UVU is a great place to be

I love the small class sizes, the connection with the professors, and all the activities to build connection with other students. It's a great education at an affordable price.

Nice campus

I've been a student at UVU for a long time. I figured I'd post about the good, the bad, and the in between in hopes that it helps future students decide if UVU is a place for them. Most of my professors have been… AWESOME! They are really passionate about their subjects, and they seem to truly care about their students. I've had a couple of harder professors I wouldn't necessarily recommend, but I feel like you would probably find that at every institution. Rate My Professor is a good resource to find reviews and make decisions. Another thing I really like about this university is class sizes are normally pretty small, even for generals. I think the biggest class I ever had only had about 40 students. Most average about 20-30. I also feel like UVU has some amazing programs. I'm apart of the School of Education, and have had a wonderful experience. I've made lifelong friends, learned from amazing professors, and even got to participate in a study abroad trip. I also love that UVU is an open admissions university. I think it's so cool that this university allows anyone to be able to make their dreams come true. There are a lot of non traditional students (older students, student parents, first generation students, etc) UVU really can be a place for you, no matter who you are. I truly believe that. One disadvantage about this university is it does have a "commuter school" vibe. Lots of people come to class, and leave as soon as possible. That being said, there are lots of opportunities to make friends and get involved, but I do feel like it does take more work than some universities do. My advice: talk to people in class, come to events the university hosts, join a club if you are interested, and move to the nearby hosung instead of living at home. (If you are a traditional student.) (Places like The Green, Wolverine Crossing, Axis, Promenade Place, Summerwood, University Gateway, University Towers, Village on the Parkway, etc) I personally lived at Axis, and I felt a lot more involved in university life than I did when I lived at home. Anyway, hope this helps! If you do come to UVU, I hope you enjoy your time, the beautiful connected campus on a rainy day, and the free popcorn and pizza you can get every Wednesday!

I just graduated from UVU. I really enjoyed my time as a student here. I feel like the vast majority of the professors that I had had my best interests in mind. I'm proud to call myself a graduate of such a good… university.

Im a student there

Never studied there, but it's a pretty campus for the most part

Almost my Alma Mater. Cause I'm almost graduated. And it was almost worth it, so it turns out I was just doing this for fun. Cause I can only almost get a job with a CS degree, right now.
