Sublocade Injection Treatment

Rather than a daily film or tablet, Sublocade is given as a monthly injection under the skin of the abdomen. It removes the daily dosing step, which suits people who find a routine hard to keep or who travel for work. Oral buprenorphine usually comes first.

Because the product is stored and administered on site, not collected from a pharmacy, availability is patchier than for tablets and films. Ask how the injection is supplied, what it costs under your coverage, and how appointments are scheduled. The listings below show locations and payment types.

Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions

Answered from what is listed here.

What is Sublocade?

Sublocade is a once-monthly buprenorphine extended-release injection given under the skin by a healthcare provider to treat moderate to severe opioid use disorder. The liquid forms a solid depot that releases buprenorphine steadily over the month. The label says it should be used as part of a complete treatment program that includes counseling and psychosocial support.

It is a Schedule III product marketed by Indivior, with no A-B rated generic version available.

Suboxone and Buprenorphinehttps://rehabseekers.com/medications/mat/buprenorphine/
How long does a Sublocade shot last?

One injection covers a month, and maintenance injections are given at least 26 days apart. Buprenorphine peaks around 24 hours after the shot and steady-state levels are reached after four to six months of monthly dosing. For someone established on 100 mg, a single 300 mg dose can cover a two-month gap such as extended travel.

The apparent terminal half-life is 43 to 60 days, so levels fall slowly rather than ending abruptly.

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)https://rehabseekers.com/medications/mat/
What doses does Sublocade come in?

Sublocade comes as 100 mg in 0.5 mL and 300 mg in 1.5 mL single-dose prefilled syringes. The label's starting dose is 300 mg, the second injection is also 300 mg, and the recommended maintenance dose after that is 100 mg monthly. A 300 mg monthly maintenance dose may be considered when response is not satisfactory.

Someone long established on 8 mg to 18 mg of daily transmucosal buprenorphine may move to 100 mg as the second dose.

Sublocade is a once-monthly buprenorphine extended-release injection, given under the skin by a healthcare provider, for moderate to severe opioid use disorder. It is the brand product from Indivior, a Schedule III controlled substance, and Indivior states there are no A-B rated generics, so only the brand exists.

The practical difference from a daily film or tablet is where the medication lives. Sublocade is never handed to the patient. It is ordered by a certified setting or pharmacy, kept refrigerated, and injected at an appointment, which means the treatment schedule is a calendar of monthly visits rather than a prescription collected at a counter.

This guide covers what Sublocade is, how the injection is started and given, the dosing schedule and what happens if a dose is missed, what it costs and who pays, how the restricted REMS program shapes access, how it compares with Brixadi, and how to find a program that administers it.
