I’ll never come here again!!! I came here and the workers are rude!! They make faces at you and they threaten to hurt you, one time a lady said I was gonna fight her and I was just chillin in my room and the worker said… she will hurt me and make my life hell, I gained a lot of trauma from here!! I went through horrible stuff and after this I refuse to go to mental hospitals
My family member benefitted greatly from her treatment at Palo Verde. She is a different person now. Thank you to the Palo Verde treatment team and staff.
What can I say? No one wants to ever be in the psych ward. But stuff happens. Often. I cannot thank every tech, nurse, or doctor enough for showing me there is a light at the end, and you deserve to give light to… yourself. Sandra, Corey, both Kristins (Kristens?), and Jen were phenomenal. I'm bad at names but everyone else was also wonderful! If I didn't mention you but you helped me in any way, just know... You and your colleagues saved me. Thank you for taking me back to the right direction; after IOP, I hope to never be back ;-)
I had an very good experience at Palo Verde Outpatient
Just want to give a shout out to the Ocotillo staff. I did not sleep for eight days but they got me on a better cocktail. I am sleeping again. Every staff there wasn’t there for the money. You can’t fake being… empathetic. The staff at palo verde truly care.
Great staff!
Fantastic! Great services, great staff, great people! Dr. O. is the best psychiatrist around. No joke!
Please choose a different facility if you are struggling with serious mental health issues. I was checked in during an episode of mania, I was not coherent enough to fill out forms to release information to my husband… or mom, and as a result they had no idea what was happening with me or what medications or treatment I was receiving for 3 days out of my 10 day stay. This is not the facilities fault and I understand there are rules, but it was incredibly stressful on all of us. I thought I would see my husband again (I was told I would), he waited in the waiting room to see me for three hours and was told to leave. It was heartbreaking and extremely difficult on both of us. For the first part of my stay, I will say I'm very grateful I was under constant supervision. Past that point, I wasn't allowed to go to the cafeteria, and the staff forgot to bring me food. Once I was well enough to figure out that it was lunch time, and everyone had come back and I hadn't been given food that day, I went to the front desk and let them know that was the case. The staff at the desk looked very concerned. The kitchen was already closed so I had to wait until dinner to eat. I'm not sure how long I went without food because like I said, I was in severe mania. Once I was more stable I was eventually allowed to eat at the cafeteria. I was also eventually well enough to sign the correct paperwork, and even after that point, communication about my care with my loved ones was very poor and left my mom and husband very confused. I was not treated with respect by all of the staff, although many were very kind and compassionate. This was the scariest moment of my life where care was critical, and Palo Verde did attend to my basic care needs, but they also made it incredibly stressful for me and my loved ones. At times I was treated like an animal by the staff and I hope those people find different jobs.
I would like to thank Savannah the nurse that that was helping me she is the best and the greatest give her a raise please everybody awesome great too so I give them all praises thank you Savannah you did one hell of a… job on me thank you
My overall experience at Palo Verde behavioral health was great. All of the staff starting from inpatient and going to outpatient really went above and beyond for me. When I went to outpatient it gave me a push to want… to do better for myself. When I started in PHP, Makayla was my therapist. She made me feel very welcome and comfortable during her group sessions. Going to IOP was even a bigger delight working with Marla. Marla show me that she cared and she helped me with my road to recovery. There was never a day that I didn't want to go to Marla's group. The vibe in her group made me feel safe and supported. Kabrina Lee was also a delight to me in my journey to recovery. She provided me with help and resources that would help me. Overall I would recommend anyone who's seeking help go to Palo Verde. I was taking care of and the whole staff was very supportive. I want to name everyone that supported me, but I can honestly say I can't think of anyone who never supported me. Overall I just want to give a shout out to the Palo Verdi staff and thank everyone for the support they gave me. Some of the names that stand out to me are Marla, Makayla, Kabrina Jennifer, Sema, Sal, Stephanie,Brianna, Tamara, Barbara, Don and anyone else I may have missed. Steph Washington
Unbelievably thankful for Palo Verde and the amazing staff in the ocotillo unit. One of the nurse Kase is a true miracle worker with his groups. I was petitioned to be in patient for 7 days, it was not bad at all. Staff… is pleasant, comforting and supportive. The food is amazing and quality food. The groups were very helpful and useful to take away from. I’m thankful for the unexpected visit to Palo verde Behavioral health
**5/5 Stars — Beyond Grateful** if I could give 100 I would Because… Finding the right support when you’re struggling can feel overwhelming, but my time at Palo Verde Behavioral Health—and specifically working with my… IOP therapist, Marla—completely changed the trajectory of my life. Before working with Marla, I spent so much time hiding in my shell and feeling stuck. She created a safe, non-judgmental space that allowed me to find my voice, step out of my comfort zone, and embrace new experiences I used to run away from. Her impact didn't end when I graduated, either. The fact that she is still in my corner, cheering me on and checking in even now, speaks volumes about who she is as a person and a professional. I am forever grateful for her dedication, empathy, and unwavering support. If you need a therapist who sees you, actually cares about your journey, and will fight for your healing every step of the way, do yourself a favor and go to Marla. She is a true blessing. -Brittany Howard
Mental health is difficult to navigate. This place is safe, clean, and cares about their patients. The staff and therapists are passionate about helping people. A really great resource for crisis and after.
