Great ppl I enjoyed it being there
An absolute funny farm. I was detoxing for five days off of pain meds and lo and behold I’m stuck with mental asylum patients. The techs are poorly trained. The rooms are disgusting (I know. Not expecting a Hilton). The… meals are worse than jail. Do NOT go here if you need a detox. Go to Serenity. Or anywhere else. This place is trash!
Horrible place
Me and my fellow grippy sock mates had a blast. We got four smoke breaks a day and the provided real cigarettes, none of that hand rolled garbage. They even let us have real pencils as well! We got to talk about our… feats of addiction, trauma, petty crimes and the things we would do for $20. I saw an unruly psych patient come in and get aggressive with the staff. They handled it well and were able to give him a night night shot. It was the most entertaining event I experienced in a hospital. The food wasn't on par unfortunately I had to shoot a lot of water to get it down. The beds weren't great but I just pretended like I was camping on a cot instead. The flooring could use some updating and a little paint would go a long way. Some of the techs were a little jaded but the counselors and psychiatrists were easy to talk to. Definitely some room for improvement but all in all my most exciting psych ward yet.
Nursing staff is the greatest when you feeling down and out trying to get ya self together. So you N.O. I'll go back to get my temperature checked 🥵🥰💘🤤🙀🤱🏽😻😽
violated my rights and was yelled at by the staff to where i had a panic attack and wasn't allowed to leave my room by one of the techs to get my meds that i take whenever i am having one. they also lost my bag with… some of my jewelry in it but somehow had my id that was in that bag. also they let me out while i was obviously manic. i would never recommend someone to go here.
I spent a week at this facility and am grateful for it. I had a breakdown due to stress and pressures from outside my control. Is it a perfect facility? No, but the staff does a great job in taking care of patients.… They deal with a huge range of personalities, substance abuse users, psychotic issues and many more things on an hour by hour basis. The staff is not there for monetary reasons. They are there because they care. Anyone who implies otherwise is just complaining. Thanks to the staff who helped me immensely, I am doing much better because they taught me strategies to help me take care of myself.
horrible this place is not very welcoming staff MHT leaves floor unattended while patients run around with mental health problems. medical doctors are trash and do not care for patients 100%. however upon leaving that… would be the most information you’ll receive the only staff on the shift that’s attentive are NURSEs social workers are not great at helping they refused to call transportation for me and my health conditions we’re never a concern medication was never ordered . 0 starz for you seaside. however i did sleep good
This place is very unprofessional, lazy and neglectful. There was a girl that is so bad off and they won’t treat her how she deserves to be treated. This girl can’t even take care of herself or shower herself and they… kept her in the same clothes for the whole time she was there. No staff would give her a shower but they wouldn’t stop complaining about how the hospital smelled bad because of her. They didn’t even give me any of my medication whenever I was discharged and just expected me to be able to go get it on my own?! So big about staying on your meds but won’t give you the meds they were giving me while I was in. The staff would let the women get harassed and verbally harassed and they wouldn’t say anything about it nor try to stop it. Fights almost happened 24/7 and they didn’t get stopped until somebody got hurt. They also allowed slasher movies to be shown on the tv which shouldn’t be allowed in a psych ward. One of the books I was reading was about a serial killer. There was only a handful of staff members that actually cared about us. You couldn’t even talk to a doctor unless it was on their timing. The food was always cold and unseasoned. One girl found finger nail clippings in her cornbread. This place is basically just a holding cell for people and they don’t actually help you. Even the people that were in there for detoxing was getting other patients meds that they weren’t taking. No privacy in the bathrooms whatsoever but the men for some reason didn’t have to share a room with anyone. There was a guy that had kicked a fence that was locked down, he got put in handcuffs but got discharged the day after. WHAT THE HELLLLLLLLL. I was on my best behavior the whole time and I didn’t get let out for 10 days. This place is ridiculous and completely unprofessional and they don’t help whatsoever. A huge waste of my time and money.
The food was good and I was helped.
I was taught that if you don't have anything good to say don't say anything. I wish this place the best and I let God do the rest.
The hospital itself was very depressing. Dr. Atluri is very rude and doesn’t care about her patients at all. The food was disgusting and I left the facility feeling more depressed and anxious. Dr.Atluri also doesn’t… listens to her patients and feels that because her life was dealt to her a certain way that everyone else should make better decisions.
You all should be ashamed of yourselves. The bad is outweighing the good. You all need some training to change the experience people have. Remember, addicts already have deep pain, don't add to it. Treat people like… humans and not just numbers to get paid: Compassion goes a long way, Find ways to improve. May God bless addicts. Baton Rouge has to do better!
