Transitions Counseling and Consulting – Goodyear

This was my first session with Transitions Counseling and Consulting so it was informal. My counselor was very professional and easy to talk to, which surprised me since it was our first meeting. I believe I’ll be able… to easily open up and talk to her. My counselor is great. She’s very easy to talk to, asks real questions that are focused on my issues, and makes me think about the consequences of my actions, but strives to get me to refocus on what is important to me.

Kayla & Debby are amazing humans. They made such a scary thing to start, such an enjoyable experience. I’m looking forward to my journey :)

Went through intake as my psychiatric provider recommended I do an IOP. Left a bad taste in my mouth as the woman doing my intake assessment told me that I should not have been diagnosed with ADHD as an adult as adults… can’t be diagnosed. This is incorrect, and I hope she is not spreading this misinformation. Learning disabilities do not disappear with age, and I further explained that due to my culture, my family did not seek out any sort of behavioral healthcare when I was a child. I work in behavioral health so this is very disheartening to hear the misinformation and lack of cultural competency. I recommend Transitions Counseling review the CLAS standards set by AHCCCS with their staff.

Geneva was a great listener and gave us some great advice for our family. We are looking forward to our next visits.

Scheduling (and rescheduling) is easy. Office is located in a quiet, less-traveled part of a large building. Quite happy.

Transitions Counseling is an amazing organization! The communication between the staff, therapist and patients is above and beyond! 10 my therapist is really caring and helps me get through my issues. She challenges me to think outside of the box and gives me assignments to work on between sessions.

I now have Julio as my couselor, as Marlee has moved to start her own clinic, and Julio took me in and has been like family to help continue to make me a better person and give me such great support unconditionally. God… Bless Transitions they have been outstanding. And Julio is an awesome couselor. He has been my light at the end of the tunnel. So much thanks.

If you’ve been thinking about therapy… this is your sign 👀 I’ve been going to Traditions Counseling and seeing Debbi for over a year now, and she is truly THAT therapist 🙌 Every Wednesday I walk in one of two ways:… either completely falling apart… or feeling like life is finally calm for once. And somehow, she knows exactly what I need in both moments. On the hard days, she helps me pick up the pieces and get grounded again. On the good days, she reminds me to slow down and actually enjoy the calm (instead of waiting for chaos to come back 😅). She has this perfect balance of being supportive, real, and gently holding you accountable without ever making you feel judged. And let’s be honest—that’s rare. I’ve grown so much this past year, and a big part of that is because of her. 10/10 recommend. If you’re even thinking about starting therapy… just do it. And go see Debbi 🤍

Went to go sign up and was told to fill out paperwork, never filled out anything but somehow got charged 60 dollars never put my card information in. They the keep trying to email me to come back, or something’s ready… in my portal. Scam.

I have been receiving treatment from this organization for 1 year and have had 3 different therapists. All have been great but it seems like this place has horrible turnover. Recently was sent to a new therapist because… my recent one resigned. 2 days to treatment and I receive a call stating the counselor is double booked and can’t see me therefore all my appointments scheduled for the next 6 months are canceled. No other explanation. As a veteran who served this country for 33 years, this is a horrible business practice. I would recommend looking elsewhere for services.

I had an appointment set up with a counselor for the first meeting for my teenage son who is battling with depression and suicidal ideation. Counselor canceled and I was notified 30 minutes before our appointment time.… 100% understand that life happens but in these situations, especially when you’re dealing with an extremely vulnerable population, there should be back up plans in place. There should be other providers. We’re willing to step in when there are a call offs to take over or accommodations. When I exhibited frustration that there were no other counselors That week in person, I felt like I was met with hostility. My advice would be to come up with a better system for call offs so that you have Coverage for people that are desperately in need. After reading other reviews, it seems like a common trend, call offs, changing providers, providers, quitting, or being fired. I wish I would’ve read that before waiting two weeks for my son to get help.
