Caron Treatment Centers – Wernersville Detox and Rehab Services
Caron Treatment Centers – Wernersville is recorded as offering detox, residential treatment and intensive outpatient. Supervised withdrawal comes first, with the greatest danger in the opening seventy-two hours. The structured element runs during the day and people go home afterwards. Anyone unsure which level fits should ask for an assessment rather than choosing from a list, since placement criteria exist precisely to make that judgement.
Combined treatment is not recorded, which is worth checking before committing. Medication-assisted treatment combines approved medication with counseling and clinical review. The weekly time commitment varies considerably between providers, so establish it early rather than after admission.

Caron Treatment Centers – Wernersville Reviews and Ratings
Patients and loved ones with experience of Caron Treatment Centers are invited to leave a review here. Say what the program was like day to day, how staff treated you and how leaving treatment was planned.
Caron has the most knowledgeable and helpful staff on all levels. They really are top of the line. Best treatment I have ever had hands down. This place will save your life.
Caron saved my life! Absolutely would recommend. An amazing and educated team that covers multiple approaches to recovery and treatment. Over a year sober now and unbelievably grateful for Caron. I couldn’t have done it… without them. Shoutout to Jess & Danielle!
Caron was an unbelievable experience that helped me tremendously. All of the councilors and staff really care about you as an individual. I just hoped I was able to sleep in the house I was staying at. Unfortunately I… had to sleep in mens phase 1 instead of RLM so it took a few days to really feel part of the community. Also I came in with seraquil for sleep that worked for me but they took me off of it and tried other medications that did not work so my sleep wasn't great at all. But other then that I would 100% recommend caron to anyone who wants to recover from addiction. I learned so much about myself and my therapist jessica was unbelievable and soo helpful in my journey. She cared about me as a person my well being and my recovery.
I got sober at Caron in Wernersville PA! Enough said. Michelle is amazing!!!
Amazing and supportive staff, saving lives and providing the extended support needed to ensure long-term success.
The only ones I’d trust with my family!
As a clinical professional, they provide great services for consumers with SUD issues . The services are greatly needed in the community because they are slowly going away. Please support them s they can there mission… of providing holistic recovery based services .
Caron is absolutely phenomenal. The staff was incredibly caring, compassionate, and responsive throughout the entire experience. We truly felt that our loved one was in good hands, and the level of support and attention… they provided meant so much to our family. We are very grateful for the wonderful care they gave.
A place were recovery is taken personal. Treatment is intended to be caring and supportive. Family and friends are also taken in consideration. It sets the foundation for healing and healthy development.
We had a wonderful experience in Caron! Everyone is very professional and nice. You can feel the good environment and the encouragement that the people who are doing the rehabilitation need. They responded immediately… every time we needed it. The support they receive is amazing!
Recently had someone go here for treatment. The first thing that came as a concern was for the onboarding process. The lady that handled it was fine but was unable to answer any of the questions or concerns I had… regarding the protocols for personal belongings going missing as is stated to be a problem in other reviews. It seemed every question that followed was just diverted to “the nursing staff handles that” . She seemed to have no idea on anything about how the facility operated. I can disregard that I mean she knew how to process payment without an issue. The days following I’d have expected to be updated some way as to the progress and any changes happening to the loved one I had in there. That was apparently not a thing they do even though on the intake that was the one thing they insisted on happening. Instead I had to repeatedly email them just to get lack luster answers and no real updates. Then when I do get an update not by them mind you I hear about them having discrepancies with med passes and the nurse taking it on herself to say my loved one “didn't look like she needed” one of her medication. That was followed by a make up dose so apparently the nurse misjudged. If you also where hoping your loved one would be able to walk the beautiful grounds they advertise. Nope. I made a person request and was told they would and that never happened. Every time all they could say is “there’s no chaperone available”. That’s definitely great for someone’s well being. Locked inside a building for 24hrs a day. As far as being kept updated on treatment and the persons well being. None of that either. I was kept in the dark on them not eating and had to bring it to the facilities attention directly through multiple emails of course. But just like the med passes issue after that they seemed to be on the ball. As for dropping packages off to people there. It was pretty straightforward. Apparently you do have to remind them about it since I dropped some personal hygiene products off at 7am and they had to be reminded to give said items to the person at 12:30. All together I got what I expected out of the place. Lack luster made to look good by a bunch of well choreographed websites and brochures, made to look top of the line. They did their job but by no means did it well or even acceptable by how they like to claim to be even a good facility.
This place changed my life!
