Helping Associates Inc – Casa Grande

Been with them for 3 or more years. My 11 year old has ASD level 1/2, has been extensively observed and diagnosed. We Initially started for grief therapy after my sons father died and we moved here, far from home. 2… intakes due to a lapse in insurance. 1st intake they accidentally switched my file information with someone else's, thentreated us according to false information. Therapist Dan was often short with me, demanded I begin new hobbies and activities with my son to "help" him, and often pushed a 2 parent home narrative on me (we left an unsafe 2 parent environment before we came here, was not my priority) for what I feel was religious reasons. I had to send my son back home for 6 months as our living situation became rocky. As I worked 3 jobs and saved for a downpayment on a home, CPS was brought up because I "abandoned" my son ( he was still receiving services via zoom and was in the care of his paternal aunt, uncle, grandmother, being cared for) I brought him back earlier than intended, and, because of this, jumped into a falling down trailer because this was all I could afford. After we ended services the 1st time, we reviewed my intake paperwork with Dan. Its then that I found out that they listed me as a drug user in active addiction and in and out of jail and recovery programs. Not a woman with a special needs child grieving. Suddenly, the way I was being treated made ALOT of sense. It got me thinking, that means, the addicts kid, was being treated for grief for a year?!?!?! Also, WHY could I tell the difference between how i was being treated when they believed I was a drug user? Not having internal bias is important in this field. We went back recently and did an intake with Carolyn. 15minutes in, because my son is extremely articulate (I was too!) and because I wouldn't list my sons "autistic traits" like a bad laundry list, she tries to tell me hes probably bi polar, and doesnt need the low dose of med their doctor prescribed, that has helped him immensely by enabling him to sleep and keep us on routine. It seemed really....out of scope, for an intake. We like Sindy, the therapist. She seems to try and view the dynamic as a whole and without personal bias !

My daughter attends Counseling here and I am unable to obtain her records, including dates seen, etc. I have equal rights to these records, however I will need an entire Family Court Trial to force Helping Associates to… comply with my Court order. My daughter does like her Counselor, but unfortunately the Counseling is not helping our relationship. I find the staff to be both combative and unhelpful. This is not helping my family.

Yep, both my kids go here and receive zero progress. If anything, I'd say it's backward progress. I questioned it a lot. Unfortunately, I just now started looking into it, and I see they absolutely shouldn't have been… conducting business.

My adult Autistic, Type 1 Diabetic, Transgender, ADHD, son saw Carolyn. He was very nervous and uncomfortable. Carolyn told him he was bipolar. He has been through extensive testing throughout his life and is very… clearly and obviously autistic and has never been diagnosed with or displayed symptoms of bipolar. Carolyn was very triggering and overwhelming for him and he was in distress when he left. She may be good for other types of people, but for my son it took some time for him to recover from that experience. We didn't and will not go back there again.

I thank my higher self for giving me the courage and guidance, that guided me to Helping Associates!!! I give praise to their therapist and staff!!! Google doesn't have enough stars, because Helping Associates deserves… all the stars that are in Heaven!!! Wm D Brooks

Sometimes, there are great counselors here. They are now very difficult to deal with. I can't seem to get an answer on questions I have or requested information. I was very impressed at first, but, as time has gone on,… it has been harder and harder to work with them.

So far I am not happy ,I had an intake sppt and one therapist appt and now can,t seem to get another one !and I was referred here by sunlife And need help with my depression and anxiety which are both bad and can,t get… no reply or help for a next appointment so far I am not happy ! With the services l am not receiving was really hopeful about this place ! Now I am really starting to get more doubts about this place and feeling myself backing away ! I was not feeling well last week because of my diabetes giving me problems,but this week my Thearpist tells me she wants to do a phone appt as she has a drs appt right at the time she sees me !go on your own time ! Now I am frustrated with her again and I have not been seeing her long !'plus she can't say my name and does not even try !how am I supposed to have respect for.her when she can't use my name.!yeah I want to say to those people that have been to Patel who likes to be called dr Patel and actually isn.t that she really daaoes suck and does like to try you on all different medications that don'.t work and has the nerve to say I don't qualify for help with Aps to stop my electric being not turned off in an emergency I were to medical devices that I need the electric on and have high blood pressure so need ot it on at all times ! I.am.really starting to go off this place ! And my anxiety is not much better.anyway .update on my review for helping associates dated August the 12th 2024 ,Run don't walk from this place as quickly as you can they really suck and have no skills whatsoever to be and call themselves therapists ! Half the time they are not even there ! And when they are they want to talk about themselves! Don't even listen to you and your needs and coping skills do they ever give you! To help manage your problems in the times they are not available which is most the time , I had a bad feeling about this place from the start and I Was right ! Should have not even wasted my time there ! My therapist was the worse and she lied so much to you face she didn't even know how to tell the truth about anything! And I heard so much about her marriage that I didn't want to hear her first name was April and she really hates her husband !like I said the worse therapist yet !

If you are looking to get actual mental health care for you or a loved one, please avoid this facility. I was a client here for a year and a half and my panic attacks got worse and I was unhappy with the lack of… progress. So I left to a much more organized practice. During the transition out, I was asked to stay and see both therapists, I eventually got tired of wasting my time for nothing and told them to cancel all my appointments. I tried to leave kindly and just move on with things. I was then confronted and asked if I wanted to stay on and just try things with a different therapist, I agreed and then was contacted again asking if I preferred male or female, I said I don’t care and then the third call I was told that the supervisors spoke and have decided to close my file because they feel I have reached my goals. And I literally laughed and I asked if it was because my, “therapist,” (I put quotes because they hire anyone and they all work under one persons license there) had spoke to the supervisor and didn’t want me to come back because she didn’t want me talking poorly about her lack of help and how upset I was. And this lady who is supposed to be my case worker, who I never met until the end, said no that it had nothing to do with their decision and I said, then where are they getting their info that I have reached my goals? Then she said, well you are seeing a new therapist anyways and you can’t see both, and I was like, that wasn’t a problem for over a month but now it is? She proceeded to tell me she would have the supervisor call me and I said please do. Been radio silence since. Good riddance.

