645 Main Street, Paterson, New Jersey, 7503 is the address held. This address falls in Passaic County. The catchment reaches beyond the city itself. Public transport, parking and the length of the journey all affect whether someone completes a course of treatment, and they are worth settling before the first appointment rather than after.

I leave Staten Island to come here. Great ER, staff, care, oh and the menu wasn’t too shabby. Best physicians.
Grandfather is nearing his time due to cirosis. He has a lot of trouble getting up and going to the bathroom, so unfortunately he has been relieving himself in his own bed and tries to call the nurses to help him, but… NO ONE COMES neither to help him use the bathroom or to clean him. According to them its not their job. Our family has to come everyday and visit to see how hes doing but on top of walking in on our beloved family member we have to see him suffering in his own waste. The nurses here are completely unprofessional and this has been going on for about a month. My mother had to come almost everyday while I stayed at our shop to clean him and make sure he eats. I understand that nurses can become busy and it is a hospital, but if no one of our family was able to have the flexibility to come to help him, what would happen? He would just be laying like that everyday? And when the nurses come in to give him food what then? My mom and aunts were nurses for years earlier in the day and I would always hear them tell me about the amount of work they put in cleaning and feeding the elderly patients that would come into the hospital. Clearly the nurses here were not well educated or they just lack human decency. What if that was your mother or father would you treat them differently?
This hospital thinks it's appropriate to put a loved one on "hold" to harvest his retinas when he's not a donor while the grieving family was requesting his body be released. When advised he is not a donor and they are… not getting his retinas this hospital thought it was appropriate to call the widow and adult children to try and convince them otherwise within 2 HOURS of them being informed of the loved ones passing. You're absolutely deplorable people.
The people are wonderful and respectful
I love it,a lot of care, ppl are nice, and i like the nurses there si nice i love it and the rooms are clean,l the food is kinda good !.
This hospital is letting someone who is pretending to be me use my insurance for medical care. I called and they keep transferring to departments that have nothing to do with this situation. They have allowed this… person to use my insurance and continue to get services fraudulently.
Miss Caro, she is an excellent hospital nurse. He helped us a lot with information, he is a very nice and professional person in his work.
went there to deliver my baby girl. Great doctor’s and great nurses! very friendly and supportive! they made everything easy and smooth sailing. it was beautiful experience thanks to the staff at St. Joe’s ! i had a… horrible experience with my first child at a different hospital and this hospital gave me all the closure i needed and exceeded expectations! i would definitely recommend and come back to deliver again! i would to include how amazing my L&D nurse France was! She was the best and just so kind.
It was a good stay especially 6th floor everyone was very nice and kind
They deleted my last post, but they can’t delete my experience. This hospital is one of the worst hospitals in the USA. Their cancer department is a complete failure. One cancer doctor acted like he knew what he was… doing, but all he did was give us false hope while my dad’s condition kept getting worse. It took them six months to find my dad’s cancer. No real treatment, no responsibility, just empty promises. Families deserve better than this.
I am extremely disappointed with the experience my cousin has had at this hospital. She is a young first time patient who is currently going through a very stressful medical situation, and instead of feeling supported,… she has felt scared, ignored, and uninformed. She has repeatedly expressed concerns about the lack of communication from her care team. She does not feel like she understands what is happening with her condition, what the plan is moving forward, or what steps are being taken. She has been left feeling like she is just waiting without answers. She has also shared concerns about the nursing care she has received, including long wait times after using the call button and interactions that made her feel dismissed rather than cared for. Patients deserve to be treated with patience, compassion, and respect especially when they are vulnerable and frightened. I understand healthcare workers are busy and have many patients, but communication and basic reassurance are an important part of patient care. I hope the hospital takes this feedback seriously and works on improving communication between staff and patients.
Terrible experience. I arrived by ambulance with 10/10 abdominal pain literally sobbing and clutching my stomach. They registered me then put me in the waiting room. I am also a diabetic and my CGM notified me that my… sugar was low and dropping. I was clearly distressed about this and went to the front desk to let someone know as I needed to treat my low quickly. I was told they couldn’t do anything and I had to wait. I waited longer only for my sugar to drop more. I went back up to the desk to ask if they could at least check my sugar and make sure the reading was accurate but I was completely ignored. I ended up leaving and going to mountainside where they allerte able to treat me.
