ChoicePoint – Fair Lawn Detox and Rehab Services
The provision listed at ChoicePoint – Fair Lawn is detox, intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Detox runs under medical supervision, and the first three days carry the highest risk with alcohol and benzodiazepines. The structured element runs during the day and people go home afterwards. The right level of care is a clinical judgement rather than a preference, and an assessment should produce a defined answer.
The listing records a single focus rather than combined treatment, so anyone needing both should confirm what is available. Medication and talking treatment run together under clinical oversight. Ask directly about session times and frequency, as those details decide whether someone can realistically attend.

ChoicePoint – Fair Lawn Address, Location and Contact Information
ChoicePoint – Fair Lawn is located at 23-00 Route 208 in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, 7410. The city lies within Bergen County. People travel in from the surrounding area, and confirming the route beforehand saves difficulty. How someone gets there matters more than it sounds: travel is one of the commonest reasons a course of treatment stops partway.
Call ahead to confirm directions, parking and what a first appointment involves. Where travel is difficult, ask whether an initial appointment can be held remotely. Reception hours vary, so a call that goes unanswered once is worth repeating rather than treating as a dead end.

ChoicePoint advertises a virtual IOP program, but my experience was extremely concerning and unprofessional from start to finish. I spoke with Jay this morning, and before even asking my name or understanding my… situation, the focus was immediately on insurance verification. I clearly explained I have Blue Cross as my primary insurance and that I have already met both my deductible and out-of-pocket maximum. Despite this, I was repeatedly told I would need to pay $500 toward a deductible I have already met. When I called back for clarification because Jay did not follow up, another staff member immediately pushed for my secondary insurance information so they could re-run coverage. The intake process itself felt rushed and impersonal, with basic yes/no symptom questions and little actual clinical engagement. After completing intake, I was then told I would need to attend in person and that there was no virtual IOP available—despite that being what was advertised and what initially led me to contact them. The situation escalated further when they contacted my emergency contact without clear justification or explanation, which I found completely inappropriate and unprofessional. Overall, the experience felt disorganized and heavily focused on billing and insurance rather than patient care or accurate program information. I would not recommend this provider.
*update* After reassuring them that nothing was wrong with me and that I was never seeking treatment and only inquiring about telehealth/telemedicine that is advertised on their website (and covered by United… Healthcare), they continued to call me and bugging me about seeking treatment. Literally preying and hunting for those insurance kickbacks. The worst part is they even starting calling and texting my mother, which terrified her and made her think something bad happened with me and my sobriety. She sent me a screenshot of a lady named Sylvia texting her and telling her I was looking for treatment (a blatant lie) Misleading website for telehealth/telemedicine and are only trying to sell you on coming to their treatment facility. Wasted 56 minutes with a man named Jay on the phone who made it seem like the could “help” me with what I asked. They are wolves dressed like sheep, just like a lot of those people who work in the recovery field. (Especially in Florida lol). If you are on MAT or looking for help with that, don’t bother calling. And also, don’t waste your time on some virtual IOP or PHP over a phone screen or zoom call, that’s the biggest rip off in the world and the insurance pays them so much money and makes alot of profit for them.
Id love to give these guys a 5 but recently I was dropped due to insurance. ( I have medicaid. Which makes me less fortunate then others who pay for there insurance) so after about a year and a half. Outside of that the… groups are excellent the facilitators truely care, and the people who are the ones that really make the groups they are great. I thibk due to the telahealth aspect people are more willing to dig into there traumas and passed. I can only hope they 1 day accept medicaid again not only for me but all the other addicts and alcoholics who cant afford insurance to 1 day be able to receive treatment in the same manor I did.
Choice point was such an amazing place to focus on my recovery they helped me so much to focus on my recovery helped me stay clean and also helped me become a better person I will definitely miss this place ❤️thank u to… my counselor melisssa Darrien and my peers in group and all the counselors and staff at choice point for helping me be me again ❤️best rehab I ever been too ❤️thank u so much
Helpful and great experience overall couldn't have asked for a better program. They gave me all the tools needed to continue my life in the right path. Forever grateful.
Wonderful place..coming from.an ex-junky...that's everything..
From the very beginning I’ve had such an amazing experience. My counselor Sam is beyond exceptional and the kindest person I know. She answers my calls and questions and has truly guided me through my journey. I would… also like to give a shoutout to the front office coordinator who is so welcoming and supportive and has helped me so much as well. Thank you Sam and Leo for all you do!
Choicepoint has been a really wonderful option for me after waiting to seek treatment for a long time. Since being in the program for 2 1/2 months, I can already see a lot of changes in myself that I didn't anticipate… happening so quickly. The team is very knowledgeable and good at explaining medical terminology around addiction into easily understandable language that was easy for me to digest. The group sessions were particularly helpful as they provided an opportunity to share time with others who are going through the same experience, which is not something I have in my "real" life. I had Darien and Sam for group, and both are very kind and good at creating a safe and friendly atmosphere where people that start as strangers feel comfortable sharing private things about themselves. Darien took time out of his day to help advise me once on natural remedies for anxiety, and Sam has a great candor and humor which makes group a pleasant experience - something I never would have expected going into the program. Joanna, the nurse at Choicepoint, is very kind and takes time to explain to you different options for MAT without pushing you in one direction - she explains everything so well that you feel very confident in whichever option you choose. Gina, who I had as a counselor, also helped me process how I make decisions and the behavior behind my actions, which has helped me to understand myself better. It's been a great thing for me and I really recommend it to anyone.
