COPE Community Services Inc Photos and Images

COPE Community Services Inc presents as a Tucson property on North Alvernon Way. What is visible is a working clinical setting rather than a residential one, with rooms for individual and group sessions.

The surrounding landscape is the wide Sonoran Desert basin, where flat streets open onto views of the surrounding mountain ranges. Sam Hughes itself is the historic neighborhood of brick bungalows beside the University of Arizona. The visual character of a facility is part of what people weigh up, particularly when several providers offer the same level of care.

recently had an intake appointment with this agency, during which I openly discussed behavioral concerns and shared personal information because I was seeking the help and support I felt I needed. After the appointment,… the agency contacted the police and requested a welfare check. When the police contacted me, they told me they were unclear about what the agency expected them to do. This experience left me feeling confused, frustrated, and extremely uncomfortable with how my information and situation were handled. I no longer feel that I can trust this agency with my personal information or feel comfortable returning for services. I am very disappointed with how this situation was handled and believe there should have been clearer communication and better judgment regarding the circumstances. My intake specialist was Zaniah Burton. Based on my experience, I would not feel comfortable working with her or returning to this agency

This place is not where you want to go for treatment. The people working there are just there to collect a pay check not to help you or to listen. The psychiatrist has her cameras on her computer covered with paper.… When asked why she does that she says because there’s people watching from your computer. She said that just like your being tracked in your iPhone they watch you through the camera in your computer. This is a psychiatrist. The case worker Maribel, half the time she doesn’t know if she’s coming or going. She forgets literally everything and to remember what you talk to her about she had to record you when you call her with concerns. Then there’s the therapist. She would sit there and say nothing. Not a word but she didn’t hesitate to look at her watch and when your hour is up she wouldn’t hesitate to say ok time up and walk you out. The groups they have consist of you going to a room and watching movies like Coco. The program director Lia really needs further education. She also needs to work on improvements to make this place what it should be because when I spoke to her she refused to take accountability for the anything including that there needs to be changes. She came across like she was somebody that could make things better but did nothing and the manner in which she portrays herself makes you believe she’s intelligent enough but her actions say otherwise. Don’t take your family to this place. Do better.

This is by far the worst staff I have ever came in contact with. They are rude and condescending. The fact that they work with children is beyond scary. The doctors are wonderful. I’m pretty sure they are unaware of the… staffs negligence on Patient’s behalf. I will take this up with the city mayor.

Let me start by saying the counselors are amazing. And I would give this location a higher rating but the receptionists are consistently rude. Often do not greet people. When answering the phone they often hang up on… the caller instead of placing on hold. It makes it difficult to want to go to the site for any paperwork or follow up or meetings. Considering the front desk is the first interaction upon arriving, it sets the tone of the whole place. I referred a friend and the first thing I told them, was don't be put off by the front desk staff. I mean no ill will and I did try to reach out directly first. But seeing as how nothing has changed I hope they will conduct sensitivity training. Edited to add, this is the alvernon location.

My son was seen here for an evaluation and pretty scary . Because my son said he was bored and he got up to walk around and played with a windchime hanging by the door eventually sat on the floor and later laid down .… She in turn said because if this behavior it means he has ADHD and she should know cause she is the doctor and has ADHD and so does her brother. I wonder how many diagnoses she has given because she has it and her brother has so she knows that after seeing my kid in a room a little over 45 min .

My daughter and I moved to Tucson for a year. We really had a rough relationship. She didn't want to go to school, work, take the trash out or wash her own clothes. Casey was her therapist. I never sat in with them but… my daughter was telling me that Casey discuss being responsible and having goals and not just to depend on me. We moved back to Baltimore in 2019 and exactly 1 year later she got her own apartment and has had it for 1 year along with a steady job. Thank you to Casey for helping my daughter R.R. out 2018/2019. I can't thank you enough. My daughter was missing you when we left Tucson.