To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally recognize and commend the outstanding care I received after being transported and admitted to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson following my motorcycle… accident, where I suffered a broken leg and a fractured pubic ramus. First, I want to express my sincere gratitude to my surgeon, Dr. Okezie, and the trauma team for the care, skill, and professionalism shown during a very difficult and frightening time in my life. I am deeply thankful for the medical care that helped save my life and put me on the road to recovery. I would also like to specifically recognize several members of the nursing and PCA staff who made a meaningful difference during my stay. Trauma Team Nurse Grace, Marsha, Angie, Zaria, Daniella, PCA Rose, Josh, Pemmelie, Ana Julia, and Noelia all treated me with empathy, transparency, patience, and genuine human compassion. Their kindness helped make a painful and stressful experience a little more comfortable and bearable. Each of these employees represents the best of medical service. They were not only professional, but also deeply caring. Their human interaction, attentiveness, and compassion should not go unrecognized. Please accept this letter as my sincere request that these individuals be recognized for their outstanding service. They are exemplary examples of what healthcare professionals should be. Thank you all for saving my life, caring for me, and making a difficult time a little better. Sincerely, Ramon Cartagena IV
After checking in to St. Josephs for a same day cardiac procedure- I was escorted into the intake offices. I was told i needed to electronically sign the release: three signatures.... without reading the release. Staff… printed it out, told me to call anesthesiologist myself for confirmation of insurance. Which I did. I was told staff would return in 5 minutes. Fifty five minutes later - I went to nurses station. I signed release & was given a copy. In procedure room - the anesthesiologist asked for my electronic signature. No document ' just wanted my signature. Its a good thing I asked to read the release. The box for the wrong anesthesia (general) was checked off. Dr. said - that's just the standard form and then proceeded to check off the correct box. Very disappointed with the staff & procedures. I understand patients need to sign releases. But let them read what they are signing first.
This hospital took someone I loved dearly from me, and I will carry that pain for the rest of my life. From my family’s experience, it felt like the doctors gave up too quickly instead of doing everything possible to… save them. No family should ever leave a hospital feeling like their loved one wasn’t given every chance to survive. Paterson deserves healthcare professionals who are truly dedicated to fighting for every patient’s life with compassion, urgency, and respect. Every patient deserves to be treated with the same level of care and commitment that providers would want for their own family members. I will never stop grieving the person I lost, and I hope no other family has to experience this kind of heartbreak.
Neglectful Staff - Don't be fooled by the high rated reviews. This hospital treats you differently depending what legally protected demographic you are. My husband who was already in an extremely vulnerable state was… left in his own filth, no IV, no water for God knows how long. These nurses should be charged for malpractice. The head nurse needs to be fired and banned from healthcare. You prevent me from seeing him for hours (hours I could've worked instead) under the false pretense that I would get to see him that day. Only to find out protocol never allowed that. My husband was told he would see me as well, two lies told by people we trust with our lives. Any visitors need to keep detailed notes of their family's care with time stamps. & to any hospital staff who was involved reading this, may your family suffer the same neglect.
Today I had my last ultrasound, and I wasn't happy about it because during the entire pregnancy they were only able to get one clear picture of my baby. Most of the time they keep telling the students they're… practicing, and it's very frustrating because for us as mothers these are unique moments, and they should pay more attention to what a patient asks. They always give the same answer: that the baby won't cooperate. I think they should at least send a picture of the baby's foot if they can't get a picture of its face in nine months.
The care here may vary but good luck getting anyone on the phone. I've been calling for days and always end up in voicemail. I don't expect there will be a callback either.
Best ER team ❤️ everyone was so caring and smiley. I was admitted and immediately they did all the needed check up, blood tests, scan and the doctor came twice to see me and he thoroughly explained everything and… answered all my questions. Thank you very much to all the medical team working on this Thursday, June 18, morning/noon shift ❤️ and to the kind volunteering staff and a special thanks to doctors and nurses for how patient, understanding and caring they were with other patients as well. This is to tell you that your kindness, amazing spirit and level of professionalism did not go unnoticed. Lots of gratitude 💚 💚💚
Great experience overall. No unnecessary medications were administered, and patient was treated with respect. Patient was discharged timely. Would recommend this hospital to anyone in the area.
I can't speak for anyone and I can't understand why this hospital has such low review. I have been to many hospitals in the area in and around Morris and Sussex county but the procedure that I had today I needed to go… to St Joseph's I was nervous never been in that area and you always like to be where you know but let me tell you if I have to have any other procedures I may suggest to go to St Joseph's. From the moment I walked in the hospital was organized from the valet to check in for my same day surgery to the nurses that checked me in the anesthesiologist the assistance in the operating room it was a class act in my opinion. Very organized very on time and just a very friendly warm place I want to thank all of you for making my visit and procedure stress-free. Kudos to everyone that work there including my doctor I couldn't ask for a better experience I think this is more caring and compassion that I've seen in healthcare in a very long time and it's sad that a lot of things have changed since covid but these people love their job and value their patience which to me means more than anything. Keep up the great work you all should be proud.
I've been in the ER for 7 hours waiting to be discharged and there's a nurse who thinks he owns the place.
