Does Wellcare Cover Rehab in Hawaii?

Yes. Wellcare covers drug and alcohol rehab in Hawaii through Wellcare ‘Ohana Dual Align, a 2026 Medicare special needs plan whose Summary of Benefits lists substance use disorder services and behavioral health care, and through ‘Ohana Health Plan’s QUEST Medicaid plan until December 31, 2026. Members in Ewa Beach treatment programs or Hilo hold the same plans.

Wellcare is Centene’s Medicare brand and works in Hawaii through ‘Ohana Health Plan, a WellCare Health Plans company whose Medicare products took the Wellcare name on January 1, 2022. ‘Ohana won a statewide QUEST contract in 2021 but says it will leave QUEST at the end of 2026, so rehabs that accept Wellcare here deal mainly with its Medicare plans.

‘Ohana’s QUEST page tells members it is leaving and posts an important member handbook update in several languages, along with a Transition of Care Policy. Med-QUEST’s other plans are AlohaCare, HMSA and UnitedHealthcare statewide, plus Kaiser Permanente on Oahu and Maui, and Med-QUEST itself answers at 1-800-316-8005 for help choosing one.
