Clinica CUF Guia – Albufeira

Having been to other CUF locations I wasn't overly worried about having to visit the guia clinic, however the low reviews of this place are totally justified, disinterested and unprofessional counter staff only add to… the stress of having to receive medical help, the doctor when actually seen at over an hour past the marked appointment time was very good and helpful.

Absolute disorganisation at the dental clinic, CUF GUIA. I declined an offered appointment for the 19/10/26. and rescheduled for 30/10/26. I informed them in September, 5th to be precise. I had an X-ray at the Alvor… hospital booked on the 19/10/26. After receiving multiple reminders from the dental clinic that I had a dental appointment for the 19th which I have emails to support my repeated attempts to tell them I never accepted that appointment the morning of my Xray my appointment was cancelled by the dental department at guia! How dare they cancel my hospital xray appointment which they thought was my dental appointment! It was a nightmare, eventually it was discovered by Alvor hospital that Guia dental were responsible for cancelling my hospital appointment! A dental manager should NOT have the option to unilaterally cancel a hospital appointment without patients consent especially when it is nothing to do with them. All documented in livro de reclamações. I hope they learn a lesson on how lack or correct organisation causes such a mess. It delayed my healthcare diagnosis and caused immense stress. To make matters worse my apology from the person responsible was flippant and did not really acknowledge accountability. Merely an “ oversight”! I am moving my care elsewhere. However this does not reflect on the dental doctors or surgeons who are amazing but they are not supported by effective management

Dr. Fernanda Bodenmuller da Silva was the dentist who treated me at the CUF clinic in Algarve Shopping, and I have nothing but praise for her. The cleaning and restoration treatment went beautifully. She is a fantastic… professional, extremely attentive and kind. Thank you very much!

It works well in terms of consultations, but the payment and scheduling process is chaotic; they always take more than 15 minutes to answer, and then the process takes a very long time. In terms of dental care, it's… excellent.

doctor profesional and stuff really nice

My wife broke a toe and we decide to check if they could help us. We went straight to see a doctor, next did the X-rays, which sadly confirmed it was not just a bruise but really a broken toe. We were delighted with the… service and surprised (shocking) as our mindset is private health in London. We paid something we believe it was circa 10% of the private health price, for a service that was very good and provided on arrival

Phoned twice no one answers

I don't usually leave reviews but feel I need to. Brought my 7 year old daughter (on holiday from the UK) here today with no prior appointment. She was feeling really unwell. All the staff were excellent and they looked… after her so well given they could see she wasn't well. The reception staff, nurses and the doctor were all brilliant with her and we left after a couple of hours with a diagnosis, clear instructions and a prescription. Cost was around 100 Euros which is worth every cent for the individual service and excellent care we received. Thank you to all the staff.

It used to be very good, but lately it has left much to be desired. Waiting times of over an hour and a half for an appointment, foreign doctors who barely speak Portuguese. Lack of communication regarding the results… of important tests.

Excellent service. The only problem is if they give you sick leave. The clinic doesn't comply with the law by not putting the clinic's identification sticker on the sick leave forms they issue. We go back and forth and… nothing gets resolved. They need to improve!!

Private clinic

Superbly organized, incredibly friendly, short waiting time, thorough and comprehensive examination, excellent diagnosis, and the correct prescribed medication. Our child, who had an ear infection and high fever, was… completely fine again two days after treatment. Our vacation was saved! The complaints and negative reviews don't reflect our experience at all. The price was perfectly reasonable, and it was a godsend, especially coming from a healthcare system as overwhelmed as Germany's.

The nurses at this clinic are so kind and caring. I’m Canadian and was dealing with some health issues while in Portugal and they took such great care of me. This was two years ago and I still remember how amazing the… staff were here, the receptionists even were so kind and friendly. Thank you so much to the staff at this clinic for taking such great care of me!

Super fast service, in most of the clinics you will wait even when you have booked at certain time but not here, they attended me in few minutes and specialists that I ve been to was great and trusting. Was my first… time at these clinic but definitely will come back here when needed to do any check up !

