Drug and Alcohol Rehabs in Downtown Wilmington, Wilmington, NC

Downtown Wilmington runs along the Cape Fear River, and its historic district is among the largest in the state — over two hundred blocks that survived because the city was never burned during the Civil War.

Wilmington was the last major Confederate port to fall, and for most of the nineteenth century it was the largest city in North Carolina. The riverfront warehouses and the Bellamy Mansion date from that period.

The 1898 coup, in which white supremacists overthrew the elected biracial government and killed an unknown number of Black residents, happened in these streets. It remains the only successful coup in American history.
