You know the cops who took me their did a better job these people don't even do research heads up if you wanna petition someone to be funny they will send them to valleywise no matter what didnt happen they believe… paperwork not social media and all ex drug addict work their and say your like me and I think you need it no , lady I dont need to smoke meth .. I rather inhale exhaust from a car
DOES THIS HELP®
I had an appointment today at 4 pm, it was 6 pm, closing time, and they didn't see me. Did they forget? 😡😡😡😡
The Mesa facility is horrific, I did not feel safe here and I was not. They do have headphones at Mesa so that is one positive. I am n/d and pretty much never write bad reviews, so it has to be atrocious for me to… write. It has to be well this. Like anything there were some positives. Let's start off with the smaller stuff staff I have a lot of questions of how there spending there funding, cause they dont get breaks on time, and then take breaks when it is outside time, so a lot of days we were couped up inside for days on end and not going to the gym either, and they dont have a lot of groups like the calendar says its all a farce, a not funny one it is like the place is designed to depress people.) I will say a staff member whose name starts with a C and short Gray hair female, kept me sane, im not mentioning her name because of the nature of this review, she was of the only ones who would go downstairs get donation clothes for us/people who didnt have clothes or shoes, take us outside, to the gym, they needs a raise. They werr always in a good mood. There was two other guys who would take us out as well, so those are the people that actually cared. I got stuck in Valleywise from December to Feb. So, I saw a lot. I was petitioned incorrectly which is under review. The Mesa location is really small, I have ADHD and I was really cooped up. Im told Maryvale is really nice but I am scared to write this review, that they will try to re petition me but I am tired of being silenced. . When they transferred me they transferred me by van. Several of the staff complained how lazy "L" was ---- she is the mean one this and "K" nurse just using initials- did whatever she said but she was getting entitled and lazy too. I have really good hearing so I heard a lot of stuff I wasn't supposed too. K actually was a pretty hard worked just seemed like she got bossed around and couldn't assert herself without what I think is a hostile work environment. This place has a glass partition and they just ignore you, one day I was having chest pains and I couldn't get help cause they were too busy laughing and just waved me off despite me knocking. The glass needs to go and they need to actually have to deal with there patients like other facilities, or have a nurse sit outside the glass. I had been transferred by a van from Phoenix Valleywise, I asked (begged really) for an ambulance due to my seizure disorder and back and neck. They still transferred me by van I dont think its safe. The nurse was up front knowing about my seizure disorder and I was 2 rows behind her laying down for an ambulance due to my seizure disorder and back and neck. The nurse was up front knowing about my seizure disorder and I was 2 rows behind her laying down. She wasn't monitoring me for seizures or safety, so clearly i am not a danger to myself or others. They are also transferring violent and very ill patients in the same manner, I found out. I told the nurse what happened in theI van. Legally I can not talk about it was go surprise "L" she has curly hair. She should have called the hospital or my neurologist. She didnt even take my vitals. Some nurse. I wrote a grievance against the hospital and asked them to send to corporate. Who knows if they did. I also filed a complaint with Mercy Care..Met my roommate and she was very nice. I hope she is ok. I cannot go visit, as I do not feel safe. I was in the bathroom, I was on the toilet when 2 behavioral techs who were male, I am female barged in without even knocking. I was in shock and didnt say anything and they stood there for what most have been 5 minutes I did not have anything in my hand, or was not doing anything dangerous just using the ladies rooms - i finally got my words and told them to get out and stop looking at me. I was so humiliated. And then I was confused. It was nothing compared to what happened while I slept. I woke up to my left arm twisted, im left handed so the arm i wrote complaint with, huge bruise, vaginal pain and trauma. "L" was working. Refused rape kit by Valleywise or 911
Hate leaving reviews for businesses but these businesses need to do better with who they hire the receptionist lady was a TERRIBLE very passive aggressive
I was here back in 2012. The treatment was excellent.
absolutely horrible care-the bed is soaked in urine, and you will NOT meet with your attorney/public defender until it's absolutely last minute. the psychiatrists are also not going to listen to your wishes and they -… as well as the nurses - will coerce you to take the recommended meds they represent in order for you to be discharged at all. this is against the law. when i was released - despite my adverse side effects (rashes and palpitations, inability to breathe), the doctors would not listen to me and forced me to take the same psych meds and the nurse said "if you want to get out of here, you better take these meds". I had an ex partner visit and they allowed him to visit even though he was the person who landed me there in the first place by strangling and punching me, they obviously do not do their research at all. A complete mess of a treatment center. Another woman - refugee advocate - was sent there after being raped and they refused her a rape kit. They refused to let her speak to the police or call the police. They hung up the phone on her and her hair was completely molded. She had obvious signs of domestic abuse and neglect. I had continuously advocated for the type of treatment needed and they neglected to listen to me or advocate for what I needed and/or make the necessary changes to place me in the right treatment center. Then as the final hearing was made, my ex-partner was allowed to be placed on the stand by the state appointed attorney (which should have been completely unethical in the first place) and they both ASKED ME HOW I WOULD LIKE TO SKEW THIS TRIAL. Definitely illegal. When I left, they also magically "lost" all of my artwork and would not return several of my items to me. I received the diagnosis of SMI, which further shows how unethical it would have been to allow me to choose to these things for myself and how unhelpful all of these things were for me at the time due to all of the trauma I had just gone through. After a year and a half of trauma therapy I have come through the pink cloud of trauma bonding with clearer eyes and see how completely unethically I was treated and am ready to speak out.
