One star is way too good for these people. They need to be shut down! They are horrible human beings, if you aren’t “white” they are rude and disgusting! Also expect to not get help, you are the last one for these… disgusting people. Nurse sitting around talking about what cars they drive and screaming laughing while residents are in pain. Super unprofessional and disgusting
My Dad needed PT after a broken hip. The rehabilitation department was understaffed. When we asked about his convalescence after being discharged we requested to talked to the patient social worker. We were given a list… with no follow up. Then one day they said he is being transferred. They transferred him into the worst rehab that they could have done. Now that he has been discharged into the gardens at Stevens that social worker will not even return calls. Great patient care. Do your self a favor go to tower health at least they have better resources for patient care.
I went to the physician offices they have you give your license and give you a sticker to be able to go in no metal scanner the security guard is usually standing in hallway talking this time he was behind reception… sitting on his phone hope nothing happens here security is a 😃 joke
The Doctors and Nurses in the ICU and on Med Surge are the best .They have an amazing staff
Just unpleasant
Wellspan as a whole is horrible but this location is especially horrible. I ended up switching doctors the last two weeks of my pregnancy because of how horrible this place is. They let people wear political clothing.… The front desk people are rude and the old lady thought she could yell at me because I decided to not continue with my appt. “I’m going to tell your doctor!” What a weirdo. My child had been measuring small from my first appt and they never made me aware until that last week I was with them.
My husband was admitted to the ER last week. He was treated right away and the doctors and all the attending nurses were excellent. They were caring, courteous, and helpful. He later was transferred to the surgical… floor. The doctors and nurses were 👍. Richard, Amanda, and Adam were awesome. They cared for my husband and kept him comfortable as best they could. They also were fun to talk to and kept his visit upbeat. I think this hospital is absolutely wonderful. Thank you to all the staff who help in so many ways. God bless them. 🙏
Been with them 28 years . Love it
We moved to Ephrata from the Mechanicsburg area where we had what I consider to be the best HC system in Pa. Wellspan is absolutely atrocious, especially Ephrata hospital. My 83 year old dad has had one issue after… another with WellSpan, the most recent being a short hospital stay. The care he received was sub-par (staff attitudes, unnecessary treatment, etc) and his discharge instructions indicated hospice visits. Well I can assure you he doesn’t need hospice care. It’s like a comedy of errors over there, only trouble is, it isn’t funny! Communication between providers is also hit or miss which is odd considering all the system providers have the same EMR (Epic - which is arguably the Cadillac of EMRs). Do they simply not look? One thing is for sure, WellSpan can’t hold a candle to UPMC on their worst day!
When I first moved back from FL to PA almost 2 years ago I fell coming out of a rental house breaking three fingers on my left hand. I had a great experience at each touchpoint in the ED department from the front desk… to the triage department, doctors, and nurses. 2 weeks ago my dog was startled and bit my index finger on the same hand. Everything was great. For some reason by 5am the next morning my hand and finger blew up. I had developed a lot of bacteria thus the pain and swelling. I was admitted, immediately put on IV antibiotics, and the next day the infection was cut out of finger. Does it look pretty no- but I am not going to die. On admission for 6 days getting 4 hour IV infusions three times a day and infectious disease would mix up the antibiotic. Everyone was professional, kind, caring, and did their very best. I could not have asked for a better experience from a hospital. I expected a wait time in the ER and I am not a needy patient. I try to do what I can for myself. Nurses and doctors work hard. Some of my room mates would have tested my last nerve with how demanding and rude they were. It was clean and I left with almost no infection. I get my stitches next week. I would not hesitate to recommend Ephrata Hospital. For me it is small and you are not just a number.
I would give a half a star if I could but I will say this since I can't, if I were in dire need of medical care this hospital would be the last place I would go to.
1 star is way to high of a score for this absolutely horrible hospital. Absolutely the worst place in the world. Shame on them! My best friend died alone there because the nurse manager refused to allow me to stay with… him even after he begged her. Not only did he die there but he was neglected care for his feet 2 weeks prior. His heels had broken open and NOTHING was done for them. He was discharged while he feet continously bleed with no regard to this issue. Upon his return two weeks later wound care staff questioned why they were not notified 2 last visit. Please stay away from this hospital, especially if you believe you need admission. The nurse manager is rude, disrespectful and absolutely careless for the well being of others. After his death I called to speak with someone to report her, was told someone would call me back...and it was this nurse that called me back. Nothing was able to be reported. Absolutely the worst hospital and nurse manager.
