What Starting Point Inc – Vancouver offers, on record, is intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Sessions follow a set timetable while people keep living at home. The right level of care is a clinical judgement rather than a preference, and an assessment should produce a defined answer.

Only one side is on record here, so ask directly if both are needed. The weekly time commitment varies considerably between providers, so establish it early rather than after admission.

Starting Point Inc – Vancouver Address, Location and Contact Information

The facility address is 801 Grand Boulevard, Vancouver, Washington, 98661. This address falls in Clark County. People travel in from the surrounding area, and confirming the route beforehand saves difficulty. The practical question of getting to appointments week after week is worth thinking through at the outset.

A quick call before you go will settle directions, parking and what to expect first time. If getting there is hard, ask about a remote first appointment. If the first call does not reach anyone, try again at a different time of day rather than assuming the service is closed.

I recently took the 8 hour zoom class on ASID and I absolutely loved Jen. She shared a lot about her personal journey to sobriety, she was very kind and outgoing. The material was very interesting and makes you view… drinking and substance abuse differently. I enjoyed the 8 hour zoom class a lot. If you can’t make it in person, I highly highly recommend the zoom class. Thank you Jen for a fun but educational class.

Edit: Turned out I was correct and after emailing the DOL myself, not even needing a hearing, it was purely an administrative issue and all Starting Point had to do was get them a letter stating exactly what they put on… my assessment but they were so unwilling to do so. The DOL cleared me for my license. In fact using the fact that Starting Point was unwilling to send the letter stating what was already done on the assessment helped me in my case. I now have my license and everyone I talked to at Starting Point was incorrect after telling me “I’m confused and don’t know what I’m talking about” If you’re looking to work with people who just want to waste your time, speak down to you like you know nothing and tell you that you need more services and pay more money for things not legally required, go here. Otherwise, find somewhere that actually knows the laws and has your best interest in mind. 8/15/2025 I completed an updated assessment with this clinic on April 3, 2025 as part of clearing an old DOL compliance issue. I also completed the recommended Alcohol & Drug Information School shortly after. Even though my assessment was submitted to DOL and clearly documented the lowered level of care, the provider repeatedly made unnecessary and legally irrelevant demands regarding my 2018 assessment, causing significant delays in my process. When I finally researched the DOL requirements myself, I discovered that what was being demanded was not required by law or DOL. After months of going in circles, I had to file for a DOL hearing and formally terminate services just to move forward. If you choose to work with this clinic, I strongly recommend educating yourself on DOL and WAC requirements before starting treatment. Don’t assume the staff will give you accurate or complete information. My experience was frustrating, condescending, and unnecessarily drawn out

I called Starting Point about 2 months ago. I needed to get my License restated by the WA DOL. The treatment agency I went to closed down and won't respond to my emails. They are the only people who could send info to… the DOL and release my drivers license. When I called, I spoke with Kristi. She gave me some helpful information and then got me in touch with De. Between the 2 of them I GOT MY LICENSE BACK!!!!! They were able to contact DOL with all my proof that I completed everything required. I am so grateful! What a relief. They really do want to help people!

This team of people are absolutely amazing. They truly care and and in my experience the best IOP I have participated in. Unfortunately I have participated in quite a few with almost 4 decades of addiction issues. But… today I am free indeed and Starting Point helped me get there and stay free. Special shout out to Jen, she's truly one of the chosen, for sure.

I am finishing up phase 1 of deferred prosecution and am so very happy that I chose Starting Point. Heather was so kind and made me feel so welcome. She was the first good thing that happened. Then I started group with… Jen! She has taught me so much about my disease. She has helped me accept the fact that I do have a disease called alcoholism. Jen is not only an amazing teacher she is an amazing person. I am doing the work to fix me because of the help I get from Jen. Thank you!