Caron was a wonderful recovery experience for me. I’ve been to a few rehabilitation centers and none has provided the quality of care and connection as Caron treatment center. When I arrived at the Wernersville campus I… didn’t know what to expect but I immediately felt safe in the environment. From detox to Men’s relapse unit the physical and mental transition was profound. Group therapy and individual counseling rejuvenated my spiritual condition. I left Caron believing I had a solid foundation to build my recovery on. Most of the staff have substantial time clean/sober and can identify precisely with the clients. Caron Treatment Center is top tier rehabilitation.
What a gift the Caron Foundation has given me-the tools to trudge my road of happy destiny. The education of the disease concept that was given to me and my family during my time there, made all the difference! Thanks… and gratitude to Caron for saving my life!
So many years ago for my son. A great program, I only wish insurance covered more than one month. I still receive daily reflective text messages, that I look forward to.
We were beyond impressed with everything at Caron. The facilities, the thoughtful care, the programming, chapel, the people. Despite the circumstances, we felt so blessed to have our son there and we also felt blessed… to be a part of such an amazing place. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Helpful ever day. Please don’t stop. Alexa Reilly
Awesome experience and life changing, my counselor Melanie Zobian was amazing. She’s a great person and very relatable.
HORRIBLE
My family will always be grateful for Caron and the impact they had on our lives. My mother attended treatment there in 2013, and the care, support, and expertise she received helped her achieve sobriety and build a… healthier future. What made Caron especially meaningful was that they recognized addiction as a family disease, not just an individual struggle. The family education program was pivotal for us. It provided invaluable insight into addiction, recovery, boundaries, and healthy ways to support our loved one while also taking care of ourselves. The knowledge and tools I gained helped me heal and grow alongside my mother's recovery journey. More than a decade later, the positive effects of Caron's treatment and family programming are still evident in our lives. I highly recommend Caron to anyone seeking compassionate, evidence-based addiction treatment and meaningful family support.
I went to Caron in 2000, at that time I was 16 years old. I detoxed and then stayed for adolescent rehab program. At the time, I was given a scholarship but my parents still payed a lot of money. I had such a great… experience there. I got to enjoy Father Bills Church every Sunday and also a counselor who was Native American and would take us deep into the forest and cleanse us with sage. I will never forget Caron, the staff and amazing memories there.

I felt the treatment staff, therapists, grounds crew were great. The detox nurses were great. The clinical executive was very nice after I left. The detox is like a modern day hospital. You are there 1-2 days. Then you… are moved to a “unit”. Like frat house level amenities. The 500 yard walk to the dining hall was ok, except people who were im withdrawl. The top of the executive food chain, the people were nice. I was sitting in Detox crying with a migraine. My therapist looked at me like “oh boy here we go.” The Detox nurses were good. They need to escort the entire medical staff off the grounds. Before I left, in benzo withdrawl, I was offered increased seroquil, and a nap. This place is WOEFULLY misinformed on benzo withdrawl. 40 years on Klonopin, I was given an 18 day taper. I came in a functioning member of society. When I left AMA I was hallucinating, my feet were numb, my head felt as if it would explode. I made it home. I am going to RCA ❤️🩹. They do 30 day Valium tapers. All in all the place was nice. You are treated like a child. I get it. Some need to be treated like this. I have revisited my review several times. 9/10 people come, get clean, leave. If they have anything over on you, it automatically becomes a 60 day stay. You are not in the decision making process. With Caron’s IOP they we’re basically recommending close to 90 days of treatment. They took me off a medication I was taking 40 years. Why? Who knows. The psych doctor I saw prior to coming to Caron reccomended no in patient treatment. If insurance allows 56 days, assume you are staying 56 days. Like I said there were positives. The groups were great. The speakers were great. The food was good. If you are looking at coming off long term benzodiazepine usage, please do your research first. My bp was 188/128. They told me it was “all in my head.” Or “It’s anxiety.” Like I can control my bp. “Come on cardiovascular system up it to 188/128.” I felt like I was going to blow a gasket. They offered me more psych meds. Of which I wanted none to start with. I came in on two meds. I would of left on 6. How this is progress idk. They prescribed me Tregratol for benzodiazepine withdrawl. First dose. Blinding migraine. Second dose. Bllinding migraine. Third dose. I refused. The second doctor in demand threatned me “If you don’t take your meds, you cant go to PHP.” Fourth dose. Blinding migraine. Tergrtol has 3 FDA black box warnings. Granulocytoma, some blood disorder, necrotizing fascitis. No thank you. Benzodiazepine withdrawal often doesn’t peak until two weeks. I had less time than that remaining. I had not slept in 6 nights, peeing water for number 2. Vomitimg. Cramping. I couldn’t maintain fluid levels. I went straight to the closest hospital. Two bags of fluids, migraine medicine, and a shot of Ativan and I was amazingly cured. The ER doc said “Caron does alot of good for alot of people, but they are woefully uneducated in benzo withdrawl.” They do do alot of good for alot of folks. Most drug treatment, this place would do just fine. Benzodiazepines are another animal totally. They need advanced training for people on them as long as I was. Medical literature says if you feel any withdrawal at all you run the risk of severe, prolonged withdrawal. I left AMA my feet were numb, my hands were numb, I was dehydrated, I was having visual & auditory hallucinations. Im thankful, oddly, for my time there. I know what not to look for in a treatment center. People on long term Benzodiazepines need to look for a 30-45 day taper. Min. Even that is a bit too short. 2-3 months is ideal. If you need off pain meds, booze, crack, crank, pcp, nitrous, kratum, 7-0h, this place likely will work for you. If you need off long term benzodiazepine use, please, please, please, look elsewhere.
