Independent Family Services – Johnstown Reviews and Ratings
Reviews of Independent Family Services help in two directions. Reading them helps you prepare questions for the admissions team, and writing one, if you have been a patient, helps the next family prepare theirs.
My time here has been nothing but phenomenal! From the staff to the groups, everyone genuinely cares about you here from the moment you walk in the door.
Worst place in Johnstown! I would not recommend to my worst enemy. I don’t think Jody should be allowed to treat patients anywhere! I told her that I don’t think we “Jive” well together and she threw me out of her… office. She also didn’t like when I brought her proof from a medical doctor specializing in addiction treatment that she was incorrect on a particular topic. I had to sit and wait 10 to 15 minutes for her one day b/c she decided to run home and grab Dr. Pepper! Really? I could go on forever about her and Heather at the front desk, don’t even get me started on her. They are very unprofessional. They push god and religion too much as well! I am angry at god right now and I didn’t need that shoved down my throat every time I was there.
I cannot overstate the level of incompetence within this agency. Over the past nine months, my family has faced nothing but frustration—nonexistent treatment plans, a botched discharge, and staff who appear completely… disengaged. I cannot point to a single positive experience, aside from the unfortunate irony that the staff often model the very behaviors they are supposed to be addressing through therapy. The only thing this agency seems to have perfected is making an already difficult situation worse. If you are truly seeking therapeutic support, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
Highly disorganized. They need more than 1 person to that knows about insurance coverage. They say they will return phone calls but don't.
I called Friday to report that one of their workers was harassing me and my family, the lady that answered the phone told me I would need to talk to the person in charge and that they would be in on Monday. So I called… them today and the lady that answers the phone say they where advised to no longer take calls from me. So my granddaughter who was very upset called them and the lady told her to stop talking and got an attitude with my granddaughter, so not only are they harassing us but when we tried to report this they ignored us. I would not recommend this place to anyone they do not act professional. They will not push the call over to the person who handles anything they only person you can get ahold of is the front desk lady and all she does is give you attitude. If I could give them 0 stars I would.
Had no issue great people
Expect to have a urine test on your first appointment, also they won’t tell you about this upfront. Just pops it up on you. After you’ve signed a million papers for 2 hours. Anthony, who runs it is a major jerk.… Everyone else super cool. Just go somewhere else. He just wants your money
Denial, a 6 letter word that describes everyone walking through the door's. "I'm not that bad, I don't need that kind of treatment, I'm only doing this because everyone else says I have a problem that I don't have."… These are just a few forms of denial stricken this county with people attempting to create their own technique for getting help, yet the desire to deceive and lie to help progress you ahead in life is actually unrealistic expectations you're setting for yourself. Understanding takes patience and acceptance of responsibility for the pain you've caused everyone around you. Stop thinking you know better then trained professionals put in a position to better your life, you don't. You might know your life better then anyone else, but when you become irrational, illogical, and unreasonable you become irate with irritable actions causing the disregard and irresponsible behaviors for which landed you in a position of callused abrasions. Stop believing your in control of an other worldly set of predicaments weighing heavily on our broken backs lugging mountains around when we should only be backpacking our own dilemmas. It's time for a change, time for accountability, time for something new something better. It's about time I stop pretending and I finally trust someone and get the help I need, or I can keep losing. The choice is mine and yours to make in our own time. I choose mine. When will you choose yours?
This place is all about signing forms for insurance purposes. Do yourself a favor and do not sign paperwork until they actually do there job. Lori is very irresponsible and careless to perform as a leader and the staff… are very fake as if they care for your children or family. There agenda is paperwork and forms to back there terrible treatment plan that’s efforts are minimal and pretty uneducated . The first meeting showed as if two individual councils observe and participate..... that’s not the case at all and frankly the lack of care after the program gets involved is pretty noticeable and upfront. Although they come across as interested there were two accounts they didn’t even show and I had to call to ask why, the response was”ohhh I’m sorry, I’m in Pittsburgh, can we schedule for next week, then it was indicating they were with my kid one week independently at her moms and when I talked to my child she informed me they never came. I called Lori the director to ask questions and she never responded. Do your children and family a favor and use another provider who will actually perform instead of false promises and careless behaviors.
