SAS helped me deal with a lifelong problem. If I were to say my treatement was professional, compassionate, empathetic, and kind, I'd be understating my experience with them. My problem is a little side ways from the… usual forms of addiction and trauma that they treat and they adjusted on the fly to assist me and help me acheive some inner peace. Very thankful to have been treated there.

I went here months ago, and I wanted to wait til I wasn’t angry to post. They were willing to accommodate me for IOP knowing I was on suboxone maintenance, so long as I signed a release from my suboxone clinic to prove… I was getting it prescribed from a doctor. I didn’t realize they were basically going to harass my doctor’s office every single week (really not appropriate to do, I suggest getting a letter from your doctor and not signing a release, giving them this power to overstep boundaries). I was also commuting 45 mins to get help, and I was voluntary, and even adjusted my tight work schedule to make this work - all things they knew about. I was always forthcoming about my dose. One day, I get a call right when I’m rushing out of work to make it there on time, the director is telling me that they spoke with my doctor and they claimed that the doctor said I was the one arbitrarily tapering my dose (not true at all) and said they made a staff decision to excuse me from the program, saying they had a better fit in Tampa (2 hours away, what a very practical suggestion). So I called my suboxone doc and asked what he said to them. Turns out, all he said was that it was my decision to taper down, and that they were monitoring that. And that’s when he told me these people were calling every day practically interrogating this poor guy, which I will never understand. They twisted his words, and treated me like I was trying to lie about my dose (last time I checked, tapering with medical supervision was a good thing, instead of the alternative of abuse). They’re supportive at this place, but if you have a problem with being on maintenance, maybe you should be more forthcoming about it. Never sign a release to any doctor you see, just get a letter, because they clearly abused it.

Mary is by far the most compassionate counselor that I know. She puts her heart and soul into her work and she wants to share her peice to everyone. Since meeting mary I have found myself and for her I'm truly grateful.