I’m grateful to have a hospital in our community for emergencies, but it generally isn’t my first choice for care. My most recent visit reinforced why I typically choose other facilities when possible. I appreciate… having access to emergency services locally, but based on my experiences, I will continue to seek care elsewhere whenever possible. I hope the hospital can improve its communication, follow-up guidance, and overall patient experience moving forward.
They don’t listen to there patience’s. I’d give them a 0 star if I could
Had a 3 day stay here in January and I couldn't stop raving about how well I was taken care of. But let me tell you the horror story of my June visit. I was admitted from the ER at 10pm, having arrived at 4:45. I was… told I would probably be facing surgery in the morning so no food or liquid overnight BUT since I hadn't eaten that day, they would find me something before midnight. After reminding them multiple times I got a tiny bun with a slice of turkey,a cup of soda and a cup of water. At midnight the water was taken away from me. Jump ahead to 16 hours later, having had MANY imaging and blood tests, the podiatry dept who was supposed to do the surgery still hadn't even been up to say hi or looked at any test results. I was still on no food, no liquids. I finally told my nurse I was leaving and podiatry was there in 15 minutes. After 16 hours of being told I was going to lose my toe that day, the podiatrist looked at it and said, "Nah, I see no reason for surgery." And I was discharged. I was told to miss work for two more days and asked for an excuse, which was promised to me. They gave me dinner and then rushed me out of there. When I got home and went through my discharge papers, there was no work excuse. I tried to message the doctor I had spoken to on the app, but you can't do that. It doesn't allow you. So I called the number on the paperwork and spoke to the charge nurse on duty as instructed, and her response to my request for an excuse was, "Ummmmmm, I don't think we do that. You have to call your doctor for that." Not, let me find out for sure because I don't know. Not, of we made a mistake, let us fix it. It was just, I don't know what I'm doing, make it someone else's problem. I TRULY regret switching from LGH to Wellspan now. Nicole, I will probably be switching back because of you. I can't believe I let these people poke and prod my body.
First time dealing w/this hospital. It took us 3 months to get in for a tilt table test and 4 days prior they called to cancel it bc "something came up". We pushed back and they agreed to see us. The place is clean and… staff is friendly. It's very cold inside though. While waiting on my daughter to have the roughly one hour procedure I was left in a waiting area on the 2nd floor. It was absolutely freezing. So cold my eyes and nose were running and not a tissue box in sight. Resorted to using paper towels from the bathroom. As soon as we left the 2nd floor the temp was noticeabley better.
I just moved from NJ to Ephrata and had to go to the emergency room and then to the PCU unit. The care I received went above and beyond great patient services, from the nurse's, tech's and doctors. Thank you so much for… treating me with such professionalism and kindness!
We have been here numerous times over the years with good experiences. This past Wednesday I had a heart attack. They got me in and installed a stint to correct the 100% blockage with extremely limited damage to my… heart. I had 3 nurses and all 3 were the best ever. There is nothing they could have done better.
Giving a benzo for sleep for a person who withdrew off the first dose was irresponsible to say the least. 20+ years of mess. You can learn about these meds and protracted withdrawal before you become another statistic… (about 1 in 5) at Benzo Buddies who recommend the Ashton Manual (w/ hyperbolic) and Maudsley Guide (all free).
5 stars is not enough for the care we received especially from the behavioral health Team of Troy and most especially, Ken. Ken is kind, caring and great person. Great Teamwork!
ECH was a great experience, I would 100% recommend to anyone looking to have a kid
I felt very comfortable and confident with all the doctors and nurses that worked with me today, I’m so very thankful to this staff for helping me understand my condition!!! And a special thanks to you DR. Root
I had a wonderful experience at this hospital from ER to inpatient. The care was tremendous and Drs were knowledgeable and attentive. This is my go to hospital! Sooo pleased
