Treatment Centers in New Hampshire That Accept Cigna

Cigna Healthcare covers drug and alcohol rehab in New Hampshire through employer health plans, with behavioral health run by its sister company Evernorth Behavioral Health. Cigna sells no individual marketplace, Medicare Advantage or Medicaid plans in the state, so coverage here comes from an employer’s Open Access Plus, PPO or similar plan.

Each listing below shows the program’s phone number, levels of care and accreditation, drawn from government treatment registers and New Hampshire licensing records. Use the filters to narrow by city or level of care, then ask the program whether it contracts with Evernorth Behavioral Health, the network Cigna members use for addiction treatment.

Does Cigna Cover Rehab in New Hampshire?

Yes, for members of Cigna employer plans. Cigna lists substance use benefits as inpatient and outpatient treatment with follow-up case management, and New Hampshire employers buy that coverage on the national Open Access Plus or PPO network. Programs taking Cigna Healthcare plans in New Hampshire appear among the listings below.

Cigna’s role in New Hampshire is employer coverage only. The state is not among the 11 where Cigna sold individual plans for 2026, a business Cigna is leaving for 2027, and it sold its Medicare Advantage plans to Health Care Service Corporation in March 2025. Evernorth Behavioral Health administers the behavioral benefit for New Hampshire members.

Does Cigna Cover Inpatient Rehab in New Hampshire?

Yes. Cigna covers inpatient substance use rehab and residential treatment with insurance when Evernorth Behavioral Health authorizes the stay. Its behavioral FAQ places detoxification, inpatient and residential treatment, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs under facility-based care, and for the inpatient and residential levels authorization is always required.

How does Cigna decide the length of a New Hampshire rehab stay?

Cigna does not publish a fixed day count; Evernorth Behavioral Health reviews each stay for medical necessity using the ASAM Criteria for substance use levels of care and MCG Behavioral Health Guidelines for mental health care. Authorization for further days comes through the same review, and the employer’s plan document sets any benefit limits.

Does Cigna need prior authorization for residential rehab in New Hampshire?

Yes. Authorization starts with a face-to-face assessment by the program’s staff, who then call the number on the back of the member’s ID card with clinical information. One small group Open Access Plus document, from Tennessee in 2025, states that pre-authorization is required on all inpatient admissions, the same rule the Evernorth grid applies.

Does Cigna Cover Detox in New Hampshire?

Yes. Cigna describes two detox levels: ambulatory detox, which the Evernorth grid lists as needing no authorization, and inpatient detox with 24-hour medical care, which does need it. A New Hampshire member can search medical detox programs or outpatient detox options here and ask the program which level it provides.

Does Cigna Cover Outpatient Rehab in New Hampshire?

Yes. Cigna’s treatment guide describes intensive outpatient programs meeting three to five days a week for three to four hours a day, and partial hospitalization programs meeting five to seven days a week for six to eight hours. Whether either needs authorization depends on the plan, so Evernorth tells programs to call and ask about both.

Routine outpatient care needs no authorization under Cigna: individual, family and group psychotherapy, diagnostic evaluations and medication management visits all appear on Evernorth’s no-authorization list. Cigna’s stated access standards are urgent care within 48 hours and routine care within 10 working days. Virtual visits through MDLIVE, Talkspace and other partners are paid at parity with in-person care.

Does Cigna Cover Suboxone, Methadone and Other Addiction Medications in New Hampshire?

Yes. Cigna ended prior authorization for buprenorphine medications for opioid use disorder in October 2016 under a settlement described as national for commercial plans, and pharmacy benefits run through Express Scripts, part of Evernorth. Specialty drugs go through Accredo, and Cigna Home Delivery Pharmacy answers at 1 (800) 835-3784.

Does Cigna cover Suboxone in New Hampshire?

Yes. On Cigna’s Standard 3-Tier drug list, generic buprenorphine-naloxone sits at Tier 1 and brand Suboxone at Tier 3, while Zubsolv is Tier 2. Buprenorphine induction as a provider service needs no authorization on the Evernorth grid. Other employer drug lists can differ, and Suboxone providers taking insurance appear in the listings.