I went here thinking they could help me get off of 1 medication that was causing me severe depression & anxiety. I was told that the emotional support component would be there to help me. It was not at all. They are a… strong center for treating alcoholism. I found the program was poorly executed and did not help at all. I tried to leave early and was told if I did it would be against medical advice. I felt forced to stay concerned that my insurance would not cover it. I live in severe, chronic pain and unfortunately, while there, I did not want anyone to know how much pain I was in and I also was able to constantly rest so my pain levels were not at their usual state. Doctor Yang told my private doctor information he swore not to tell after making me sign a disclosure form based on that promise- he lied to my face. Its fair to say he ruined my life. My quality of life is maybe a 2 now. My decisions were taken away from me bcs he did this and my body is weakening and worsening now. My neck is in severe pain now, greatly worsened, and I have limited ability to use my arms. I can barely lift them. Im left to suffer with this, spinal pain, migraines triggered by the neck, shoulder & spine pain as well as pelvic pain- I have pudendal neuralgia. I'm tearing up now- Yang took a part of my life away that he had no right to touch. I am an adult who makes my own decisions & I was treated like a child. He greatly harmed me besides lying to me. I hate him & ask you don't trust this place. They are NOT ethical. They literally lied to me & blew me off when I tried to approach them. Don't expect a different outcome. Don't go here. The people who pay private pay via word of mouth have a MUCH better experience & it is a totally different outcome, but I would still not go here if you have any other issues. They did not help me at all and I wasted my time and money when I belonged somewhere else. They were not compassionate to my pain at all or another health issue. 1 night a nurse refused me medication I needed saying I could wait until the morning. I was in severe pain. The program is random and sloppy. And everyone is so busy you can't get help if you need it 1 on 1 at all or in a timely manner. I was told they could treat me with my dual diagnosis- no. He took my ability to function away & lied to do it. I am in so much pain. I was driven back home crying in pain from there. I regret this decision daily. They worry about liability & cash flow more than anything & can be difficult to speak with- arrogant. I tried to talk to Yang 1 morning with an appointment, and he seemed busy and irritated. He told me the appointment was likely a mistake and had to go. I was going thru a hard time and did not speak up to tell him I made the appt. I was trying to leave. Hes fine today and I'm suffering for life. It isn't okay & I hope more like this comes out. This place led my life to be almost fully bedridden and I am not going to get better. I am sorry that I ever went there. Worst mistake of my life & I pay for it every day. The fact that I was lied to by the doctor makes me so angry. I wish I had Yang & another recorded saying they'd not share what they did. I don't deserve this and warn anyone- don't go here for a good program. Private pay might be different and don't trust them. Besides living in severe pain, its breaking my heart that due to this I can't continue caring for my mom who has a progressive disease. I could do it with proper pain care & there's nobody else who can. Yang took that away from me as well. I can't describe the anger & they did nothing for me. Again, its strong for alcoholism. I was told I lacked coping skills due to the facts my dad had recently died, life circumstances were difficult & I was caring for my mom who has a progressive disease- it was a lot. I had no support. I have bounced back and I believe my coping skills are just fine as I manage this nightmare- no thanks to Caron. They don't get to know you as a person which is vital to heal. I hate this place. I live in so much pain now.
Just Go- It’s what you were hoping for!! Excellent Programs!
Phenomenal results and great support while in treatment and continue to do well. If relapse, no support or even a return call. Always hope for a long term recovery and will never give up, but cannot count on Caron if… additional help is needed once a relapse occurs. So sad.
