**A Five-Star Review for Dr. Michael Alexander D.O. and the Five Star Medical Group Team** I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Michael Alexander D.O. and the entire staff at Five Star Medical Group in… Ambridge, PA. From the moment I became a patient, I was treated with compassion, respect, and genuine concern. The front office staff is truly above reproach — professional, kind, and always willing to help. I came to Dr. Alexander almost five years ago after moving from Alabama, where I had worked as an Orthopedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine PA. My life changed forever after I was hit by a drunk driver on November 23, 2017. I endured numerous life-saving surgeries, and when I came out on the other side, I was left with severe pain that completely changed my quality of life. For years, I struggled to find someone who would truly listen and take the time to understand what I was going through. I wasn’t just looking for treatment — I needed someone willing to look deeper, find answers, and help me regain some sense of normalcy. That person was Dr. Alexander. He listened, cared, and worked with me to get my pain under control. Because of his dedication and the care of his entire team, my life has changed. I am now able to live as normal a life as possible, and that means more to me than words can express. As someone who has spent years in the medical field myself, I know the difference between simply providing care and truly caring for a patient. Dr. Alexander and his staff exemplify what healthcare should be. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to Dr. Michael Alexander and everyone at Five Star Medical Group. I will always be grateful for what you have done for me.

If you are told that your insurance is accepted here, don't believe them. Call your insurance before you ever receive service. I was assured that UPMC insurance is accepted and I never heard otherwise. 1 year after my… first appointment, I received a surprise bill for $1100 with no warning. I called multiple times and was told to ignore the bill because it should be covered. I am still being mailed a bill multiple times a month and now with a $500 late fee. Every time I reach out they say they will take care of it, but that doesn't seem to be happening. Not sure what is going on here, but I believe I was lied to and they are trying to make me pay for the lie. There are other places to receive these services. I would only go here as a last resort.

I spoke with a representative in Medical Records named LINDA who was very disrespectful and used vulgar language which was uncalled for. She was yelling and wouldn’t let me get a word out as I was simply trying to do my… job. I want her fired, thank you.

Doctor was 30 minutes late for my appointment because he was wrestling a dog into the office. Made me 30 minutes late for work as the first appointment of the day. Dog was whining and barking in the office next to us… the whole time. Staff is very friendly but I need to be on time for appointments. Leave the pets at home.

They aren't reliable with calling in medication.

Finally I have found an actual doctor! (DR. M. ALEXANDER) has the best bedside manner and listens to what you are saying and has honestly replied with direction to help my issues and is very honest and knowledgable… about what he says back to me as a patient. 25 years and multiple specialist whom have never given me options before jumping on and saying; Surgery is how to try and fix what’s wrong with you!!!! Well 13 major surgeries in a 7 year back to back of going under the knife he gave me other options to try instead of pawning me off onto another doctor as I’ve been treated in the past seven years. He’s not afraid to be honest with me, instead of pointing me to go to somebody else to fix what they think they might be able to do so sick of hearing the word (SURGERY IS THE ANSWER)Anybody that’s out there and need a doctor that does listen to you and does answer you with honest answers right to the point. He’s your doctor, where has he been in the last seven years of my life words, cannot even say how excited I am that I finally found someone to listen, and honestly answer me with options Sincerely, EM. 🌡️🩹🔬💊 🧬🩺🩻💉

I always LOVE coming here! I get in and out in no time! There is always last minute availability appointments open. The doctor is great and by far my favorite doctor. Receptionist is very friendly. They work with you on… anything you need help with. 1000% stand by my words and encourage anyone who is seeking a new Family Practitioner to give this location a visit!

Absolutely horrible. Very rude and disrespectful to not only myself but many other patients I've seen there as well. They act like im a burden to them every time I call to just ask a simple question. Worst doctor I've… ever been to plain and simple and mostly is due to His wife (the secretary)Who is extremely rude and inhospitable and does not do her job. Always has a bad Attitude and takes it out on patients and others around her. Because of all of this i Would not ever recommended anyone to go to 5 star medical services.

I absolutely love the staff here. They are all very professional and kind. Any questions I asked were answered with a smile on their face. While it can be nerve racking to find a new PCP they made the process very easy… and comfortable. 10/10 recommend Five Star Medical

Only giving one star because I have to give that many. Set up an appt for tomorrow at 1pm. The schedule needed to be changed I guess. So my appt was moved to 10am without my knowledge until the appt was confirmed today… (the day before). I was never asked if the new time was good for me. I wanted my original appt time of 1 because that’s what I was told the last time I spoke to the office. They’re unprofessional at best. This was my first appt with them. I won’t be back. I scheduled my day according to what I needed. 1pm tomorrow was the ONLY time I could get into the office for my appt.

