Coatesville VAMC – Newtown Square Detox and Rehab Services

Coatesville VAMC – Newtown Square is recorded as offering intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Sessions follow a set timetable while people keep living at home. Anyone unsure which level fits should ask for an assessment rather than choosing from a list, since placement criteria exist precisely to make that judgement.

The record does not show integrated provision, so confirm this if it matters. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

Coatesville VAMC – Newtown Square Address, Location and Contact Information

The facility address is 4833 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, 19073. The city lies within Delaware County. People travel in from the surrounding area, and confirming the route beforehand saves difficulty. The practical question of getting to appointments week after week is worth thinking through at the outset.

All of the staff there is helpful and as friendly as you are. It is a bit slow when trying to get referrals and appointments to outside practitioners and other VA centers for specialist and coronary tests.

Rated #2 in all VA's in America. It's breathtaking views and classic architecture make it more like #1. On premises cafeteria, and gift shop, add a real convenience. Located in beautiful Chester County, Pa., it's only… minutes to famous Downingtown, and West Chester.

I believe it was back in 2011 I presented myself for refresher alcohol rehab. I saw no patients. Police interrogation is regular for veterans by security. And township police talk pedestrian into a ride outside town of… coatesbille twice. The social worker and her pal the psychiatrist ponied up to harass me and gave me until dark then the social worker playing with a pen and paper scribble circles and explain direction to local halfway house or something. After closing hours. So her knowing that and that I had to walk down the hill front or back door. But front too dangerous traffic an no shoulder or rear hill. Do da hill. Cops will

I am so grateful for this facility. Was in and out before my actual appointment time. Saw the Dr who explained everything to me and was very nice and caring and even offered to ship the medication to my house. From the… time I walked in and was greeted by an older Vet to the bathrooms and overall appearance of the campus, etc, 10/10. Thank you Coatesville VA for your awesome service!

I was in today for two appointments and things could not have gone better. I met with Dr. Muchnick - Optometry and Dr. Ambrogi - Dental. Both were consummate professionals, took their time and really handled the entire… visits well. It really bolsters my faith in the treatment when I don't feel the MD is rushing to move onto the next patient. Ultimately I got fantastic care and I am sold, I will continue to use them and this site for medical care. I have been using VA Medical in various capacities for over forty years now and I have always had a good experience. I have used private insurance and care simultaneously throughout so I can make a really fair and well-informed opinion about VA care vs. elsewhere. Thanks to everyone at VA Coatesville!!!

Just had to go to the urgent care . Was received with total curtesy. My doctor was Pamela Leclaire MD and the nurse was Eileen. Both made sure all my concerns were met, and Dr. Leclaire was wonderful, very… knowledgeable, great beside manner and overall a perfect experience. Pharmacy had all my prescriptions ready by the time I got there. This is the way to be treated. Keep it up!

This location does their best with the resources they have available and I get that. I have been coming in and out for over a decade. It almost feels like a second-rate hospital which makes me sad to say. Most of the… staff is decent and helpful, but some staff have the "why are you bothering me while I watch Tik Tok Videos?" attitude. Some visits are hit or miss. There's a tendency of "oh you're fine!" even before a medical evaluation is completed. I only come here for service related issues and even then I tend to go private medical route at the same time to get another competing opinion. Most of the corporate processes are redundant. For example, you call for an appointment, then someone calls you back to tell you we heard you, but they can't set up your appointment and you need to wait for another call to set that up. This can sometimes go for 3 or 4 layers deep before you get that appointment. You also get a mail letter about your appointment and emails. Plenty of inefficient and usually slow moving processes. Sometimes the walls of various buildings smell like they need to be bleached. 😔 I hope things can turn around here for all veterans! 🇺🇸

So unbelievably happy. The dental staff has been amazing. Thanks to all who've helped with my anxiety over my bad (but getting better) teeth! Both doctors and both hygienists have been so awesome. Thanks guys. You're… really helping this vet become whole again. Blessings to you all, and thank you for your service.

The worst! They almost killed my husband, they gave him cough drops when he needed antibiotics and steroids. The NP barely speaks English and won’t give you the medication you are already on, instead they mail you out… medication you didn’t ask for. In conjunction with the medication he is already on also would have killed him. Maybe that’s their goal, so they don’t have to pay its veterans. Not quality care, for this exact reason we have primary insurance. What a joke!!!

Avoid the Coatesville va if at all possible, I understand the va is the only option for most vets but Wilmington or phily is worth the drive. But the residential ptsd program is good everything else terrible

The level of care you can expect to receive at this hospital is "Second to All!" There is a public road that runs through the hospital grounds, and a popular saying, amongst the VA emergency services about it. "If I… have a heart attack, drag me to the middle of Blackhorse Hill Road, and call 911." They don't want the hospital staff to touch them, that's telling. Speaking of staff, complaints about them are ignored by the hospital director personally. There is no accountability. It's rotten from the top down.