My son and my wife are going to therapy here and the progress has been really remarkable I can’t wait for myself to get involved and get the therapy i need.

Was referred here from my primary physician and did an intake in January. I was told I needed to wait until April 2nd to see the psychiatrist and was made to do therapy meanwhile. “Therapist” seemed unfit to council me… so I opted for the monthly visit. I have not visited this month due to being sick and today I learned they decided to cancel my appt I was waiting 4 months for. Even though I visited in February and contacted them this month, confirming the appointment for next week. When I called Ashley and reminded her of my plan to see the psychiatrist and the fact thats what I was referred and have been waiting for, she was unsympathetic and told me all she is doing is following company policy.

Horrible experience. I will not be coming back. The woman who did my intake was very rude. I felt uncomfortable.

I love this place it really makes me happy

Great customer service

I was a client there for years and they claimed they help reunite families but they don't. My therapist encouraged me to fight for my grandparents rights but all the information she gave them was negative and because of… it I lost my case. They don't help you they string you along to get your insurance money and use what you tell them against you to lose your family.

The woman I saw here really made a huge impact on my life. She was the first therapist I had ever seen and I am so thankful for her. I think she lightened her case load shortly after I concluded services here. For those… seeking out help, I know its not a one size shoe fits all but I do hope others who are looking for services find their right fit. I know the special soul I met here sure made a difference in my life 🍀

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Even negative stars would be better! My teenage daughter asked to get into counseling. I made her an appointment with this place and we quickly got in for the intake, we’re assigned a… therapist fast. Met with the therapist once and was given an appointment for the next session. I took off work to bring my daughter there, because I was told I HAD to be there with her even though she can drive herself there. We waited 20 minutes then some lady came out and said our therapist wasn’t going to make it and she’d called to reschedule. 3 weeks went by without a call so I finally called the case manager and wouldn’t ya know it therapist calls a day later. I reluctantly agreed to another appointment. She was there for that appointment and scheduled the next session. Called me the day before to let me know she wouldn’t be able to keep the appointment, no problem. Never heard from her again. It’s been almost 2 months. I called and asked to change to a different therapist, receptionist said she’d email the director. Never heard a word again. Really sad when you have youth crying out for help and the adults who are supposed to be there to help don’t care one bit!! Garbage establishment

I am not happy with the service I received from this company. When I called to become a new patient, I got to do the 3 hrs. Intake over the phone, that was great and I felt heard only to find out a few weeks later that… they didn't write down my phone number correctly so the first few weeks went by and I had to call my assigned therapist twice before she called me back. I received an appointment for the next day. My counselor came in to the bldg after I arrived for my 10' appointment with Billie. As she called my name she saw another client of hers waiting longer than me. She stated they must have gotten their Days mixed up because she was supposed to be there the next day. The next appointment I had with her, she called me 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment to Tell me she couldn't make it but to come in the next day, same time. She didn't show up until after 10 but my appointment was at 9. After that I called and told them I wanted to see someone else. They gave me Jacoda. I had to wait another week but finally met with her. She listened to me for about 35 minutes and then instructed me to leave my husband, run for the hills is how she put it. Never scheduled me for a new appointment. I called and left messages for her but still no call back. How the hell are you going to call yourselves helping associates and think that you are actually helping people. I think I should pull my medical records and see if they are billing without seeing the patient cause how else do they make money, the pharmacutical reps? Feeling sad and unheard

Pretty terrible. I had been going here since 2016 or 2017. Patel was kind enough to make me her exam guinea pig on every medication out there that doesn't work, makes you act out of character, impulsive etc. Then when I… decided to go back to school and get off a certain medication( that causes memory loss) to get on one to better suit me, which we had priorly agreed upon once the appropriate time came. She acted aloof and said she wouldn't treat me for it with the only medication known to man that works. When I wasn't happy about it she decided to discharge me after 5+ years of taking my meds as prescribed, keeping my weekly and monthly apps with her and my counselor, doing blood work etc. Such a joke. Extremely disappointed I spent so much time here that, in hindsight, actually set me back 100+ steps vs. flourishing and moving forward in my life.

They never keep scheduled appointments don't return phone calls.

I would give this a negative star review but that's not an option and neither is a zero star. This place has done nothing but waist our time and money and they have done nothing to help our child. They have lied and… changed their instructions. They told us to keep our son out of school and when we raised concerns about it later in another appointment they claimed they never said that even though we have the email to prove it. The therapist said they can't give a diagnosis for scitsophrenia until 18 yrs old but the entire time she kept saying our child was scitsophenic . The dr didn't even know who the therapist was. This place is only KY out to make money and cares nothing about the wellbeing of their patients.

Appears to be a high lack of concern for giving proper treatment. Belive one of the owners lost their Arizona license, believe at least one of their certified counselors has been in front of the Arizona board three… times and still works for the agency, and there are questionable situations of their Medical Health Supervisor. I suggest strong consideration and further research prior to using any of their services.

I felt pill pressured even when I told them I didn’t want that. So I took the pills they prescribed and it was horrible I couldn’t get out of bed. I felt like a zombie. I was also put in a room a lot to watch videos… when I just wanted to talk to someone. I don’t know where to go now because I now have trust issues.