The therapists were very helpful and did an excellent job of sharing their own experiences to help with others .
Amazing staff. Very helpful.
They tell you that the all day program entities you too lunch. They provide lunch whenever they feel like it. I am sure they bill insurance companies for it.
A great experience! Very professional staff! Samantha Murphy, my counselor guided me through the entire process and was outstanding!!! Highly recommended!!!
incredible staff. truly life savers. they all foster such a safe and supportive environment in groups as well as in the group home. Joanna is an incredibly kind and knowledgeable RN and listens and gets it and nails it… on medication. Melissa is the most incredible counselor i’ve ever met. very much a real life approach to sobriety and i’m lucky to have been put in touch with this center. words can’t express what they’ve done for me.
They gave the best help that anyone could receive I got my confidence and mindset back together
I called to inquire about inpatient services, and my experience with the staff over the phone was disappointing. I felt the representative was abrupt and unhelpful. While they clarified they accept Medicaid for certain… outpatient services, I was still left confused due to how it was communicated. I’m sharing my experience as a potential patient — your experience may vary.
I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. The all high and mighty Brian believed he had all of my issues solved without even hearing what I had to say or knowing me. To the point where he was questioning my… credentials as a professional. Without listening to what I had to say he was ready for me to risk my condo as well as the rest of my livelihood instead of coming up with a plan that was best suited for me. I only continued to try and utilize this program because I have called 20 others on my insurance list and I can’t seem to find any success. But I would avoid Brian at all costs.
To say that ChoicePoint saved my life would be an understatement. ChoicePoint didn't change me, it brought back the REAL me. If you are struggling with addiction, I can't recommend this place enough. Super friendly and… knowledgeable staff that take you on the journey to sobriety from a mental-health perspective. The groups run in the mornings and at nights, which gives you the opportunity to share and learn in a safe environment. Ask for Lisa, Jeff, Gina or James- each played a pivotal role in counseling me to recovery.
Choice Point offers excellent mental health services with group and individual therapeutic sessions. When I began the program, I was assigned to Jeff Gish. As I worked the program and had inevitable difficulties, Jeff… went way beyond his counselor role and engaged me as a friend. That was the turning point for me that helped ensure my recovery. Everybody shoots straight here and you truly know how much they care about your mental health…oh, and the medical services are equally valuable. They helped me find medications that worked for me and were always attentive when I called. I can’t say enough about Jeff and Choice Point. They helped me turn my life around and that deserves all the stars in the heavens.
CHOICE POINT helpful and wonderful people my council Sam and all the other Counselors are the best very friendly and helpful and I’ve been sober since and continue to be sober with their help
I had the best experience doing IOP at choicepoint. The counselors here truly are amazing, compassionate people who helped me so much. After 2 years doing IOP and over a year of sobriety I’m finally leaving. The… counselors and people I’ve met along the way have become a second family to me. I’m truly grateful for this experience. If you’re looking for somewhere to help you overcome addiction please go to choicepoint you won’t regret it!
Highly professional and compassionate team! They provided the support and guidance needed every step of the way. Thank you
I had a wonderful experience with IOP at Choicepoint. The counselors and the peer recovery specialist were top-notch, compassionate and extremely helpful in my recovery. Can't recommend enough if you're looking for… outpatient addiction treatment.
It helped me a lot starting my recovery journey, groups were very good and my one on one counselor was amazing
Great people, especially Samantah I had an assessment done for me by her, don’t have much to say other than very welcoming and professional establishment.
Best place to get better I was in a rehab before no help really it was all about money after I left the other place I relapsed because they never follow up I ended in choice point by someone from a hospital where I was… after I want it to get better so they send me to choice point friendly ppl I thought it was going to be like the last place nothing no even close choice point was really good to me from the beginning found me a do otro for follow ups and since I left choice point I been good clean and found a job got better relationship with my kids definitely recommend to anyone who’s an addict thank u choice point
I’ve been with choicepoint for almost a year now, I no longer attend IOP but I asked to stay in the program longer purely so I can still speak with my counselor Jessica. Jessica keeps me grounded, listens to me vent and… puts up with my ADHD ramblings 🤣 She genuinely cares and it shows. She is compassionate, caring, personable and the list goes on. I can’t say enough good things about her! 😂
I attended the IOP program for 5 months. I chose the virtual meeting option as I was unable to be there in person. The instructors were well informed and knowledgeable of the recovery plans. Some of them were addicts /… alcoholics in the past and are a great example of recovery success. My idol instructor is James Collins who taught the evening sessions. My councilor ( Samantha M ) was very attentive to my progress throughout my recovery. I learned so much about the root causes of my addiction, relapse management skills, and many emotional and psychological deficits that caused my disease. I highly trust and recommend this establishment to anyone suffering from addiction and looking for recovery and a sober lifestyle.