horrible place!! My roommate had left feces on the toilet bowl and the staff expected me to pick it up… fights were not broken up unless skin touched skin and threats were not recognized. all in all really… unprofessional and lazy staff don’t expect actual help here…
Would leave 0 stars if it would let me. I would rather never ask for help again than go back here. Please go to mid city or anywhere else instead
My experience here was bad bedbugs had roommates from the next room sharing restrooms and put blood and feces all over it was very bad and I've been some rough places
This hospital is a joke. First thing that happened is they claimed that my daughter's cell phone and 2 rings did not make it to the facility with her. This resulted in me and my husband spending multiple hours on the… phone with the ambulance and also reviewing security footage at the transferring hospital attempting to find out what happened to the phone. The thing that is really despicable is that I was told it was documented that the patient said she had these items but they were not with her upon arrival. I actually made a call to the facility the day before she was discharged inquiring about phone and was told those exact words, then a miracle occurred the very next day. The phone was located. They claim that it was wasn't labeled and therefore they didn't know it was her property. On top of all the sketchy events with the cell phone, I was contacted when she was admitted about the availability of a medication she takes. They could not get it. I drove 3 hours to bring that medication, arriving at midnight and upon discharge they didn't send the medication with her. They did not notify me of her discharge, but when they forgot the medication, they called me. I informed them they needed to call the people they discharged her to, that I did not have contact with her. They asked ME who those people were. They were the ones that had discharged her! Natalie the nurse hung up with me, then called me back saying she didn't have their number and then stated, "I just have to notify SOMEONE." I informed her "Well, that SOMEONE isn't me." She did not care if my daughter got the medication that was so important I drove 3 hours to bring , arriving at midnight. She just needed to be able to document that she told someone. It is amazing how they cannot inform me that she is being discharged until THEY NEEDED something from me. Amazing how that "selective HIPPA" works. I admit, there were a couple nurses who were very helpful and seemed to genuinely care about my daughter, but most of the staff was not concerned in the least. My daughter arrived on a Saturday morning, stayed in bed Saturday and Sunday refusing to interact with anyone. Then she was discharged on Thursday morning with only an addition of Zoloft. I am so glad they spent quality time trying to find out what was going on with her. She is no better off than when she arrived. All this hospital stay did was cost me money and time! (2 -- 3 hour trips to Baton Rouge and numerous hours on the phone chasing items that were negligently mishandled by this facility!) Certainly didn't help save my daughter. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT THIS FACILITY!! TAKE YOUR LOVED ONE SOMEWHERE THAT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND NOT JUST MAKE THEMSELVES A DOLLAR!! 7/17/24 I am editing this to update… My daughter died January 17, 2024. Six months ago today. The very thing I told the idiots at this hospital would happen did happen!! It is sad that they wouldn’t take the time to actually see what was really going on and help save my daughter.
This place is horrible. After them getting me a ride there I was told when I got there that I'd have to wait 36-48 HOURS before they would give me any Subutex. Any heroin addict knows that u usually start… feeling/getting those detox symptoms after about 12-15 hours. Maybe 8 hours for some. So supposedly now the "new rule" is that they can't give u anything until u reach that timeline. So now u have to sit there and suffer for well over a whole day. If ur an addict PLEASE be mindful of this. I immediately left because thankfully they hadn't done my paperwork yet so I wasn't admitted yet. Then I was stranded in baton rouge. They wouldn't bring me back because all they want is to milk the Medicaid so of course they want u to stay.
this place actively made my mental health significantly worse
Worst place ever to be sent to.I was sent here from the regular hospital for severe depression and let me tell you these people don’t gaf about you at all.You don’t eat unless another person come and say they are giving… out plates and it was overwhelming sharing a bathroom with three other people. The shower was cold and short. They only give u a tiny bit of soap that’s suppose to cover everything but don’t.The only solution that they give you is more and more meds. This facility still haunts me til this day.I still have nightmares.I will never in my life volunteer myself again especially when it don’t help you at all.
A patient had a loaded gun on the unit for 7 days and none of the administrators caught this until the very end of patient stay . Administrators treat hard working staff poorly and are very rude !
Of course I wanted to be able to leave a good bit of the time BUT I can say I really enjoyed my time at their facility. Id met another client that'd even been a repeat customer! Four times I think he said. Schedule… posted on bulletin is mostly followed. Smoke breaks, five daily. Group and rec time really made this place shine. TV and card games went on the entire day excluding here and there. Vitals (2x daily) were the only REQUIRED times. They keep the number of patients closer to 20 so waiting never was a issue. And for the most part their staff was pleasant and courteous. Jason you're the Best! Most patients leave in five to seven days. I had gone through a really bad entery route: entering from a Hospital; Lady of the Lake. From what I heard from others I could have checked myself in directly at their facility, don't make that same mistake! (:
If i could rate this place 0 stars I would, my boyfriend went to detox off alcohol before rehab . They gave him Suboxone which is for heroin and opiate withdrawl , NEVER ONCE was opiates , drugs, heroin, needles or… ANYTHING of the sort mentioned my me or him or any case worker at check in he even took a pee test and breathalizer apon entry it was made VERY clear he was there to detox off alcohol . Suboxone or any meds given to the wrong person can be dangerous , life threatening even , when i called and asked about it ive been told it was "human error" HOW??? How does a person with alcohol on their paperwork get mixed up HOW?? he left the next day and i sent him to a better facility . Seaside doesnt seam to care they could have KILLED my boyfriend , they could have KILLED anyone for that matter , if they messed up his meds whos to say they wont mix up your loved ones? Luckily my boyfriend didnt give up and continued his journey into recovery but this could have been the end of him , they could have killed him , he was also mixed in with phyc patients, like severely mentally ill and dangerous people and no one warned us he would be mixed in with them even though he was only there for alcohol detox
I was I was at this place for 9 days and it was okay the doctor that I talked to was very respectful he even like my idea of getting a Nintendo switch there and if I ever talk to them I will imply on that
Never go here if you can
