Treatment Centers in New Mexico That Accept Molina

Molina Healthcare of New Mexico covers drug and alcohol rehab mainly through Turquoise Care, the state Medicaid program it joined on July 1, 2024, and also sells Medicare and Marketplace plans in the state. Detox, residential care, outpatient treatment and medications for opioid and alcohol use disorder are all covered.

Listed programs come from government treatment registers and New Mexico licensing records. A listing shows the facility’s phone number, which levels of care it runs and whether The Joint Commission or CARF accredits it. Use the filters on the listings below to sort by city, level of care or substance.

Does Molina Cover Rehab in New Mexico?

Yes. Molina Healthcare of New Mexico is one of the four Turquoise Care plans and covers substance use treatment statewide, from Questa rehab programs on the Colorado line to programs near the Mexican border. Molina’s Turquoise Care members get the full state benefit, from outpatient counseling through residential treatment and withdrawal management.

Molina Healthcare, Inc., based in Long Beach, California, runs government-sponsored plans in 21 states, and New Mexico is one where it holds all three lines: Molina Healthcare plans for Medicaid, Medicare and the Marketplace. Molina was new to Turquoise Care at launch, unlike BCBSNM and Presbyterian, which carried members over from Centennial Care.

Does Molina Cover Inpatient Rehab in New Mexico?

Yes. Molina Turquoise Care members can enter Medicaid residential rehabs that hold state certification and Joint Commission, CARF or COA accreditation, at ASAM levels 3.1 through 3.7. On Molina’s Medicare side, the behavioral health prior authorization form lists inpatient psychiatric care, inpatient detox and residential treatment as services a provider can request.

How long will Molina pay for residential rehab in New Mexico?

Molina Turquoise Care pays for as long as continued-stay reviews support, because the state’s April 2025 behavioral health manual sets no fixed residential length and ties duration to progress and outcomes. The first five days of in-state adult residential care need no authorization at all, which lets short-term residential programs admit quickly.

Does Molina need prior authorization for inpatient rehab in New Mexico?

After the first five days, yes. A continued residential stay, any out-of-state residential placement and ASAM level 4 hospital care all need authorization from Molina for Turquoise Care members. Molina Medicare members follow Molina’s own behavioral health authorization form, which covers inpatient psychiatric and detox stays, voluntary or involuntary, along with residential care.

Does Molina Cover Detox in New Mexico?

Yes. Molina Turquoise Care covers residential detox programs at the clinically managed and medically monitored levels and ambulatory detox, none of which need prior authorization, plus hospital detox with it. In 2026 Molina also lists sober living financial support for eligible members leaving detox and transitional living for adults with chemical dependency.

Does Molina Cover Outpatient Rehab in New Mexico?

Yes. Molina Turquoise Care covers outpatient therapy, Medicaid-funded IOP programs and partial hospitalization, with ASAM level 1 outpatient care needing no authorization. On the Medicare side, Molina’s authorization form names partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, day treatment and Assertive Community Treatment as requestable services, so those levels go through Molina before they start.

Molina’s 2026 Turquoise Care extras, shared with the other three plans, include the Calm Health app, BeMe Health for teens, online cognitive behavioral therapy through Onto Better Health, peer support groups and a substance use helpline. Those sit alongside telehealth rehab programs that bill Molina as an ordinary outpatient service.

Does Molina Cover Suboxone, Methadone and Other Addiction Medications in New Mexico?

Yes. Molina Turquoise Care pharmacy claims go through CVS Caremark, and New Mexico’s 2024 Letter of Direction 9 bars Molina from requiring prior authorization for methadone, buprenorphine or naltrexone prescribed for addiction. Medicaid MAT clinics can start a Molina member on medication at the first visit under that rule.

Does Molina cover methadone in New Mexico?

Yes. Molina Turquoise Care members get methadone through opioid treatment programs that the state Behavioral Health Services Division regulates, which also provide counseling and rehabilitative services at one site. Methadone maintenance treatment beyond six months counts as comprehensive maintenance under the state rule, and short-term withdrawal runs 30 days or less.

Does Molina cover Suboxone in New Mexico?

Yes. Buprenorphine in any formulation for opioid use disorder is covered for Molina Turquoise Care members without prior authorization, though Molina may fill a generic unless the prescriber hand-writes brand medically necessary. Sublocade through Medicaid and other long-acting buprenorphine products fall under the same no-authorization letter.

Does Molina cover naloxone in New Mexico?

Yes. Molina must reimburse pharmacies and providers for nasal Narcan and naloxone kits and pay a counseling incentive fee when they are dispensed to Turquoise Care members. For alcohol use disorder, naltrexone falls under the same no-authorization letter, and programs offering disulfiram for Medicaid members appear in the listings.

Molina Rehab Centers in New Mexico Forests, Lakes and the Bootheel Desert

Molina’s Turquoise Care network is statewide, so addiction treatment in New Mexico under Molina is not tied to a region. The choice of setting changes travel time; Medicaid non-emergency transportation, which every Turquoise Care plan provides, helps cover the distance to remote programs.

Molina rehab in the Carson National Forest

Forest settings in the north center on the Carson National Forest around Questa, Red River and Taos in Taos County, below Wheeler Peak. National forest rehab settings there take Molina Turquoise Care under the same statewide rules, and residential stays past day five go to Molina for authorization.

Molina rehab near lakes

Lake settings in Rio Arriba County include Abiquiu Lake on the Rio Chama and El Vado and Heron lakes farther north, with Española the nearest larger town. Rehab programs near lakes and Española treatment centers accept Molina Turquoise Care, which covers Rio Arriba County like every other county.

Molina rehab in the Bootheel desert

Desert settings in the southwest corner run through Deming in Luna County and Lordsburg in Hidalgo County, along Interstate 10. Southwest desert rehabs and Deming rehab programs take Molina Turquoise Care, and members there can switch plans only in their first three months of enrollment or at renewal.

How Do I Find a Rehab That Accepts Molina in New Mexico?

Browse the listings on this page. Each program shown lists Molina, and the filters sort by city, level of care and substance. Every listing carries the program’s phone number, so the first call goes to the facility, and Medicaid detox programs statewide have their own page as well.

Admission runs through Molina when authorization applies, usually requested by the program after its assessment. Molina Turquoise Care Member Services is (844) 862-4543, TTY 711, Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm Mountain time, and Molina’s 24-hour Nurse Advice Line is (833) 965-1558. Molina rehab in Albuquerque and the metro

Albuquerque members who picked Molina at Turquoise Care’s launch, or were assigned to it, could switch during their first three months and are otherwise locked in until their next 12-month period. Programs near South Valley rehab programs check Molina enrollment the same way they check any Turquoise Care plan.

Molina rehab in Las Cruces and Doña Ana County

Las Cruces residents who buy a Molina Marketplace plan in 2026 fall under New Mexico’s ban on behavioral health cost sharing, which applies to individual exchange plans. Molina says it will concentrate Marketplace enrollment in six states for 2027 without naming them, so downtown Las Cruces programs may see Molina exchange cards change.

Molina rehab in Santa Fe and Española

Santa Fe and Española Medicare members should know that Molina decided in February 2026 to exit standalone Medicare Advantage with drug coverage for 2027, while its dual-eligible plans continue. Members with both Medicare and Medicaid near Santa Fe Foothills programs keep Molina dual coverage and a Turquoise Care plan.
