Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions about Ireland

Answered from what is listed here.

How is addiction treatment regulated in Ireland?

Ireland has no license for addiction treatment, and in 2018 the Department of Health, the government ministry for health, stated that no legislation provides for regulating or inspecting residential addiction treatment centers and that it has no jurisdiction over private providers.

Services funded by the Health Service Executive (HSE), Ireland's public health service, must meet the minimum standards in their service level agreements, while HSE-backed directories at drugs.ie and drugsandalcohol.ie list services by county.

Residential Rehabhttps://rehabseekers.com/programs/residential/
Who can I call for addiction help in Ireland?

The HSE Drugs and Alcohol Helpline is a free, confidential freephone line on 1800 459 459, open weekdays from 9:30am to 5:30pm, and it also answers email at helpline@hse.ie.

Callers get information, support and referral, and a GP or the local HSE addiction service offers another way into treatment.

Recovery Support Serviceshttps://rehabseekers.com/support-services/recovery-support-services/
How much does private rehab cost in Ireland?

A month of private residential treatment in Ireland falls within an estimated typical range of €8,900 to €23,700, and a month of medical detox between €5,300 and €16,600. Day programs sit at €5,300 to €11,200 monthly, and weekly outpatient sessions at €1,100 to €3,600.

Drug and alcohol rehab in Ireland is reached mainly through the HSE, the Health Service Executive that runs the country’s public health service and provides addiction treatment through its Local Health Offices. Outpatient care is listed at most of the rehabs in Ireland, and residential treatment and inpatient hospital care at some.

Rehab in Ireland is listed city by city, with pages for Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford. A GP can assess someone and refer them on, but a person can also contact the local HSE addiction service directly, so a referral letter is not the only way in.

The Irish listings are compiled from public service directories, accreditor listings, official records and information sent in by providers. Ireland has no statutory license for addiction treatment, according to the Department of Health, so the listings describe services rather than a license status. Publicly funded treatment appears at most of the country’s rehabs.
