Evas Village – Paterson (393 Main Street) Address, Location and Contact Information

The facility address is 393 Main Street, Paterson, New Jersey, 7501. The city lies within Passaic County. The catchment reaches beyond the city itself. Public transport, parking and the length of the journey all affect whether someone completes a course of treatment, and they are worth settling before the first appointment rather than after.

It is worth calling first to confirm access, parking and the shape of a first visit. If getting there is hard, ask about a remote first appointment. Where no one answers, leaving a message and calling again later usually works better than giving up.

I would give this place -5 stars if I could. I was in the womens overnight shelter, i was there for almost three months, the staff showed favoritism and were very unprofessional. They treat people like children and… don't care if you have anything going on outside of being there. If you weren't gossiping or sharing your life story they didn't care to help they wanted to see people down. My daughter was sick in the hospital with rhinoenterovirus for a week and her dad had to work so I had to stay with her. They packed up my belongings by day 3 and gave up my bed, and told me they didn't care that she was in the hospital that has nothing to do with them and that's not their problem but wrote that my discharge was because of me causing trouble. They discharged me so quick as if it gave them a thrill, didnt care about the fact that I had nowhere to go. I kept to myself, I did my chore everyday, and fought my mental and dignity like hell everyday to sit around people that only see you as a quick dollar from welfare. My experience there was horrible. They only help the elderly or help people fake having a disability to get housing. Would not recommend at all.

Evas is a decent place that genuinely cares about there clients. I'd honestly say it's the best state funded halfway house in NJ. I've been here 6 months with no real complaints. The food could be a little better but at… the end of the day it's a good place. Obviously this place is state funded and the majority of clients are on drug court or parole so there is no jacuzzi, pool and horses but like I said it’s not a bad place

When i first had lunch there there was a small cup of white powder to what i thought was sugar and poured it in my coffee. Good thing i was told first. One time when i first entered to volunteer i was given an… application. Something i should've recieved to take home with me. I didn't even understand the words i read. And when i asked this woman if i could come back to finish the application she said "ummmm" b4 saying sure. Not reasuring. And lastly when i told them i was looking to be sheltered there none of them understood. When i said it again i was pointed at place where only addicts go

I am wondering how the hell my daughter got to just walk out she was sentenced to the facility they never contacted me or the police! How dare you! She called me crying an told me they were so nasty to her! My daughter… is recovering an needed kindness not nastiness! Well a Missing person. Will be out an I will have my lawyer contact them!

Other than the staff that greets and seats you having a Napoleon complex, and the amount of times they serve pork; it's a great place. The food sans pork, is usually pretty tasty. Overall this "soup kitchen" is miles… ahead of some of the others I have been to. I highly appreciate what they do for us less than fortunate locals. If it wasn't for Eva's, I'd go without eating most days. I shaved the one star strictly based on the seating staff's behavior towards other human beings. The better than you attitude, really gets under your skin. If you don't like what you are doing or the people you have to deal with, do everyone including yourself a favor and find another job, or work in the back where you don't deal with us.