Does Cigna cover methadone in New Hampshire?

Yes. Methadone given as a provider-administered outpatient service is on Evernorth Behavioral Health’s list of covered services that need no authorization, and cost sharing follows the employer’s plan. Members looking for methadone clinic programs can filter the listings by medication, then call the program to ask about its Evernorth contract.

Does Cigna cover Vivitrol and acamprosate in New Hampshire?

Yes on the standard list. Acamprosate sits at Tier 1 and Lucemyra at Tier 2 with a quantity limit, and Cigna’s 2026 drug list changes made no change for Vivitrol or naltrexone. Brand Narcan moved to Tier 3 from July 1, 2026, with generic naloxone named as the lower-cost choice. See Vivitrol shot programs.

Cigna Rehab Centers by New Hampshire’s Lakes, Ski Country and the Connecticut River

Cigna’s Open Access Plus and PPO networks are national rather than drawn county by county, so a New Hampshire setting changes the scenery, not the benefit. The questions that matter anywhere in the state are whether the program contracts with Evernorth Behavioral Health and whether the stay has been authorized.

Cigna rehab in the Lakes Region

Lake Winnipesaukee, Squam Lake and Newfound Lake lie between Laconia, Belmont and Bristol in Belknap and Grafton counties. A Cigna member choosing a lakeside residential program there needs Evernorth authorization before admission, as anywhere else. Treatment programs in Belmont and rehab programs near lakes are listed.

Cigna rehab in White Mountains ski country

North Conway, Lincoln and Waterville Valley sit among the White Mountains ski areas of Carroll and Grafton counties. Cigna members there who are far from a counselor can use MDLIVE and other virtual partners at the same reimbursement as in-person care. Littleton rehab programs and rehabs near ski resorts are listed too.

Cigna rehab along the Connecticut River

Lebanon, Hanover, Claremont and Enfield follow the Connecticut River on the Vermont line. Open Access Plus and PPO members there carry out-of-network coverage, while SureFit plans do not, so crossing the river matters only on some designs. Claremont treatment centers and rehab centers near rivers are listed.

How Do I Find a Rehab That Accepts Cigna in New Hampshire?

Browse the listings on this page. Each one shows the program’s phone number and levels of care, so a call goes directly to the program, which can say whether it contracts with Evernorth Behavioral Health. Listings for treatment programs across New Hampshire can be narrowed by city, substance and level of care.

Once a program is chosen, its staff assess the member in person and contact Cigna for authorization of inpatient, residential or detox care. Cigna’s behavioral health benefits line, 1 (800) 433-5768, answers 24 hours a day, and myCigna shows plan coverage. The plan designs below set the out-of-network rules.

Cigna rehab in Manchester

Manchester members on a Cigna Open Access Plus plan need no primary care physician or referral to start treatment, and the plan includes out-of-network coverage at a lower level. Outpatient therapy there needs no authorization, and inpatient care needs Evernorth’s. Downtown Manchester treatment programs are among the city listings.

Cigna rehab in Nashua

Nashua sits on the Massachusetts line, and Cigna PPO members there have out-of-network coverage with a smaller cost difference than Open Access Plus, which helps when a program across the border is not contracted. Can I use Cigna for rehab outside New Hampshire?

Yes on Open Access Plus and PPO designs, which use Cigna’s national network of physicians and hospitals and include out-of-network coverage. SureFit plans cover no out-of-network care, and Cigna tells members to ask about a program’s participation before booking. Behavioral programs join that network through Evernorth, with credentialing separate from the medical side.

How much does rehab cost with Cigna in New Hampshire?

Costs follow the employer’s plan. Cigna employer plans carry no separate behavioral health deductible, and its plan documents usually show outpatient therapy as a flat copay outside the deductible, with inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient care under coinsurance after the deductible. Sliding scale outpatient programs are also listed.

Cigna is one of several ways to pay for treatment in New Hampshire. New Hampshire Medicaid, which Cigna does not administer here, runs through three state health plans described under Medicaid rehab coverage, and Evernorth-contracted programs in Portsmouth rehab centers and elsewhere are listed by level of care.
