Called multiple times to schedule an intake appointment for my 6 year old. Left messages and no response
Sure would be great if they could ever pick up the phone.
It's not a bad place but the med doctor I had gave me medicine without trying to dive deeper into the problem and she even gave me 2 anti depression and 2 anxiety medicine without any follow up and they even don't send… you medicine so when you run out you screwed, I have been off my anxiety meds for over 3 months anti depression for over 2 months and same with my ADHD meds, my therapist even randomly dropped me so I don't think I would recommend this place
My daughter was in desperate need for help. She needed assistance with how to work through self harm and suicidal thoughts. She was enrolled with Easter Seals for 2 months and in 2 months they helped with nothing. She… couldn't even make it through one full session without them cutting her therapy short and telling me to take her to the CDC or else they would report me to CPS. My daughter was inpatient 2 at a behavioral health center after taking her to the CDC where they put her on 7 medications which made her like a zombie. I tried explaining to both the case manager and her therapist that my daughter needs helps with these thoughts she is having she does not know how to work through them when she starts having bad thoughts but they never took the time to work with my daughter on it. They are too busy trying to cover their asses. I ended up pulling my daughter from Easter Seals after a therapy session she had. My daughter was with her adult sister who was under her care while I was at work. The therapist cut the session short called me to tell me take my daughter back to CDC or else she is reporting me. I told her I was at work, my daughter is safe with an adult, when I get off work I will talk with my daughter and if need be I will take her back to CDC. Well this was not good enough for easter seals. They had a crisis team along with fire and ambulance go straight to my mother's house to look for my daughter. They were not even home. A waste of resources. They had crisis teams calling my job, and then police going to my oldest daughters job looking for them. It was a huge mess. I ended up finding a much better place for my daughter where she is getting better care, and helping her with coping skills to get through bad thoughts that does not involve long inpatient stays, 7 medications, and threats if you don't listen to their advice.
FINAL EDIT:Blake Easterseals has taken my doctor's ability to write a 90 day prescription. In other words he must write me three prescriptions instead of just one, because three prescriptions puts more money in their… pocket than one prescription does… OBVIOUSLY!! But their excuse of course will be “the potential for abuse is very high with this medication and blah blah blah…” in other words “This guy must be treated as a drug addict and abuser and we will dispense his medications like God” Changing providers is hard but it's better than going through this bullshit every month with Blake Easterseals! They are FORCING ME TO CHANGE MY PROVIDER OF 12 YEARS! I don't deserve to go through this every month... Original post: I've been seeing Dr Herron for close to if not over a dozen years. Since moving to Blake Easter Seals he no longer has the ability to write a 90-day supply for my medication, not of any state or federal regulations, just their policies so I need to get a prescription every 30 days. Now where I'm from the definition of insanity is “doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result” Well my pills must be working because I don't expect success every month… My expectation is that it's going to take major footwork on my part to get this done and more times than not it takes longer than 30 days to get my medication. Their the ones who are trying to get it done successfully and failing themselves! Now who's insane here? UPDATE! Once again they have failed me!!! I was told they submitted my prescription so I drove across town to pick them up, 25 minutes each way and my prescriptions were messed up!! Every month they failed to get it submitted in a timely manner so now I'm going to hopefully pick up my bottle tomorrow on day 32???? BLAKE EASTER SEALS IS THE WORST AGENCY OUT THERE!!!
My granddaughter has an 8 year old daughter who has behavioral issues. She has been assigned to a counselor at your facility. She was in urgent need of assistance from this counselor today, a counselor who should be… available at all times. The woman was totally unreachable all afternoon! The crisis hotline was unable to reach her as well! She was forced to just take her to the Banner Crisis hospital. If your organization is incapable of providing the support these families need, recommend one that is!
This place has changed mine and my son's life. We both have a whole team behind us and I feel that there's nothing we cant not accomplish with them backing us. Some of the doctors, therapists, case managers, and early… intervention specialists have truly become like extended family to us and I can't imagine life without them in it now. Thank you Easterseals ♥️
Very bad terrible experience this place does not care about kids and families… Parents look at other options before choosing this place, it will be more frustration for you and your child if you look for help here you… will be neglected big time!
