Rehabs Near Major Airports

Proximity to an airport matters when treatment involves a flight. This page ranks facilities by distance from a large commercial airport in each state, taking the five closest, so families arranging travel for someone out of state can see the drive time before they book.

Distance is a logistics detail, not a measure of care. Each listing shows the mileage alongside the levels of care, licensing and payment types a program carries, and our team works to confirm those against published records. Compare what the programs offer before weighing the airport run.

Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions

Answered from what is listed here.

What does rehab near a major airport mean?

It means a treatment program sits a short drive from a commercial airport, chosen for arrival convenience rather than for anything clinical. No federal source defines "near" in drive minutes, so the distance from a particular airport to a particular program has to be checked on a map before booking a flight.

Programs grouped this way are usually within about twenty-five miles of a large commercial airport, with a median separation of roughly two and a half miles.

What is a large hub airport?

A large hub is a commercial service airport that receives 1 percent or more of annual U.S. passenger boardings, under the FAA's statutory definition. The 2025-2029 national airport plan lists 31 of them, and together they handled about 71 percent of all U.S. boardings in calendar 2023.

What is a medium hub airport?

A medium hub receives 0.25 to 1.0 percent of annual U.S. passenger boardings. Small hubs take 0.05 to 0.25 percent and nonhub primary airports less than 0.05 percent while still clearing 10,000 boardings a year. Sacramento International, for example, was coded medium with about 6.37 million boardings in 2023.

A rehab near a major airport is a program chosen partly for how easy it is to reach by a commercial flight. For anyone traveling out of state for treatment, or for a family that plans to visit during a residential stay, the distance between the arrivals curb and the admissions door is a real logistical fact, and it is the one setting consideration that has nothing to do with scenery.

Unlike every other setting term, this one has an official vocabulary behind it. The FAA does not use the phrase major airport at all; it classes commercial airports as large hubs, which each receive 1 percent or more of annual U.S. passenger boardings, medium hubs at 0.25 to 1.0 percent, then small hubs and nonhubs. A search for treatment near a major airport is, in practice, a search near a large or medium hub.

This page covers what the hub classes mean and where they concentrate, the ID and medication rules that apply at the checkpoint on the way to an admission, what aircraft noise does and does not mean for a nearby stay, the levels of care that fit a fly-in search, the usual national costs, and how to shortlist programs by arrival logistics.
