Rehabs That Take VA Community Care

VA Community Care lets veterans receive addiction treatment from a non-VA provider at VA expense, where the VA cannot deliver the care itself within reasonable time or distance. It is not separate insurance. It is the VA paying an outside facility, and the authorization has to come from the VA first.

That sequence matters more than anything else on this page. A veteran who admits to a facility and seeks reimbursement afterward will usually be refused. Start with your VA facility or the community care office, establish eligibility against the access standards, and get the authorization before treatment begins.