Great service for both children and adults. Highly recommended
Taysia Adelay, Gema Soto, and Mykah Bonhoff are individuals that are responsible for a loooong list of violations my family and I were forced to endure. I'm editing my review after 7 months of focusing on healing my… heart and soul from the extraordinary damage. I'm very grateful for the opportunity to share my experience so that NO woman, man, child, will ever be a victim to the illegal practices going on daily, that many families might not be aware of. PLEASE request your medical records and review each page. DO NOT believe for a nanosecond that ANY human inside of that building has an honest heart....it is a machine fueled by an agenda- they are all drinking the same corruption. One of the many violations was false medical records....622 pages worth of what can only be described as pure evil... the focus was never on helping my child, but rather extreme character assassination (they were very frustrated with me because I was not satisfied with their unprofessionalism and lack of support for our needs, so it was a punishment for me)..... I also have medical records of children in my son's file that are NOT my son's. Yes, I have a random child's private records mixed up with my son's....they are sloppy at everything except exploitation and manipulation/lies. PLEASE BE AWARE.....these individuals will bold face lie to you with a straight face. I had NO idea what was happening until I saw the records....they will pretend to care about you, while you're being exploited behind your back. I have healed myself from so much at the hands of these people, but I want to severely warn the public to please protect your family and yourself from this entity. In love and light 💜🙏- Amanda
Definitely a great organization and a huge part of the community. I have attended a few of their events and they are all about helping people. Definitely keep them in mind if you need to donate or need a charitable… organization.
Edit; Since leaving this review 4 things have happened in the following order: 1) I got a call from someone who was not involved in intake letting me know “you can just go downtown and get copies”. Yep, they called me… just to say that. Unfortunately for them running away from exes sometimes involves leaving the state, so “just going downtown” isn't going to help. 2) I got a call from quality control asking about the situation. They said they will follow up. 3) The service provider I am currently with called to let me know that Easterseals had contacted them trying to establish coordinated care (yes, even though they had said intake was not completed and services would not be provided without the birth certs, which I did not turn in). Thank goodness my current service provider knows what privacy is. 4) Quality control has gotten back to me and said they will no longer require birth certificates to provide services. I am thankful for that. However, they made it seem like I had misunderstood about them contacting exes. They might be getting back with me again about that. Summary of original review: Intake personnel requested birth certificates. When pressed about why, I was told that ALL PARTIES LISTED ON THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE MUST CONSENT TO TREATMENT. If I did not want the other party to be contacted, I needed to bring custody papers. They said with a birth certificate and no proof of custody that they are required to contact the other party to gain consent for treatment. Intake personnel made it very clear that Easterseals Blake Foundation in Tucson AZ will not complete your intake, or provide ANY services, unless they have your children's birth certificates on file. No other location in Tucson requires this information for treatment. Initially, when asked, they said it was for psychiatry and to have it 'just in case'. They added that they could not speak to the 'quality' of services I may receive at other locations, as if other places were breaking some rule. When I still pressed, because psychiatry is not a service we will be consenting to, they revealed that they request permission to treat from ALL parties. This is what was told to me by several people, not an assumption I am making. No services until they have the birth certificate. All parties must consent or also no services. No exceptions without proof of custody arrangements. On top of that issue, the person doing our intake was frustrated by my children's choice for me to be in the intake room with them. She kept repeating different variations of the same sentiment, alluding to the idea that their intake could not be accurate if I was in the room. At least twice, for different serious topics, I said 'no, I do not think that is what was meant' then looked at my kid to ask if they felt they were being understood. In both instances they said 'no' and tried again to be more clear. However, both of those specific times the intake personnel just repeated what they already said while adding "the why" or "the specifics" don't matter. They were misunderstanding whole concepts my kid was trying to convey. I was also told they would not compartmentalize or generalize when communicating cross-or-inter agency and would give very specific details about the minor children to whomever 'they felt' needed to hear them, if services started. I don't know...the entitlement about my kids' choices/feelings/PRIVACY, the birth certificate being mandatory specifically for them to get actively involved in custody, and the weird amount of 5 stars with no comments here are a few too many red flags for me to not speak up about an uncomfortable intake and weird paperwork policy.
personal care and attention, highly recommend! Such a variety of services!