The journey of recovery is completely impossible for me in my own. Starting Point has incredibly kind, compassionate, knowledgeable staff and have gone above and beyond their call of duty to assist me during my journey.… The groups were full of support and education and the vast amount of resources have truly helped me. The payment plans made it adorable to do out-of-pocket as well. I am so blessed by the programming and counseling I have received at Starting Point.

It takes someone quite a bit to finally reach out for help, but when someone finally does they get no assistance over the phone. Receptionist didn't give 2 s**ts about the call and was very much not caring to chat or… guide in the right direction

I began Starting Point in February 2019 and after my first group meeting I stayed to introduce myself. I ended talking with De for two hours, which unknown to me at the time, probably would’ve been my last night alive… if not for her. She talked to me about everything, never judging or making me feel small. My small group was so amazing & I think of these people regularly (Shoutout my old group, hope all y’all are doing great❤️). I have been out of treatment 8 months now and am still clean and sober, in addition to that I willingly go back just to catch up and say hi. These people, both the clients and the counselors, will change your life. Long story short, if you are considering outpatient treatment (for legal or personal reasons) give them a call and talk to De for 10 minutes. I promise you won’t regret it. Good Luck & Stay Safe.

I got a DUI in July of 2020. I was sent here for 16 weeks of out patient treatment. These guys are awesome this was a horrible time for me and everyone here was awesome. My counselor De was one of the nicest on point… people and had no problem calling me out if I was trying to bullllshit her. I am very glad I had all their support.

After being cited for a DUI, I went through the 16 week class and was fortunate enough to have De Spidle as my counselor. She has a gift of seeing people and understanding their needs. She has the skill to then set an… appropriate treatment plan that uses effective resources to meet those needs. She certainly does not try and fit a square peg in a round hole and she really does have a good heart. Thanks De for all your support, wisdom and care.

I’m so grateful that I was guided to Starting Point. I transferred from another treatment center to finish up my program and Heather was great helping me through the process with ease. I am grateful to have Jenine… Hildebrand as my counselor. I thought I just needed a few more classes to finish the court’s requirements, Turns out I needed someone to show me how to live a purposeful and happy life being clean and sober. She runs a tough program, is compassionate and has a way of understanding like I’ve never experienced. I appreciate her walking with me on this incredible journey. She is the best possible counselor if you are finally ready to change your life for the better.

My name is Mj Adams and I went through the 2 year prosecution program here at starting point. Let me tell you that it is an amazing place and everyone there makes you feel like family. My counselor Jen is the most… genuine and gracious person I have ever met, I always told here she was my guardian angel. If it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t be where I am at today. She truly cares about her students and devotes personal time with each and every one of them. I highly recommend starting point without question.

Starting point is a great place for those in need of help or is struggling with alcoholism or addiction. I arrived there after deciding to go the deferred prosecution route and originally I wanted nothing more than to… go through the motions to complete that process. I found and received so much more than I expected. I was placed in Jen’s group and couldn’t have been more satisfied with the quality of services she provides. She truly has a gift for helping people. She helped me walk through so much to be able to change and better my life. I can’t say nothing but great things about this place and the people work there.

I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone for one absolute reason, Jen Hildebrand. I have struggled with addiction in one way or another my whole life, at many points in my life it defined me, or I thought it… did. This woman connected with me in a way that brought me into a different vibration! She showed me the illuminating beauty Of embracing the dark in me and bringing it into the light. I quite honestly owe so much to this woman. Not only for showing me a different way of living, but also teaching me to unconditionally love myself. I just can’t recommend her enough. If you feel lost, if you feel like every other style of treatment has been a faint disconnection for you, then I implore you to please give Jen just one chance to show you what life can really be. My life is redirected on the most beautiful path and she was my flashlight.

