New Directions Treatment Services – Reading Detox and Rehab Services
What New Directions Treatment Services – Reading offers, on record, is intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Day programming is scheduled, with evenings spent at home. Anyone unsure which level fits should ask for an assessment rather than choosing from a list, since placement criteria exist precisely to make that judgement.
Only one side is on record here, so ask directly if both are needed. Approved medication is paired with counseling and regular review. The weekly time commitment varies considerably between providers, so establish it early rather than after admission.

New Directions Treatment Services – Reading Address, Location and Contact Information
New Directions Treatment Services – Reading is located at 832 North Park Road in Reading, Pennsylvania, 19610. The city lies within Berks County. The catchment reaches beyond the city itself. How someone gets there matters more than it sounds: travel is one of the commonest reasons a course of treatment stops partway.
A quick call before you go will settle directions, parking and what to expect first time. If getting there is hard, ask about a remote first appointment. Where no one answers, leaving a message and calling again later usually works better than giving up.

New Directions Treatment Services – Reading Reviews and Ratings
Patients and loved ones with experience of New Directions Treatment Services are invited to leave a review here. Say what the program was like day to day, how staff treated you and how leaving treatment was planned.
They never call you back. I’ve been trying get appointment for 6 weeks….. left messages for staff…. No response.
I transferred here after 4 years clean at the same time as a neighbor did. We both had an intake appointment the same day. He got dosed that day, while I was told to wait 3 days before getting dosed. This is a… medication I need daily. I had to go 3 days without medication because of their incompetence! If I used and OD during that time I am fairly certain my family could sue for medical malpractice due to their negligence in understanding their own doctor's schedule. Since then I have yet to receive my take homes back while my neighbor got all of his over a week ago. We both had the same amount of clean time, transferred the same time from the same place, yet I have either been discriminated against, or am suffering due to the lack of organization and competence. I cannot get a straight answer from anyone on their policies for transfers, I can only assume because no one knows what they are doing or it is not a thought out policy. But either way I would recommend you find another facility if possible! I hope to find another facility and transfer AWAY FROM THIS UNPROFESSIONAL, DISCRIMINATORY, "ORGANIZATION "
This place is horrible they don't care about anything but making money. If you want a Dr. That actually cares about you and your recovery that has credentials, experience and a passion for helping addicts go to Dr. Lee… Radosh at tower health addiction medicine it's on 183 past St. Joe's hospital. Every single person there treats you with kindness and respect. They have many different options if you choose to go the MAT route and they take almost every insurance including medicaid medical assistance. Just because we are addicts doesn't mean we should be treated poorly when we are trying to get better and these people will treat you poorly!
This place disrespects you so bad.all the nurses except one always talks down to you. You can’t even take Benadryl if it shows up in your urine they act like it’s fentanyl. Very rude treats you like a junkie.
Very good staff great service place has helped me so much and saved my life new beginnings very grateful
If you follow the program rules you will be happy with the services given here. Those who neglect the rules and regulations are the ones who have negative things to say. The only negative is the revolving door of… counselors
I would not be here with out their help. Every one from the top of staff to the guards show they care.
Terrible place. They listen to hear say and take your takeouts. DURING A PANDEMIC!!!! what a shame!!!
Daily experience isn't bad at all, of course that's all based on your timing!! Most days in and out in less than ten minutes! I will stay the staff has a large caseload that is definitely surpassing the amount of… employees & counselors, however this seems to be the case everywhere these days!
There weird about insurance though.
If ANYONE NEEDS LEGAL ADVICE to challenge New Directions corrupt Practices, Policies, Procedures....there are allot of Legal avenues...What this site does is ILLEGAL! I DO NOT want people knowing where this post is from… and I deleted my post, yet, the site will not allow me to delete the p[ost, or delete my being on the site! There are Legal Ramifications for this and unless they DELETE my ever being on this site, I am going to Use Legal Action! More Evidence of Corruptions...Ha! Wake Up....
Dr Santoro is one of the best methadon doctors on the east coast. If you want to get clean he'll help you get there a real class act.
