About The Ranch – Frederick
The Ranch is a nonprofit residential recovery program for men, set on a large rural campus at 7902 Fingerboard Road in Frederick, within Frederick County, Maryland. It provides ASAM Level 3.1 low-intensity residential care rather than detox or acute rehab.
Adult men with substance use disorders stay for roughly three to six months, combining counseling and psychoeducational groups with life skills classes, job preparation and help toward a GED. The program also offers Level 1.5 outpatient clinical services and accepts clients only through a professional referral. The organization started in 1974 as a youth ranch and turned to serving adult men in recovery in 2015.

Treatment Services at The Ranch
Residents at The Ranch take part in a weekly schedule that includes a substance use disorder counseling session, clinical psychoeducational groups, life skills classes and several mutual aid meetings such as AA or NA. The program follows SAMHSA’s eight dimensions of wellness to address health, work, relationships and other parts of daily life.
Partner organizations supply case management, peer support, employment and job training help, and primary care. People taking buprenorphine or Suboxone are welcome, though methadone is not accepted. Once residents finish, The Ranch continues to offer support as they move back into the community.

How Much Does Treatment at The Ranch Cost?
Paying out of pocket for rehab in Maryland often costs $7,000 to $30,000 a month for residential care and $1,500 to $5,500 a month for outpatient services; these are typical state costs and not The Ranch’s own prices or a quote.
