Which Hawaiian islands have treatment and which do not?

Oahu has most of it. The June 2026 accreditation list places 14 accredited residential and therapeutic living programs on Oahu, 7 on Hawaii Island and 2 on Maui, with no Kauai section at all (Hawaii Department of Health, ADAD accredited provider list, revised June 2026). No island breakdown of overdose deaths is published, so capacity rather than rate is what can be mapped.

How many rehab centers are in Hawaii?

Hawaii has 87 drug and alcohol rehab centers listed on RehabSeekers.com. Of those, 9 offer medical detox, 10 offer residential treatment, 82 offer outpatient care and 6 provide medication-assisted treatment. The figures are live and change as facilities join or leave the directory.

The state publishes nothing comparable: its June 2026 list names 23 accredited residential and therapeutic living programs held by 21 organizations, and several organizations hold more than one. Outpatient clinics, opioid treatment programs and counselors in private practice never appear on it.

Oahu holds the only substantial cluster, divided between Honolulu and East Honolulu, which draw on one pool of providers. Maui’s island page is the second, and the smaller communities listed there, Waikapu listings, Maalaea providers and Waihee-Waiehu options, return the same Wailuku and Kahului programs.

Hawaii has no neighboring state. There is no border to cross and no nearby state page worth sending a reader to, and moving for treatment here means moving between islands by air.
