number of sessions, and counts real-time video sessions as outpatient treatment. Intensive outpatient programs are the exception: they need prior authorization before the first session, and partial hospitalization needs notification within two business days.

Most PacificSource commercial plans also include Teladoc, which offers behavioral health therapists by phone or computer to members 18 and over, usually for the same cost as an office visit; the Teladoc line is 855-201-7488. For Montana members far from a clinic, that can bridge the gap to online rehab and telehealth during the 2026 transition.

Does PacificSource Cover Suboxone, Methadone and Other Addiction Medications in Montana?

Yes. PacificSource’s current policy lets members get medications for addiction treatment, including for opioid use disorder, without prior authorization, though some individual drugs or their administration may carry their own rules. Montana employer and individual members use a separate Montana drug list with tiers from 0 to 4, and coverage for Subutex with insurance appears on that list.

Does PacificSource cover methadone in Montana?

Yes. The PacificSource substance use policy lists medication-assisted treatment including agonist therapy, the category that covers methadone and buprenorphine, and says it must be offered or arranged at intensive levels of care and above. Pharmacy questions go to 844-877-4803, and methadone treatment clinics bill under the member’s plan until December 31, 2026.

What happens to PacificSource drug coverage when it leaves Montana?

Montana drug coverage ends with the plan, so a member taking buprenorphine or naltrexone needs a new plan’s formulary in place for January 1, 2027. PacificSource tells members to keep filling prescriptions as usual until then and, when choosing new coverage, to check that their preferred providers, including Vivitrol shot providers, are in the new network.

PacificSource Rehab Centers in Montana Along Rivers, in the Mountains and Near Wilderness

PacificSource’s networks cover Idaho, Montana, Oregon and two Washington counties, so Montana programs from the river valleys to the high country sit inside its home service area until the exit. Navigator, Voyager and SmartAlliance employer plans add the Aetna Signature Administrators network for care outside that area, and individual members traveling can use in-network urgent and emergency care.

PacificSource rehab along rivers

River settings around Helena include the Missouri through the Gates of the Mountains, the Smith River south of Great Falls and the Blackfoot River where it meets the Clark Fork at Bonner. Rehabs near rivers and Bonner-West Riverside programs follow the same notification rules as any Montana program.

PacificSource rehab in the mountains

Mountain settings near Helena include the Big Belt Mountains to the northeast and the Elkhorn Mountains to the south, with East Helena at their foot. PacificSource members using rehabs near mountains or East Helena treatment programs start outpatient care without a referral and give notice of any residential admission.

PacificSource rehab near wilderness

Wilderness country west of Helena includes the Scapegoat Wilderness above Lincoln and the Gates of the Mountains Wilderness along the Missouri. PacificSource notes that court-ordered treatment must still meet medical necessity to be paid, a rule that applies to rehabs near wilderness areas as much as to city programs.

How Do I Find a Rehab That Accepts PacificSource in Montana?

Browse the listings on this page. Each program shown lists PacificSource among the insurance it takes, and filters narrow the list by city, level of care and substance. Every listing carries the program’s phone number, so a call goes to admissions first, and listings of programs taking private insurance help members planning for 2027 coverage.

Admission with PacificSource in Montana depends on the level: the program gives notice of a residential, detox or partial hospitalization admission within two business days, and requests prior authorization before intensive outpatient care. If a provider will not file, the member can contact PacificSource for help. The Montana contact lines are below.

PacificSource rehab in Helena

Helena is where PacificSource opened its first Montana office with its 2011 licensure, although its current locations page lists offices only in Oregon and Boise, Idaho. Members near downtown Helena treatment programs keep their benefits until their plan’s end date, and PacificSource says appointments and prescriptions should continue as usual until then.

PacificSource rehab in Billings

Billings employers with PacificSource group plans receive a notice 180 days before their coverage ends, with letters for January 1, 2027 end dates starting July 1, 2026. Employees in active treatment at West End rehab programs can use that window to line up the next plan.

PacificSource rehab in Missoula and Bozeman

Individual and family plan members in Missoula and Bozeman lose PacificSource coverage after December 31, 2026, as it leaves the individual market everywhere. Members can can keep Teladoc therapy and outpatient visits through the year at Missoula rehab programs before moving to a new plan for 2027, and should confirm that their therapist is in the new plan’s network.

PacificSource rehab in Great Falls and Kalispell

Employer members in Great Falls and Kalispell on Navigator plans use PacificSource’s network at home and the Aetna Signature Administrators network outside the service area. One Navigator HSA plan, for an Idaho public employer, charges 20 percent in network and 40 percent out of network for members, and Montana employees near Great Falls rehab centers should check their own booklet.

Can I use PacificSource for rehab outside Montana?

Sometimes. PacificSource’s networks also cover Idaho, Oregon and Clark and Cowlitz counties in Washington, and Navigator, Voyager and SmartAlliance plans add Aetna Signature Administrators elsewhere. Out-of-network residential programs need prior authorization for an out-of-network exception, and Montana individual members outside the area get in-network urgent and emergency care only.

How much does rehab cost with PacificSource in Montana?

Costs follow the plan’s deductible, coinsurance and copays, and PacificSource states that a prior authorization is not a promise to pay the whole bill. The Idaho Navigator HSA example applies 20 percent coinsurance in network after the deductible, and PacificSource Medicare plans sold in Oregon and Idaho charge per-day amounts for the first days of an inpatient mental health stay.

PacificSource members planning for January 2027 can compare options now, while their current Montana plan still pays claims, and look for programs that take several kinds of coverage. Listings here also show sliding scale IOP programs and state funded residential rehab, and PacificSource lists the Montana Warm Line, 877-688-3377, for peer support while coverage changes.
