Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source. From an official register, or added and checked by our team.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Do you run a treatment service?

If it is already listed, claim it to correct details, add photographs and reply to reviews. If it is not listed, add it.

Free, wherever you are. Nothing you do here changes where you appear.

Substance Use Disorder Recovery Programs in Baton Rouge, LA

One date matters more than most people on Healthy Louisiana currently realize. From January 1, 2027, adults aged 19 to 64 must report 80 hours a month of work, volunteering or training, $580 in monthly earnings, or half-time study. Taking part in a qualifying substance use disorder treatment program is a listed exemption, as is being medically frail, a category the Louisiana Department of Health defines to include substance use disorder. Reporting runs through mymedicaid.la.gov or the Emmy app, so entering treatment protects coverage rather than risking it.

The capital is not a thin market. 23 are gathered here, the closest sitting 2 miles away in Baton Rouge, with coverage across Southdowns, Baton Rouge, Mid City Baton Rouge, Downtown Baton Rouge, Zachary and Scotlandville. Widen the radius and 30 come into range, which for most schedules is a good number of options.

There are no parish behavioral health agencies below the state. Ten regional local governing entities run public services instead, and East Baton Rouge Parish falls under the Capital Area region. Which door you use depends on who pays: Medicaid members go through their Healthy Louisiana plan, uninsured residents through the regional human services body and its own clinics. Pregnant people who use drugs and people who inject drugs are meant to face no or minimal wait.

Programs are licensed by the Health Standards Section under the Behavioral Health Service Provider license, and counselors are credentialed separately by the Addictive Disorder Regulatory Authority. One gap is worth naming: the FY27 budget, which adds $6.5 million to the Office of Behavioral Health for crisis services, identifies Baton Rouge as having lacked an adult mobile crisis team.

Which Level of Care Do You Need

An assessment is deciding intensity and supervision, not commitment, and the plan should loosen as someone stabilizes. Locally that spans outpatient services.

Detox and Residential Treatment

Medically supervised withdrawal is indicated by physical dependence on alcohol, opioids or benzodiazepines rather than by how much someone used, and it usually runs three to seven days. Residential treatment follows, measured in weeks.

Withdrawal management is not indicated among these listings.

Outpatient, IOP and PHP Treatment

Count these in hours per week. Partial hospitalization fills most of a weekday, with the person sleeping at home. Intensive outpatient runs nine to fifteen hours over three or four sessions, often in the evening. Standard outpatient is a weekly appointment that survives a job.

All three are indicated in the city. Partial hospitalization is offered by 0 of the listings here, intensive outpatient by 0 and standard outpatient by 20, with medication-assisted treatment carried by 0. Against 206 statewide, that is the advantage of starting in the capital rather than commuting in.

Dual Diagnosis and Sober Living

Dual diagnosis means one team holding the psychiatric diagnosis and the substance use disorder together rather than referring one out. Among the listings shown, 0 indicate that combined approach, and it is fair to ask whether prescribing and therapy sit under the same roof.

Recovery housing is not indicated among these listings.

Cost, Insurance and Local Support in Baton Rouge, LA

Across Louisiana, withdrawal management typically runs $1,540 to $4,900 a week, residential treatment $6,000 – $25,000 and outpatient care $1,200 – $5,000. Among these listings, most accept Healthy Louisiana, where behavioral health is carved in to the plans rather than run by a separate statewide vendor. A federal waiver in force since February 1, 2018 and extended through December 31, 2027 also lets Medicaid pay for residential treatment in settings the usual federal rule excludes, so a bed is a realistic option for members. Wider comparisons sit on the Louisiana page.

Standard rehab and detox, Louisiana market
Level of careMonthlyDaily
Medical detox (7–14 days)$1,540 to $4,900 a week$220 – $700
Residential inpatient$6,000 – $25,000$200 – $830
PHP$7,000 – $13,000$230 – $430
IOP$2,500 – $9,000$80 – $300
Outpatient$1,200 – $5,000$40 – $170

Hospitals and Emergency Services in Baton Rouge, LA

Coming off alcohol or a long benzodiazepine prescription is the scenario where withdrawal can kill, and it is the reason hospital distance belongs in the decision at all. The General runs the nearest emergency department to Baton Rouge, and five emergency departments sit within five miles. Restricting the count to emergency departments leaves six inside twenty-five miles. The closest few are The General, Womans Hospital and Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.

Hospital access matters in two ways. Where hospitals are, treatment tends to follow, so their distribution explains a good deal about what an area does and does not offer. No detox is listed here, so anyone physically dependent will be traveling for it, and the hospital picture is worth weighing alongside the treatment options. Joint Commission accreditation is held by a minority of what is listed here. It is voluntary and reviewed by an outside body, so it says more than a license does.
