Terrible place! They didn't help me at all. I even had to take out my own IVs. No one told me I was even discharged. Just ignored my heart symptoms and labs and booted me out.

Nurses and Paramedics were flirting while i was being wheeled in, While getting wheeled in bed was riding wall and bed smacked whatever sign was on that wall. Then i had my whole issue be overlooked by one symptom, they… tried to force meds down me when i just wanted further imagery done, the doctor and nurse were in a rush to go on break. I was in pain but because im not yelling 24/7 it was overlooked, even x ray shows some issue.

I've called Valleywise behavioral center at least 5 or 6 times.i hadn't seen or heard anything about my brother, Richard 12 hours i was told to leave a message and I would get a 4 digit code wihtin 12hours. I left… messages forthe case worker many times but, no answer., or call back. 5 days later i get a call from Maricopa countys attorney general telling me i have to be in court in 3 days for my brother but no one can bother to tell me if he is dead or alive. It's as if htey don't want me to call or talk to him before court.Doesn't matter I will tell them the truth.

This is a horrible facility and what they do should be illegal. I was wrongly petitioned for court ordered treatment by a doctor here who tried to claim I was severely mentally ill and they kept me for 10 days with that… petition. I tried to work with the doctor to voluntarily go into outpatient as I couldn’t be inpatient because I had to work. The doctor didn’t respond to my proposal of inpatient care and instead filled out a court petition for court ordered treatment stating that my refusal to do inpatient was due to my mental illness. Thankfully the judge saw through the BS and denied their petition and I was released. Do not go here for mental health help. They have almost nothing for patients to do on the unit and you spend time just sitting around. They don’t help anyone. The fact that they think that their facility helps someone who is suicidal is laughable.

I was going to use this facility for help with my suicidal intentions. Rachel at the front desk was kind enough to be of no help to me. Please fire this woman she will get somebody killed the way she handled my phone… call. After I tried to call back to speak to a supervisor about this. She continued to ignore my phone calls. I will not stand with unprofessional behavior at a mental health facility. Absolutely hideous and disgusting behavior on Rachel's part.

My daughter was a patient here for behavior health care back in March for about two weeks. I had brought her some extra clothes and hair products. She has very long and thick hair. I brought her a large bottle of… (expensive) hair conditioner. I was talking to my daughter on the phone one day and she was telling me that the nurses were complimenting her on how good her hair smelled. Some asking what she had in her hair, "smells so good." Well moving forward, it never made it home with her. She was told they didn't know what happened to it. Keeping in mind when she showered they brought her her shampoo, soap and conditioner. When finished they took it back and put in her locker. Everything was labeled with her name. I think it's disgusting that someone could steal anything from a patient. Any type of patient!!! I'm not assuming it was stolen because everything is labeled with her name and kept in a locker. My daughter will never go to that hospital again if needing care. I do not want thieves carrying for my loved one.

My husband is currently at this facility - we know what medication works for him, and yet the staff & practitioners are trying to force him to take medications that he’s never been on and may do serious harm; he has… nephrotic syndrome and they are trying to put him on Lithium & risperidone, which could seriously damage his kidneys or even worse… now I regret ever trying to have him petitioned and sent here. I wanted him to get HELP, not be subjected to dangerous medication combinations that he doesn’t need.

Came here yesterday and I can’t believe how rude the front desk was . Been coming here for years and never experienced what I experienced yesterday. WOW don’t come to this hospital they laugh in your face , make rude… remarks and just overall disrespectful. Made me so so uncomfortable!!! Even felt like just leaving before being checked out .

I visited this hospital yesterday at 11:17 am to bring my younger sister in for care. Although 1 am 21, the front-desk staff insisted on contacting my mother for permission, which I completely understood. I provided her… number immediately, and my mother called back as soon as she could, despite being at work. However, the staff members were rude and unprofessional throughout the interaction. When my mother had to hang up due to work, they questioned me sarcastically, asking "Where's vour mom? Whv isn't she here?" One of the staff members even laughed when I explained that she was busy. Another employee spoke to me in a condescending tone, saying, "Are you calling your mom?!" even though I had already given them her number.. When I quietly mentioned to my sister that the staff were being rude, the the women at the desk responded "yeah any other hospital is the same, which was unnecessary and unprofessional. After all of that … they call my sister up to to get a room he asked “what’s your pharmacy and I responded. Is there anyway we could use the one from here? He rudely cut me off and said nope is closed till tomorrow. What’s your pharmacy? Overall the lack of respect and compassion from the front desk made an already stressful situation worse. If that's how they act towards someone just watching in, it really makes you wonder how they treat patients who have to stay there for days . This facility needs to address staff training and patient service. I would give 0 stars if possible hospital on 5102 W Campbell Ave❌🚫👎

⭐☆☆☆☆ I am the mother of a young adult with autism, sensory processing disorder, and a rare genetic condition (8p– interstitial deletion). He cannot feel pain, which makes his situation extremely dangerous. Valleywise… Behavioral Health Maryvale has ignored every medical red flag — rapid weight loss, facial lesions and malar rashes, large amounts of fat blood in his urine, confusion, and fatigue — all dismissed as “psychosis.” No one has asked me about his history, triggers, or inability to feel pain. He was placed here under court order after I begged for medical help, not psychiatric confinement. The loud, harsh environment is torture for someone with his sensory issues. This is not care — it’s neglect in plain sight. Families deserve to know how their loved ones are treated behind locked doors. My son deserves medical care that sees the whole human being, not just a label. I will be filing a grievance and I believe this is violated title 2 ADA.