As compassionate as they are convenient! Made an intimidating process painless and speedy. Can't sing their praises enough.

I recently had Juvéderm (facial fillers) and Botox performed by Dr. Alexander at 5 Star Medical Services. I’m beyond thrilled with the outcome. I can honestly say I’ve never been so happy with not only my results, but… with my entire experience. His office is extremely clean and organized and he and his staff are such wonderful, caring people. Renee, who scheduled my appointment was so down to earth and easy to talk to. I was lucky enough to meet Dr. Alexander’s wife, who took the time to sit down with me (as well as Renee) and chat for a little before my appointment. Their warm, welcoming nature made me feel like I was having a spa day with my girlfriends. The staff and services provided are truly a step above the rest. You’ll find integrity and honesty in Dr. Alexander , and it shows. As his patient you will know exactly what’s remaining in each of your units, after each injection, as well as right before your unit is empty. This is a vital step that is often left out at other locations. It’s important because it allows the patient to be able to choose which problem area will take priority over others. It’s hard to believe but the majority of the time other offices offering these services will not show you what is left in the units. They proceed to inject and will hand you a mirror at the end to show you the results. What happens then is that the patient realizes an area on their face hasn’t been touched because the Dr chose to place the product in other locations. (Possibly areas that didn’t bother you as much as the areas that were missed.) This results in the patient (most likely) paying for another unit to receive the desired look they had hoped for. I’ve actually seen a Dr throw away a unit that still had some product left inside of it! Its taken me many years to have finally found a doctor who’s genuine in wanting his patients to receive top notch care and services. Please don’t spend your hard earned money and time at other places. They only want one thing- and that’s your money. At 5 Star Medical you WILL receive the services that you desired and that you paid for. You’ll be in such great hands with Dr. Alexander and you will absolutely love your results.

When I first entered this facility, I noticed how clean it was. The people were friendly, the decor was inspirational and motivational, and the service was top notch. I am new to the area and was looking for a primary… care physician, but was instantly reassured that myself and my family were well taken care of and given quality care. I would highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a new doctor.

I was introduced to Dr. Alexander while I was at Resources for Human Development in Midland. The first tinme I met him he was pushing on my stomach and doing a routine exam. At this point he asked if I had a hernia… because I had a lump in the middle of my stomach. Dr. Alexander didn't know the difference between an abdominal muscle and a hernia. I did not have a choice while in RHD to choose a physician but if I could have I would have asked for a different one then. Other than the "hernia" question he may have said a total of 16 words during our introductory visit. Post rehab I continued with him because he took my Insurance and RHD was able to get me in his office very quickly. Well my first visit to his office in Ambridge I was scolded by the women at the window for being 15 minutes early to my appointment. I was then called back and she took my blood pressure, pulse and temp. At jo time did she wash her hands or use antibacterial soap . I was then put in 1 if the three 6ft by 5ft patient rooms. Dr Alexander came in quickly and left just as quick. No Hello, or pleasantries. He sat at a small desk, thumbed thru a folder , write the prescription and told me to make an appointment for a week later. I did well 2 days previous to the appointment I had to reschedule. I called a total of 9 times in 2 days to reschedule and I never got a return phone call. To make another appointment I had to physically go to the office and get reprimanded by the same women at the front desk for the second time. They couldn't get me in for two weeks. They would not write me any medication to fill the gap in between visits. Running out of medication while in a M.A.T. is super dangerous but they did not care and the front desk women could not own the fact that they did not return calls. Well a couple weeks later I had to reschedule and had the same problems. I come to find out the women with the horrible attitude and complete lack of empathy is the Doctors wife but I learned that from another patient since the only thing Dr. "Bedsidemanor" Alexander said to me was " make an appointment for next week". This kind of establishment pushes both the recovering addict and the addicts family away from Medication Assisted Therapy's. Doctors like this one also put a huge strain on health care by making all patients even those like myself who passed every drug test come everyweek. If you want a real doctor and you want real support thru a Medication Assisted Therapy try O.A.R In Aliquippa. They are kind, understanding and most importantly PROFESSIONAL!
