I entered the Morton center on orders by my employer, came out better than I thought I could ever feel! Feel free and able to handle situations now. Iop was a very good learning tool. The staff at the center are best in… the business. I was helped by all parties not just one person. Thank you for allowing me to be in recovery because of your center!
Hostile, Biased, and Deeply Dehumanizing I cannot overstate how appalling my experience at The Morton Center was. I was sent here for a Board of Nursing–ordered evaluation for a matter unrelated to my job. I arrived… expecting a neutral, professional, evidence-based assessment. Instead, I was subjected to what felt like a hostile interrogation by a licensed social worker who had clearly already decided who I was before I even finished speaking. From the start, the tone was accusatory and judgmental. The entire session felt designed not to assess objectively, but to force me into a pre-written narrative. I answered every question honestly and transparently — about my background, habits, and social life. I was cooperative, respectful, and forthcoming. None of that mattered. Near the end of the evaluation, she looked at me and bluntly told me she believed I was lying, insisting I drank more alcohol than I admitted — without a shred of evidence to support that claim. Let that sink in: a licensed evaluator, with enormous power over someone’s livelihood, flat-out accusing a patient of dishonesty based purely on assumption. This was not clinical judgment. This was arrogance, projection, and reckless bias. I was not treated like a patient. I was treated like a criminal. This was not an evaluation. It was punitive. She had clearly made up her mind long before the assessment concluded — possibly before it even began. What followed were excessively harsh, non-substantiated recommendations that could have had devastating financial and mental consequences for me. Decisions like these are not harmless. They can derail careers and lives. To issue them without objective evidence is deeply irresponsible. I left feeling attacked, dismissed, and dehumanized — shocked that someone in a licensed clinical role is allowed to conduct evaluations this way. This is not a place of healing, objectivity, or fairness. This felt like a setup, not an assessment. If you need an unbiased evaluation, stay far away from The Morton Center and Ms. Sides.
2/22/24 that is my sobriety date. I could not have done this without the help of the Morton center. Shout out to Casey in peer support. Love you guys. I’m still a pickle
It says that they work with children but when I brought my kids in it was a big mistake! Definitely wouldn’t recommend it was a horrible experience for my family :(
They informed my case manager at treatment that they offered a morning program. I showed up for an assessment and informed them that it wouldn’t work unless they had a morning program. They charged me for the assessment… up front before letting me know that they didn’t have morning available—they billed my insurance, and are now calling for more money for doing virtually nothing, after misrepresenting their available programs.
The Morton Center is truly a special place. From the receptionists to the case manager, therapists, peer support specialists, and directors, everyone puts their heart and soul into their job and it shows! They have all… helped me reclaim myself and my family and I are so much happier. I would encourage anyone needing help to reach out to The Morton Center, it's like a second home to me and you will find connection and hope!
The best place I’ve been to ! Wonderful staff. The people here really make a person feel cared for.
If you need therapy look no further than the best in Louisville @ the Morton center
I couldn’t have had better care anywhere else. All the staff and I mean all of them are awesome
At a time when I was feeling completely lost, the Morton Center helped give me some control back in my life. They exceeded every expectation and was worth every minute I spent there. Very appreciative and highly… recommend their talented and compassionate team
Nice people and very good response time.
You may feel out of place at first but I loved it by the end I learned a lot about myself as a human.
The Morton Center saved my life.
"Restoring Self, Preserving Family" Strong words, a Morton Center action plan. For me -- a gift "my life." Addiction is a powerful enemy. It robs one of the value of "Choice." The Morton Center IOP program help me… regain my understanding of this value: Choice. They provide a safe environment for me to process my situation, discuss my concerns, and challenged me to build a recovery plan that will reestablish Choice. The Morton Center does not "rid one" of the addiction. It provides one with the tools to FIGHT the addiction. Believe you me this is a "DAILY" fight. For me, "One Day At A Time" is the only way. Still in early recovery, the path is not easy. The energy necessary to Fight On, for me comes from the fellowship and care I continue to receive from the Morton Center, Reestablishing my walk with God, Various AA meetings around town, some old friends and some new ones. My FAMILY is my rock -- they have been nothing but amazing. The Morton Center will help one start the journey of recovery. The hardest step for my journey was just getting started! The Morton Center is where I started and who has helped me Restore Self and Preserve Family. Todd -- Alcoholic: 157 Days Sobriety 6/21/2023