Always my first choice. He has a urologist, Dr. Rui Dinis, who is extremely competent, professional, and empathetic. He has already saved two members of my family and is currently treating two others. I recommend him.… He will be a pioneer in robotic surgery for urological cancer in the National Health Service (SNS).

Marquei uma consulta pela aplicação às 20h30 da noite do dia anterior para as 9h00 da manhã do dia seguinte e quando cheguei antes das 9h00, fiquei à espera até às 10h00, que foi exatamente a hora que o doutor chegou,… para não ser atendido. O médico não foi informado acerca da consulta e as rececionistas, não tendo a confirmação do médico, deviam ter desmarcado a consulta logo a partir das 8h30 da manhã, que foi a hora que a clínica abriu. Para piorar a situação, quando o médico é informado que eu estou à espera de uma consulta que ele não sabia, passa por mim e olha-me com desdém e chama o paciente que estava marcado para as 10h00. Obviamente eu não tenho culpa da situação e já tinha pago 100€ e esperado mais de uma hora em vão. I was informed that the doctor could see me at 3 pm, but after seeing his reaction to this situation, I felt he certainly wouldn't treat me properly. It's important to understand that in an expensive private clinic, you can't work worse than in the public health system, which is free.

I took my son to a pediatric appointment with Dr. Antonio Salgado today, and I can only express my gratitude for his kindness and friendliness. He is an excellent professional, carefully explaining the entire process… step by step, without rushing. The service for my son was five stars. The reception staff also deserve praise. Thank you HPA

While on holiday in the Algarve, The clinic welcomed me without an appointment for a general medical consultation, as I had run out of medication to complete my stay. I was seen within an hour and a half by Dr. Joanna… Fernandes, who is fantastic. Thank you.

Subject: Complaint – Lack of follow-up and urgency in pediatric treatment at HPA Guia Dear Sirs, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the care provided to my 8-year-old son, a patient at this clinic. About 1… to 2 weeks ago, my son underwent treatment for a cavity in a baby tooth. Recently, he developed a very painful abscess. I went in person to HPA Dental to try to obtain an appointment or, at least, a quick assessment that would allow for the prescription of the necessary medication, namely antibiotics, given the evident risk of the infection worsening. However, I was informed that there was no availability to see him and that the first appointment would only be available on the 29th of this month — thus forcing the child to remain in pain for several days and at risk of complications. I consider this situation regrettable and incompatible with a responsible health service, especially when dealing with a minor with an acute problem. I understand scheduling constraints, but I believe that in urgent cases there should be greater flexibility for a basic assessment and prescription of appropriate treatment. I received excellent service, the staff were very friendly, the work was well done, you can go there without hesitation; I believe it's the best clinic in the Albufeira area.

My mother went for a consultation, and after several tests, the diagnosis was COVID. The team was fantastic, and the doctor was wonderful—very kind and attentive. Thank you, Doctor Johanna!

We came July 08 2025 in emergency doctor and the Doctor is rude and. We felt hes a racist He knew we are foreigner and the first thing he asked if we can speak Portuguese language and we said no. And he told us “ you… live in portugal so you must to learn Portuguese “ with bitter smile. And he called 2 nurses for translator which is this not the main reason why we we are in emergency situations Besides its a private hospital with international clients And we were suprisse because he can speak in English too.. why he need a translator.. ? The bad thing was. About the charge of €50 without effort the doctor just only told us he cant do anything and we need to go in specialist which is. There a sense.. But to charge us 50 euro. With insurance is very much unfair. So we decided to go in Lusiadas hospital and the doctor is very knowledgeable about the condition of our daughter he gave us a medicine prescription and referral for blood analysis . And we need to come back to give the result. And we pay just € 31 and we are really satisfied and the staff are very attentive..

On the day of the blackout, I had a terrible urinary tract infection and arrived at your hospital in a panic. I was seen by Dr. Joana Gonçalves, who was simply fantastic, very kind and attentive. Since the pharmacies… were closed, I was given intravenous antibiotics and the next day I was already much better. Thank you, Doctor, I highly recommend this service.

I have visited the dentist (Ana Martíns) twice. I cannot fault the service. Ana and her assistant are very friendly, put me at ease. Explained everything she was going to do. I just had an extraction and didn't even… realise it was completed. Pain free. Thanks.
