DUI and DWI Programs in Oklahoma

Oklahoma ties driver’s license reinstatement after a DUI to a program known as ADSAC, short for Alcohol and Drug Substance Abuse Courses. Drivers whose licenses are revoked for a DUI must complete an ADSAC assessment and then every step it recommends. Those steps can range from a 10-hour DUI school and a Victims Impact Panel to residential treatment.

RehabSeekers.com lists programs across Oklahoma that report serving people referred after a DUI or DWI, from weekly counseling to live-in care. Listing details come from government treatment registers, state licensing records, accreditor listings, and information the providers send in themselves. Ask each program directly what role, if any, it plays in ADSAC.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions about DUI and DWI Programs

Answered from what is listed here.

Where are DUI programs in Oklahoma?

Norman comes first among the Oklahoma cities where DUI and DWI program listings cluster, followed by Springfield, Nichols Hills, Seminole and Ada. Drivers ordered into a program can look across these towns when choosing a provider close to home or work.

Larger cities nearby, including Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Springfield, offer further choices. Class times and session formats vary between providers, so asking about evening or weekend schedules is worthwhile.

Rehab Centers in Normanhttps://rehabseekers.com/locations/us/oklahoma/norman/
Do DUI programs in Oklahoma take SoonerCare?

SoonerCare, the state's Medicaid program, is recorded as accepted by nearly all of the DUI and DWI programs in Oklahoma. Coverage can run through a SoonerSelect health plan with behavioral health included, such as Aetna Better Health of Oklahoma, Humana Healthy Horizons of Oklahoma or Oklahoma Complete Health. Ask which plans apply.

Rehab Centers in Oklahoma That Accept SoonerCarehttps://rehabseekers.com/locations/us/oklahoma/soonercare/
Are there DUI programs near a river in Oklahoma?

The median distance from listed facilities to the nearest river is about 14.8 miles, and most of the DUI and DWI programs in Oklahoma sit within 25 miles of one.

The North Fork Little River, the Little River and the Cimarron River are the most-named rivers near these listings. For drivers attending classes, travel time from home or work usually matters more than how close a program is to water.

What DUI or DWI program does Oklahoma require, and who certifies it?

Oklahoma requires the Alcohol and Drug Substance Abuse Courses program after a DUI license revocation, and Oklahoma’s Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services certifies the organizations and facilitators that deliver it. The program starts with an assessment that sets the steps each driver must finish.

Under title 47, section 6-212.2 of the Oklahoma Statutes, a driver whose license was revoked for a DUI on or after July 1, 2003 must finish the assessment and all of its recommendations before reinstatement. The certification rules sit in Oklahoma Administrative Code Title 450, Chapter 21, with the current version effective September 15, 2023.

The requirement is a legal process, not a single class. The 10-hour DUI school and the Victims Impact Panel are education, while counseling, intensive outpatient care or residential care is clinical treatment that the assessment can add on top of the education steps.

Assessment and school fees are paid separately from treatment, and recommended treatment can often be billed to private insurance or SoonerCare. Before buying an online class, ask the court clerk or the state agency to confirm in writing that it will meet your requirement.

How does an ADSAC assessment decide which program or treatment you need?

A certified ADSAC assessor interviews you about your alcohol and drug use, and the recommendations from that interview become the list you must complete. Some drivers finish with the DUI school and the Victims Impact Panel. Others are directed into treatment, up to residential care. Requirements beyond the 10-hour school, including any separate steps for repeat or underage offenses, come from the ODMHSAS ADSAC rules. Ask your assessor which of them apply to your case before you enroll anywhere.

Levels of care listed after a DUI referral

Oklahoma providers on RehabSeekers.com report several levels of care for people referred after a DUI or DWI: outpatient counseling, intensive outpatient programs, residential treatment, and medication for alcohol or opioid use disorder, including buprenorphine clinics. Judges can also order treatment directly. The ODMHSAS Drug Court Team supports adult drug courts in 73 of Oklahoma’s 77 counties, and court-ordered rehab listings show providers that report taking those referrals. For alcohol-specific care, see alcohol rehab in Oklahoma.

Can you complete a DUI or DWI program online in Oklahoma?

Online completion counts only if your court and ODMHSAS accept it, and the state sources behind this page do not show a general rule allowing online ADSAC courses. Before you pay for any online class, get written confirmation from the court clerk or ODMHSAS that it will satisfy your requirement. Treatment is a separate question. SoonerCare pays for telehealth by live audio and video for approved behavioral health services, so virtual counseling may be possible. Even then, the court or licensing office has the final say on whether it meets your order.

How do you pay for a DUI program or court-ordered treatment in Oklahoma?

ADSAC assessment and school fees are paid separately from treatment, so ask the provider for current fee amounts rather than relying on older figures posted online. Treatment that the assessment recommends can often be billed to private insurance or to SoonerCare, Oklahoma’s Medicaid program run by the Oklahoma Health Care Authority. Since State Question 802 took effect on July 1, 2021, adults 19 to 64 can qualify under expansion. The SoonerSelect plans include behavioral health: Aetna Better Health of Oklahoma, Humana Healthy Horizons of Oklahoma and Oklahoma Complete Health.

Each listing shows the payment types the provider reports. Filter for Medicaid, sliding fee scales or state-funded programs if cost is a concern.

What happens after you finish, and how do you get your license back?

Finishing every ADSAC recommendation is one condition of reinstatement after a DUI revocation in Oklahoma, but the driver licensing office may set others. Other conditions, such as an ignition interlock, may also apply. Ask the licensing office for its full checklist, and ask each provider how proof of completion is sent to the court and the licensing office. Nothing on this page is legal advice, and finishing a program does not by itself change the outcome of a criminal case.

What to bring when you call a provider

Before you call, gather your court paperwork, your ADSAC assessment results, your completion deadline and any case number. Ask whether the program reports completion directly, how quickly it can start, and which languages staff speak. Some providers report Spanish-language sessions or interpreters; see Spanish-speaking rehab in Oklahoma.

Where listed DUI programs sit in Oklahoma

Listings for this term lean urban: 45 percent are in urban areas and 36 percent are rural. About 82 percent sit within 25 miles of a river, most often the North Fork Little River or the Little River, at a median of 14.8 miles. Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City is the nearest major airport for more than half, though the median distance to the closest airport is 53.2 miles. Norman appears most often among listed towns, and the Arbuckle Mountains and Criner Hills rise nearby. For every program type, see all Oklahoma listings.

Help is available now. Call or text 988 for crisis support, or call the national treatment referral line for help finding services. ODMHSAS does not list a separate state substance use helpline; the agency’s main number is 405-248-9200.