Know nothing about real health… issues and if you advocate fir a loved one they are rude..be careful..and dont let your loved one come here. What a scam..involuntary..they want to petion and court order you to fill beds and make money.

I want to show genuine respect and appreciation to this facility and most importantly the employees here. I was here for a little over a week, I was met with such gentleness, kindness and compassion. The care that I… received was dignified and patient centered. I would like to especially recognize those individuals that made me experience exceptionally RN Laura, NP Natella, social worker Cristal and just everyone who was involved in my care. I appreciate everything that you have done for me during my journey here and as well as now. I will always recommend this facility to anyone that needs this type of care/hospitalization. Apart from the outstanding medical care, they also make the stay a more enjoyable one; watching movies in the day room, recreation therapy ect.

When this place was called Maryvale Hospital I had a miscarriage and the doctors and nurses were very unprofessional and rude. I wasn't allowed to have my mother hold my hand during this and was lied to that my baby was… fine. But in the end instead of monitoring me over night I was told to leave. If you're pregnant or believe to have a miscarriage please find a place that will help and don't give up..

The BEST of care was provided to my son. Mark PA was in contact for previous history and medication taken previously that had good results. Mark returned my calls and addressed all my concerns within hours. The entire… staff was knowledgeable and forthright in my son's care. Blessed that Valleywise Maryvale has a supreme staff and patient protocol. Thanks!

I would like to say Thank you to the nurses, the staff and to Dr Mark. Some reviews can really scare you. But my son was placed on COT after 8 years, since the last episode. They were patient, kind, and compassionate.… Im the type of mom that worries and they kept me updated at all times and they were always reassuring me that he was safe and everyone around him was safe. Which I did see 1st hand. I love that you have daily visits from 2-8 works perfect with working family members. And the fact that he got to enjoy his favorite fast food. Im sure I drove them nuts with me calling all the time. 🙂 It took them awhile to get him stabilized. But he's on that road now. And hopefully I will have him home soon. if you know anyone going through a crisis. Please bring them here. They will be safe. Thank you Valley Wise Behavioral.

My family member was transferred here and the psychiatrist I spoke with over the phone… also was very willing, caring, professional, and definitely showed compassion for the difficulties my relative suffered from. Thank you Valley Wise for taking the time to educate me and help through this difficult process of trying to cope and comprehend the process! 🤍🩷🫶🏻

Please DO NOT COME HERE! The staff was very rude and unprofessional. They did not communicate well and one of the nurses was passive aggressive towards me. I went to an urgent care beforehand but my heart rate was still… very high so I was recommended to go to a hospital. When i checked in I asked for electrolytes because I felt dehydrated and the nurse never came back. I had to wait until another nurse came back to help me get electrolytes. In total it took 30 minutes. Mind you the hospital was not busy. I heard several nurses a few feet away just chatting and not helping a patient that called out nurse 3 times! While I was waiting my anxiety was starting to get worse and I was getting impatient. Unfortunately my dad was no help so I had to call my a family member to comfort me. I was given attitude from the nurse and she made it seem like I was the one that wasn't communicating well. But you can't expect someone having an anxiety attack to think well, the nurses are the ones that are supposed to guide us. When I finally asked to be discharged because they weren't helping me I was given attitude and the nurse just left. She didn't give me any instructions to go to the lobby or anything so I was confused. When I went to the lobby, I saw one of the nurses gossiping to the desk lady. I left crying and disappointed. If your someone dealing with anxiety attacks there are ways to get help. The American health system is unfortunately not helpful. Do some yoga, splash your face with cold water, do an intense workout, ask for help from a friend or family memeber. If you're a student speak to a counselor. If your really not feeling well go to a hospital with good reviews. There is help out there and I hope you feel better. ❤️

i wish i could give this negative stars. i stayed at Valleywise Maryvale for a few weeks last april and may. i was met with nothing but disrespect and malice from just about every single nurse and doctor. Everytime i… had to speak to a nurse, they would either flat out ignore me or insult me. My doctor there prescribed me meds similar to Xanax, later on he told me i wasn’t supposed to be taking them and that the judge wasn’t going to let me go home; after he was the one who told me to take them. He also would type out everything i said, but when i read his notes, he had said things about me (that i never actually said) that would keep me in there longer until i told him to do his job correctly. the food was always cold, or even straight up raw. inedible. i lost over 15 lbs in my stay. i was constantly yelled at, criticized, and verbally abused anytime i was outside of my room. i couldn’t take a shower, go to the bathroom, or sleep through the night without nurses coming in and yelling at me or coming up to me to get in my face and take notes on me. i’m begging everyone who is considering coming here, or sending someone here, to please reconsider your options. VALLEYWISE IS NOT SAFE!!

Had my blood and urine test done, I kept letting hospital staff know there was a possibility I was pregnant I asked multiple times and no one would answer that question. ….Made my own appointment at a different medical… office, Im due in July and was very much pregnant at the time of my visit at ValleyWise. Doctor was extremely disrespectful, rude, and literally told me she didnt have time to deal with me she has other patients. If i get hit by a bus or on my death bed do not bring me to this hospital!!! Worse healthcare experience I have ever had.