THIS PLACE IS GETTING NEGATIVE REVIEWS REMOVED FROM GOOGLE. All the “positive” reviews with users that have only posted 1 review, are fake. They were created after I left my review and that review is now hidden and it… shouldn’t have been . A man who had the same counselor as me (De) , his review was removed as well. I don’t believe the counselors here are professionally trained and I don’t know how this place got certified by the state. I was completely open to the program yet my counselor de’s focus was not my sobriety but to get me to quit my job (I’m an exotic dancer) . She’d ask me “are you sure you like doing that? Do you like your clients? Why would you give him your phone number ? When are you going to go to school?” She completely over stepped her boundary and violated my boundaries . Weekly , she’d ask me questions about my job not out of curiosity but out of disgust and to shame me . When I opened up to her about my Ra*e that had occurred that felt like a huge trigger for my alcoholism (before I knew about her stripper phobia) her response was extremely uneducated and damaging . “You know that wouldn’t have happened if you wouldn’t have been drinking” . That is ra*e culture , victim shaming and victim blaming and that is not okay . Thankfully I had been seeing my own private counselor who let me know I am not at fault and that she is uneducated . Oh ! And one time I saw her before class ...I was wearing a floor length dress that had a turtle neck but because I wasn’t wearing a bra she let me know I needed to change my dress before class . “there’s men in our class” were her exact words. De is an anti feminist that perpetuates ra*e culture and misogyny believing it’s her job to police grown women’s bodies. I deserved better and others do too. This was not an environment I felt comfortable in as a woman.

Starting point, and my counselor Jenny saved my life. Firm but fair - I was guided to the best life I've had in my adult life that I am living now. Jenny and Starting Point taught and imbedded in my daily life… discipline, accountability; humility and acceptance. I am grateful beyond words. If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction you're doing a disservice by not living the best life you can be. When you're ready, let the staff at Starting Point help you live your best life.

Where to begin. At one point I thought I was just coming to Starting Point (SP) to appease the courts, little did I know it would be one of the most life changing events I had yet to experience. Just like anything new,… we tend to form opinions & make assumptions based off of our first impressions & past history. I have been to a treatment facilities before, SP is nothing like the others. Private & Public treatment are in completely different categories. I spent 2 years with the folks here. Everyone was compassionate & genuinely sincere, even when I wasn’t completely upfront. I was able to get to know all of the staff, Sandy, Heather, Dee, Jeni & Dave. Each one of them was always willing to help, if I was willing to ask, whether it was the front desk, financial manager or counselors. I’ve had Jeni during my two years at SP and to say the least she is passionate about recovery & living a healthy life without any mind-altering substances, which you would expect from a drug & alcohol counselor. None of this would be doing her or her capabilities justice. I received so much more than that, because of her influence. She helped me peel back all the layers of pain, dishonesty, manipulation, selfishness, pride, resentment, people pleasing; just completely broken on the inside. Outside I looked great, but inside I was emotionally & spiritually rotting & completely distraught. I fought her tooth & nail, only giving just enough to appease her & the courts. She wouldn’t give up on me. Jeni has some of the greatest intuition that I have seen. She has this ability to sense what’s going on with you or have a teaching that would relate even though I never told her. She guided me to truly understand life isn’t about perfection but about progress. She taught me how to establish healthy boundaries & build a foundation that I can stand on & be proud of myself while living in long term recovery. Once I was willing to be open minded & I was sick of being sick & tired the world opened up & I learned how life is truly a journey not a destination. I learned how vulnerability is a great attribute. She is and will always be someone close to my recovery. Words would not describe the gratitude I have for Jeni & the team at Starting Point.

I am beyond grateful that divine intervention lead me to Starting Point. I was blessed to have Jen as my counselor. She is one amazing lady! Through one on one counseling and group therapy as well, she works with you to… design a plan for living a healthy clean and sober lifestyle. She has a kind, caring with a little bit of no BS approach. As long as you are honest open and willing to do the work and follow the suggestions, you will be given the tools you need to find a new attitude and outlook towards yourself, others and life. The rest of the staff there is great as well. I love them all!