My wife and I both attend iop but I really want to thank my wifes group leader Marla she has helped my wife with so much and now she’s finally opening up and now our relationship is so much better she’s helped her a lot… with having empathy and compassion she stops and thinks before she does or says something she will later regret so I really want to thank her for that. Everything is working out so much better now because of iop so thank you and I will be referring people to paloverde -Ramon Reyes
Marla is simply amazing! I am super thankful for the opportunity and support I gained from iop with her and the staff is wonderful! I’m glad I chose Palo verde I highly recommend it to anyone looking for some guidance… and support. Definitely miss the place and people. Sincerely, Tiffany R.
From the minute I contacted Palo Verde they assisted in helping me get what I needed to start my recovery. I also attended groups and Marla facilitated my group and I got so much out of them. Marla is truly a great… asset for Palo Verde as she cares deeply and gives her 100% and more. She has had a big impact on me and I so appreciate her and Palo Verde.
The staff was rude and they treat you like you are below them. Some of the stuff was nice but not very many. The guy who worked in the kitchen with the glasses and he was younger, he was very rude and made me feel small
The intensive outpatient program helped me overcome one of the darkest times in my life. I’m so grateful for the support and guidance I received throughout my journey. Gloria was my therapist for most of my time there,… and she is truly amazing at what she does. Cristina is also incredible and has such a gift for helping others. I highly recommend this program to anyone who is struggling with managing everyday depression, anxiety, or substance use. This experience has helped me grow, heal, and continue my journey toward becoming the best version of myself.
It pains me to reveal that I had a Mediocre experience to say the least. I have many suggestions and recommendations to improve the patient’s overall experience. Upon release a hummingbird feeder was donated to the east… wing by my family and I. The feeder was explained to Ms. Angela to be visible to all patients from the end of the hallway 424-1-429-2. This did not occur unfortunately . 🙃
My experience with group therapy was overall positive and helpful. It provided a supportive environment where I could listen to others with similar experiences, share my thoughts when comfortable, and learn different… coping strategies. The sessions helped improve communication, self-awareness, and emotional support. I appreciated the sense of community and understanding within the group, and I found the discussions and guidance beneficial to my personal growth and mental well-being.
The outpatient program for iop was very helpful with getting perspective on issues i was having and it help with friendly environment and the staff were very helpful when it came to any questions or concerns i had with… my treatment or processes
A loved one from out of state wound up at Palo Verde after acting irrationally at a nearby retail establishment. Law enforcement had the foresight to take my Loved one to Palo Verde where she was treated with respect,… well fed, and looked after. Roberta, Carlos, Michael, Sydney, Nikki, and other staff acted with kindness and professionalism. If a loved one, or you yourself, wind up at Palo Verde Behavioral Health you will be in good hands. Mental illness, addiction, and other maladies are pervasive in the world today and thank God there are hardworking and compassionate humans such as those at Palo Verde to get them through the day. Adonai
Love this place. The staff truly does care here... Robbie, Rach, Rene, Jeff, Sandra, Justin, Kristen, I mean I could list names all day. You guys we my favorite part of the experience. I feel like getting depressed all… over again just to experience it all over again lol
Staff was kind and helpful. The unit had supportive patients.
Outpatient: Wonderful staff that work so diligently to create a welcoming and safe environment. I will cherish the connections made and all that I have learned. Finding community is so important for people, and I feel I… was able to connect with others during my time. Thank you! 🩷
Not happy with the lack of communication. It was very difficult trying to reach out to the Social worker and physicist practitioner. They nurses were willing to communicate what was needed though. I was trying to reach… out because I noticed sideffects with a med they gave our child. It was very noticeable. I tried to get them to stop giving it to her. Reaching them was too hard. I finally called the nurses station and they did put a notation about the meds. I finally got a response, however someone didn't read it and gave her the medication it again. Everything is stressful i this situation. Communication is key in giving family memebers peace and feeling they are in the loop. Definitely they need an plan to help parents with especially for adolescents. My advice if you go her, call the nurses station if you are not getting a response.