This place should have more than 20 lawsuit filed against them don't bring your family here. I've stayed here before it is hell on earth they will even deny you water when you need it. From staff to corporate this is as… crooked as it gets. Hell on earth at this facility on all cylinders. What a shame to have to give a star perhaps for the one or two employees I guess that may have been cool in those dark times. Other than that 100% of this place is all fun and games to the employees while there is tens of people around you suffering like they have never before. Im an eye witness to these things. No matter what they might comment back trying to look good don't believe it. You'll end up strapped to a bed with no water and naked as well with barely a blanket over you while your freezing. This place should be shut down.
Thank you to Shelbie in adolescence unit for being an amazing preceptor! She really cares about the kids there.
Food was dried out cold chicken arriving whenever. Not on a schedule.Staff was incompetent lazy and inexperienced. What a money maker to just ignore patients pass out meds and milk the system.I would report them but Id… rather save my breath because it's so bad that they would have to bulldoze this place and start over. Its where you go when you have nowhere else to go
I loved the service how well they handled son. Only thing is that they stole of couple of my sons carthart jeans. So guys, don’t send in good clothes, because you won’t get them back. Smh
I was involuntarily hospitalized at Valleywise Hospital in Mesa, Arizona, and my experience was incredibly disappointing and harmful. During my involuntary stay, the staff failed to provide a proper diagnosis for my… condition. Instead, they simply attributed my psychosis to environmental triggers without any in-depth evaluation or treatment plan. Most concerning was their decision to discharge me back into the exact same environment they identified as the trigger. This felt like complete negligence, as it set me up for failure. Just two weeks later, I suffered another severe episode that landed me in jail—something that could have been prevented with adequate care, follow-up, or a safer discharge plan. Overall, the hospital did not meet basic standards of care for someone in a vulnerable state. I urge leadership to review their protocols for involuntary admissions and discharges. Thank God and Jesus for saving me through this ordeal; without faith, I don't know where I'd be. I hope sharing this helps others seek better options and pushes the hospital to improve.
Ths place is horrible they don't return calls. They falsify records and i'm still running in the street waiting for them to help me...do not go here
Very rude people here at valleywise I feel sorry for anyone’s family members dealing with the staff smh
Best place so far my son was there last month very attentive staff they treated my son with respect they have their own little private room so you can talk to your kid . Wile you visit.(unit 2 )idk about the rest of the… hospital. my fam and I got a good experience from that hospital all the rest of the places that he's been to .it's been the best so far
Last year, I had a virtual visit with a psychiatrist named Erin Nelson. Her treatment caused more harm than good, and I haven’t been able to get it out of my mind. Here’s what happened: I was looking for help because I… was struggling with ADHD. I disclosed all the medications I had been on for ADHD, bipolar, anxiety, and depression. I only got 2-3 hours of sleep and informed her of that (in case she thought I looked rough and wanted to make assumptions). Her response: Twice, she lashed out and said I could find another doctor and that she wasn’t going to give me any stimulants. She asked me if I took fentanyl various times because she didn’t believe me the first time I said no. She was hostile throughout the call. The entire time, it seemed like she didn’t want to listen to me or be there. I NEVER ASKED FOR ANY STIMULANTS. I only mentioned having trouble keeping up with everything in my life, my diagnoses, and my past prescriptions. Not once did I ask for a specific medication or type of medication. I knew her job as a psychiatrist was to manage psychiatric medications, so I brought up my history. I never asked her to prescribe me anything specific for ADHD, anxiety, or anything else. I trusted she would listen to me and use the information I shared appropriately. I thought disclosing my medical history with her would help her make a proper evaluation. I had no expectations but did not expect her poor treatment. I don’t know why she treated me like that. Patients deserve better. She didn’t help me AT ALL, and now, to this day, I’m plagued with questions about why she behaved that way. At the very least, I was able to see that even a mental health specialist needed help as well, and that made me feel less insane. It helped me understand that if she’s under so much stress, it’s understandable that I am, too. We’re only human and can only take so much. However, it didn’t seem like she enjoyed her job one bit. Even on a bad day, I’ve seen countless people practice more kindness and professionalism. I had to double-check that she was an actual doctor and not a student because it was unbelievable. Because of this, I'm weary of reaching out for mental help again. It feels better writing about this and getting it off my chest. I couldn't report Dr. Erin Nelson for being unprofessional and rude, and I don’t know who to talk to about this or how to fix the harm she caused that day.
Why aren't any instructions for visitation? I coocked healthy hamburgers for my son, only to find out they will not allow homecooked, only fast food purchased!
shut it down.
The have the best workers of all time. They are really patient with the patients.
I'm currently a patient which is taken full advantage of. I've been waiting to be discharged all day and I'm Completely ignored or treated badely
I overdosed on an injection of Abilify loosing consciousness within 24 hours from Dr. Mostafa Sherazy. I had a traumatic brain injury days before first seeing him and he misdiagnosed me without doing any testing or… evaluations. He is a terrible doctor and should have his license revoked. Worst doctor in Az. This place is hell and does not heal anyone. All the products they have for shampoo etc are toxic for the body. Send your loved ones anywhere else. If I wasn’t financially comfortable I would have sued for damages.
Terrible Phone system. Leaving Multiple VM w/ no response after being told to call.
Trying to get information over the phone from was like talking to an echo. They kept re-asking the questions that I just answered and they provided me no useful information.
Clients are not commonly an active part of their stay, here. Openly languishing people asking for meds that they receive on some occasion and taken off with no recourse over the change. Clients with cognitive… disabilities are not assisted quickly enough, leaving said clients to mentally fall apart in the environment, which can bring on episodes of frustration just out of a desire to be considered within their care plans. There are some staff members that were wonderful, simply because they didn't hold their "time in the profession" as a means to be neglectful, and instead used their compassion to help. I'm recovering from having stayed here...