I am a mother of 3 I was clean for 4 years and had a relapse.I came in hopeless and no where else to go and I got help from a gentlemen names Bryan. He seen the shape I was in and knew I was going to go back out soon… after trying to detox myself.Right away he took me to the emergency room because they CANNOT just take you right in without the whole process being taken. With his help the new directions works with some of Readings hospital they helped me for that day and I was able to withstand a few more days detoxing myself. The whole process takes a little but they got me in as soon as a week.I been clean for almost a year and being a heroin addict for 14 years. This is the only option that ever worked for me.Everyone is wonderful.I couldn't of put my life in anyone elses hands and done better.Thank you
My mother was a former patient. She visited me out of state prior to the COVID-19 out break and due to the pandemic my mother was stuck out of state for roughly two months. She did a temporary transfer to a clinic where… I live which was what the recommendation was at that time. I kept following up with the clinic to confirm when it would be a good time for my mother to go back I was informed they where not doing any out of state transfers due to COVID-19. I had to speak to the front desk to find out what process had to be done for my mother to go back home. I was informed my mother would need to go to the clinic and reapply. My mother has been back for two weeks and was told she could not be treated and has been with out medication for two weeks. Even my grandmother has been hung up on trying to get my mother reinstated. I called to see what has been going on and eneded up leaving a voicemail with a counselor early in the morning to not get a call back. I even spoke to the front desk to get an idea of how long it would take for someone to get reinstated and was told roughly one week. A voicemail can not be left with the director of the program because the voice mail box is full this should show exactly what kind of service is being rendered. I have been in the medical field for 14 years and this kind of service is not acceptable. Letting someone be at risk of relapse is not proper medical care and goes against every oath a healthcare provider takes.
This place is wonderful if you want help it works. My counselor Linda is one of the most informed I have ever met Nurses are tops great people great place Thanx new Directions you saved my life
Alora is great
This place is a complete joke . If I could leave zero stars I would . My mother wasn’t planning to visit and guest dose at this place . A day before her arrival they decided to change their decision . I called and got… transferred to the wrong person. The person they transferred me too refused to transfer me to the correct person so I had to hang up and call back . I then spoke to a lady named Brenda who hung up on my before I was able to ask her my question . So to finally get an answer I had to call back a third time . This time they transferred me to the manger who was also rude and hung up on me . Overall, this company’s needs new employees or employees who actually have customer service training . They were unprofessional and very rude.
Yes, they do walk ins however, they are no longer located in West Reading for anyone that maybe reading but not looking at the actual location. They are now 832 Park Road Wyomissing. Walking in is going to be your best… bet as they are not fond of chatting over the phone and honestly since there is paperwork that needs to be filled out it is just better to GO IN and recover! They have Suboxone and Methadone. This program is not a substitute to get high! It really does help and if you ALLOW the medication, staff, and sessions to work in your life you WILL see changes. You cannot just drink/dissolve the medication and think it's the magical CURE because it's not! You've got to make the changes as well. I've been 8 yrs on 40mg, got all 6 take homes and go there pick up and LEAVE. Do your best to just focus on you as not everyone is there for the "right reasons"! Much luv and respect! Wish you all the best!! Do not rush yourself to get off..I said when I started that I only wanted to get off Blues and get out. But, then I started loving and living my best life and well... Would a diabetic just stop insulin and say...I know how to stop eating sugar now and bread so I think I'll stop my insulin? Or an asthmatic saying, I've got this breathing thing under control so eF my inhalers! This is a DISEASE ppl and everyone's level of care of different. I rather 1 day a week 1 hr of counseling every 2 months. Then a lifetime of the unknown or death. Best wishes everyone!!
Great clinic Nurses are great counselors very good. If you wanna get help this is a great place to start. Care managers are tops.Holly an unbelievable help. Thanx
I love new directions....they offer a variety of different services from methadone to Suboxone to sublocade to vivitrol. Also counseling, therapy , group sessions. I've been going there for over a year and I believe… strongly that they are a major component to me staying sober, which has brought about the best I've ever done in life, including bring about my daughter. Also the counselor s and therapist are top notch.
Good program
Rude as hell
If you need help n want change go asap don't wait just go
Is a very good place to be help.
When your serious about stopping and getting help the program works. Someone very close to me was in the clinic for 5 years and successfully completed the program and is still clean today. So if u hear bs about the… clinic its either bc they arent ready or bc counselors pull their coat on their bs and they dont like it..
Great counselors (Carlos and Ramiro) Only issue is their takeout policies! If your ready to stop using it will work 100% but I won't be like alot of people their for 10 yrs, 20 yrs kinda crazy.... A yr or two maybe 3… should be plenty... But EVERYONE is different I guess!
