Rehabs by setting in Nashua

Where each part of the area sits, and what is on its doorstep.

Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source. From an official register, or added and checked by our team.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Do you run a treatment service?

If it is already listed, claim it to correct details, add photographs and reply to reviews. If it is not listed, add it.

Free, wherever you are. Nothing you do here changes where you appear.

Substance Misuse Treatment in Nashua, NH

A rule change landing on January 1, 2027 is worth knowing about now. Under a federal regulation published in June 2026, adults aged 19 to 64 in the Medicaid adult group must show eighty hours a month of work, community service, a work program or half-time study. Anyone taking part in a drug or alcohol treatment program is a specified excluded individual, and so is exempt. Being in treatment does not put coverage at risk.

Locally the picture is better than most of the state. 14 are gathered on this page, they reach into Downtown Nashua, and 36 sit within twenty-five miles once the Merrimack Valley towns are included. People searching from here commonly also look at Hudson, East Merrimack, Londonderry and Derry, which together make this a reasonable choice.

Greater Nashua hosts one of the state’s nine Doorways. They are run by hospitals rather than by Hillsborough County or a state office, they were only put into statute in 2025, and every one of them is reached the same way: dial 211, at any hour. Screening and evaluation, medication, naloxone, recovery housing access and peer support all come through that route.

Depth is the difference between a page like this one and a small-town page. Of what is listed, most offer outpatient care and a substantial share indicate medication-assisted treatment, measured against 100 statewide. Oversight, though, is thinner than people assume: only opioid treatment programs are certified by the state, residential facilities are licensed separately, and the general rules that once covered other providers lapsed in 2009.

Which Level of Care Do You Need

New Hampshire builds its Medicaid benefit on ASAM levels of care, so the language a program uses at intake should match the ladder below. Here that ladder runs to outpatient services.

Detox and Residential Treatment

Supervised withdrawal is about physiology, not resolve. Alcohol and benzodiazepines can turn genuinely dangerous without medical cover, opioid withdrawal is punishing rather than lethal, and either way the acute phase is short. Residential care is the longer stay that follows.

Withdrawal management is not indicated at a city address here.

Outpatient, IOP and PHP Treatment

Three intensities live under one label. Partial hospitalization is close to a full weekday with nights at home, intensive outpatient compresses the week into a few longer sessions, and standard outpatient is one appointment that leaves work and childcare intact.

All three are indicated inside the city, which is not true of much of New Hampshire: 0 offer partial hospitalization, 0 run intensive outpatient and 12 hold standard sessions, while 0 can see someone by video when a commute is the obstacle.

Dual Diagnosis and Sober Living

Treating a mood or anxiety disorder alongside substance use is the norm rather than a specialty, and 0 indicate it here. Ten community mental health centers cover the state and also serve substance misuse, so a psychiatric appointment is not the same wait as a treatment bed.

Recovery housing is not indicated at a city address, though 0 sit within twenty-five miles, and a Doorway can open access to housing directly. Raise it while a residential stay is still in progress, since the arrangement is far easier to make before a discharge date than after one.

Cost, Insurance and Local Support in Nashua, NH

Prices across New Hampshire land at $1,750 to $5,600 a week for supervised withdrawal, $7,000 – $30,000 for residential care and $1,500 – $5,500 for outpatient work. Locally, almost all of listings accept New Hampshire Medicaid. Coverage for low-income adults runs through Granite Advantage, and since behavioral health is carved in to the managed care organizations, the plan someone is enrolled with determines which doors open. The New Hampshire page sets this against the rest of New Hampshire.

Standard rehab and detox, New Hampshire market
Level of careMonthlyDaily
Medical detox (7–14 days)$1,750 to $5,600 a week$250 – $800
Residential inpatient$7,000 – $30,000$230 – $1000
PHP$8,000 – $15,000$270 – $500
IOP$3,000 – $10,000$100 – $330
Outpatient$1,500 – $5,500$50 – $180

Hospitals and Emergency Services in Nashua, NH

Coming off alcohol or a long benzodiazepine prescription is the scenario where withdrawal can kill, and it is the reason hospital distance belongs in the decision at all. St Joseph Hospital runs the nearest emergency department to Nashua, and two emergency departments sit within five miles. Counting only those with an emergency department, five sit inside twenty-five miles. The closest few are St Joseph Hospital, Southern Nh Medical Center and Parkland Medical Center.

Hospital access matters in two ways. Emergency response is only half of it. The intensive levels of care cluster around hospitals, so their absence narrows the local options considerably. No detox is listed nearby, which puts more weight on hospital distance than would normally be the case. Where two programs look alike on paper, accreditation is worth weighing: a minority of those listed here are Joint Commission accredited.
