Kind and helpful staff
The grocery gift card really was the biggest blessing at the perfect time I appreciate every single person working here helping the community. Thank you!
Lady by the name of Heidi hung up on me but nothing will be done about it I bet because know body seems to nothing here
There is so kind people the first one is Mastura she is so kind she help me to pay my home rent thank you Mastura☺️.
If you need financial assistance, you'll need to borrow money from someone else to pay your fees and dues, because JF&CS takes a very long time to get you the money. That particular department drags their rear ends,… they give you the runaround, invalidate your questions concerns and comments, all the while threatening you if you have the audacity to be inquisitive, "...you're more than welcome to apply elsewhere for financial assistance." Tell them you want to pick up the check/monies and to not mail it to the recipient. Pima County sends all their mail to Phoenix, gets routed there, and then returns to Pima County. Checks get stolen and lost because of that. Only use this organization for financial assistance if you absolutely have to.
Absolutely loved them. Annie and Ginger were so helpful and encouraging through my entire process.
Staff are absolutely amazing. Thank you all for what you do. Folks like you make the world a better place.
Amazing resources for families, I am so thankful for the services I have received here. As a former social worker, I had lost faith in a lot of agencies and this one has restored so much faith and hope🙏✨
It took me weeks of getting the run around from staff who kept changing the story on hours they were available, eligibility etc. and made some pretty in appropriate comments about not being of the Jewish faith. This… place is really not conducive to mental health. It felt more like a shell game.
They supported me with free psychological therapy for domestic violence, they were super kind and the costs were very affordable.
I gotta tell ya. When it comes to Above and Beyond. JFCS Tucson. Transcends the above accolade on a galactic high level. There is not enough Thanks, Appreciation and Gratitude throughout the known two trillion plus… galaxies to express my love. For several years now JFCS has come to my rescue on many occasions. For myself, their staff that I had the pleasure of dealing with was always kind, considerate and very helpful. They have actually secured a roof over my head and as well made sure there was food on my table. They have always been there for me in some very troubling and stressful times. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and the deepest crevis of my soul. Lord God Bless you all. I know He does.
Mrs. Debbie is very nice and she goes the extra mile to help individuals in need. I greatly appreciate what she did in helping me to pay my rent and providimg me with a food card for food. Thankyou so much for your time… and getting me by the month i was in a financial hardship.
I do not recommend this place, Mrs. Sharon has no ethics. She sided with one of the parents. They should have staff with ethics.
During these uncertain times it's good to fall back on faith.
the lady on the phone laughed at me and my situation while i was trying to explain myself :( made me feel like i was in the wrong even though their website says they can help and i was just trying to get out of a bad… situation.
I was assigned to a counselor who displayed what I can only describe as a type of sociopathic behavior; An Australian woman with an obvious underlying temper and completely unempathetic which is disturbing given her… career path. She liked talking about herself intermittently, and had a cold disconnected demeanor. She said some very off-beat and strange things such as where she worked before and how she didn't like it because it was too loud. I wanted Grief counseling as I had lost two people very close to me. Getting help is difficult when you're feeling vulnerable. I wanted to talk about the spiritual aspect of losing someone dear to my heart. I asked if she was a spiritual person and she got right in my face, stared me squarely in the eyes and said, "What difference should that make to you?!" I had obviously struck a nerve and her intent seemed almost threatening. It certainly shook me up, and I decided that was our last session. When I called the front desk to stop the sessions, it was my intent to remain completely quiet of what transpired for my own privacy. But, I feel it is important to express to others anonymously as to my experience here, so others can make informed choices. One thing to keep in mind is you will have to pour your heart out in detail to someone for an hour during an introductory in-person interview before they assign you to a specific counselor. Then you have to repeat your heartache all over again on your actual first session with the counselor assigned to you. I was not informed about this and thought I was speaking to my actual counselor the first time. I had no idea of the atual credentials of the first person I talked to. I was also told by my counselor that she could share her notes about me with the other counselors if she ever felt stuck. Not only wierd, but destroys the trust, privacy, and basic respect of a patient / counselor relationship.
Do not go here. Their billing department is a joke. They have overcharged me by hundreds of dollars. The people do not answer the phone or answer your questions. Also, they have increased costs by over 40% just to get… rid of people without insurance. My advice is to stay away!
Fantastic place ! They really, really help people in need. They care and listen. Debbie and Brandon helped me get a wheelchair. Debbie has been helping me through my recovery when I was actually starving. It was hard,… but I made it thanks to JFCS. I have been coming here for therapy sessions with Georgia (thanks a million) for 1.5 years now and I love it there. They help a lot of people, including Holocaust survivors and their families. Raids helped me write a letter for my Grandfather, literally, last week and they even have a notary on site there. JFCS is the only place in Tucson where they actually helped me in my ongoing process of therapy, treatment and recovery.
I am currently going here and it has helped me with my life so much I love going there
JFCS & Jewish Elder Access has been a lifesaver. I am mute Visa vie the phone and only a whisper face to face. (pro) Need is always greater, that's the human condition. (con)
I called and said i nd a little help 2 clean my casita. so, for the last 2 months somebody comes, spends 2 hrs doing what is hard 4 me now, beautifully. they get paid a little, and i am being taken well care of. Thank… U, JFS. As a child of holocost Survivors, U sure r reversing what happened at the hands of our recent oppressors! Thank You !
Don't waste your time calling this place for assistance, they answer ask what you need help with and then tell you they can only help you if you are of the Jewish Community. So if your not don't waste your time.
If you are seeking therapy for yourself or a family member, I would look elsewhere. I needed to get an appointment for my daughter, so I left a message on their intake line first thing on a Monday morning (their message… states that they will be in contact within 48 hours). By late Wednesday morning, I had not received a call back. I left another message on the intake line and sent an e-mail message to them via their website. By late Friday morning, no call or e-mail. By this time, I am pretty upset. I called their main line and asked to speak to an administrator; I was quickly transferred to the "Executive Secretary's" voice mail. I, of course, have lost any confidence in having a voice mail returned, so I immediately call back and state that I want to speak to a human being. I was told that I would have to leave a message because most of the staff do not work on Friday, and that it would likely be Monday before I would hear anything. I am seething now. I attempted to explain my situation, but was repeatedly cut off and interrupted by the receptionist who told me that they had a new intake person that just started this week, blah, blah, blah ... leave another message ...blah, blah, blah... I then asked for the name of the CEO or top administrator and a phone/e-mail address. Well, not surprisingly, they do not currently have a CEO -- they are looking for one, but I was transferred to the VP of Clinical Services. I was shocked when she actually answered her phone. She also gave me the same line about a new intake person .... blah, blah, blah...but, someone will, for sure, be in contact with me today. She also took down information regarding my daughter and insurance, because she said she would be the one to assign the case. I guess we shall see if they call back. ***UPDATE*** So, the new intake person did call me back, only to tell me that there is at least a month or more waiting list. Hmmm, the VP of Clinical Services couldn't tell me that in the first place and save us all a lot of time?? What a disappointment.
