Antioch Health Center offers outstanding healthcare services with compassionate staff, short wait times, and clean facilities. Their patient-first approach makes every visit smooth and comfortable. A trusted choice for… excellent community care!
Phone line is horrid. They put you on with an automated line that you can't even make a regular appointment on, so screw anybody who is a new patient or hasn't been with this facility before I guess. You have to go in… person just to probably wait 2 hours just to schedule or get turned away because they will only go through MyChart. Will update my review once I finally get an actual appointment scheduled.
Quite and clean
I have been going here for years and always had a pretty good experience with everyone until my doctor left and I was transferred to a new one of the name Dr. Mark Allan Smith. He is an absolutely terrible doctor, my… experience was so bad after the first vist I had to change doctors. Ive never received so much disrespect and dismissivenes from a physician before. We had a video call and when he came on he immediately looked annoyed to be there and asked me why I made this appointment. I told him how I wanted to talk and go over my medical history and that my old doctor suggested I do that. He immediately laughed and said he does things differently. For the rest of the appointment he keep minimizing what I said and laughing and even sighing. I tried to go over of my past history he simply ignore that. I tried to talk to him about the medications ive been taking and that they have been prescribed by a few different doctors. He interrupted me and told me that my psychiatrist can handle all of that. When I tried to tell him about a recent diagnosis I had gotten he told me that was something your supposed to get diagnosed as a child so he's not gonna even talk about that. I tried to discuss a condition I have had and was recently having issues with and he at first laughed and said what makes me think I have that. When it was clearly in my chart and medical history I tell him that and he said thats not something he could help me with. I asked him could he at least direct me to someone that could. He said they dont do anything to help with that and that i just need to figure it out myself. While my previous doctor was helping me with. And the doctor I transferred to she did all the things he would not and even told me of course she could help me with the same condition he refused to. I highly recommend you dont have him as your doctor because he has a clear lack of care for his patients. I have even made a a grievance about him telling them he should at lost be talked to and he lied about the encounter an gave a half ass excuse. This is not a doctor that should be there if this is the kind of care he is giving.
Terrible service. Was put on hold for over an hour, once I finally reached the line the lady on the call said “please hold” followed by “what are you in here for today” I got confused then she just sighed and put me on… hold for another 20 minutes. Then it sent me back to the automated message section, at the end waiting all that time was all for nothing, I still don’t have an appointment. Would not even bother trying to call and make an appointment would find a different way or go in-person. Not like in-person is any better anyways.
Decent enough for the basics of heath maintenance.
Literally can't get anyone to answer the phone ever. Whats the point of having a phone line if you guys won't answer. Update: after a 1 hour and 45 minutes no answer and the phone hung up the call. I would assume that… these people who are here for the people's health and well being would take more care and attentiveness to the phone for patients. This is sad to see out of any medical care system
They are very slow not enough nurses and doctors. Waited 2hrs for a lab. My appointment was at 8 didn’t get checked till 10.
We love our Drs at this address!!!!!
Older Hispanic lady in the front is always so unwelcoming and rude whenever I come in for an appointment. No acknowledgment, no hi, she just acts like you’re not there. I had a question and she was so unhelpful and… rude. I know to avoid her now, and to ask literally anyone else for help. Kind of ironic since it’s literally her job to be welcoming and answer questions.
They didn't answer me, unlike usual when I call.
Mark smith is the absolute worst doctor I have ever seen. I had two appointments with him or the course of a year. Be prepared to wait an hour to be seen, and your concerns dismissed with no explanation other than “I am… a trained licensed physician” He also documented the size of a concerned area incorrectly.
As a young African-American woman, I had a very troubling and unprofessional experience with Dr. Mark Allan Smith. During my first appointment, I felt dismissed and unheard. He barely listened to my concerns and simply… sent me on my way. Unfortunately, my health has worsened since that visit. Despite my discomfort, I gave him a second chance. Before the appointment, I told the nurse I preferred to see a different doctor, but Dr. Smith still came in. His demeanor was immediately aggressive—he didn’t greet or acknowledge me. I had to initiate the conversation. When I tried to explain my concerns, he cut me off and accused me of refusing his help. Before I could finish speaking, he raised his voice and shouted, “DO YOU WANT MY HELP WITH ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION OR NOT?” I was stunned. I came seeking help for my mental health, and instead I was met with hostility. He even laughed at my problems, which was deeply hurtful and unprofessional. At this point, I no longer feel safe having him as my doctor or having him prescribe me anything. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Dr. Smith to anyone—especially if you are African-American or a woman. His behavior was inappropriate, dismissive, and entirely unacceptable for a healthcare provider.
Nice
Best place to be
One of the worst health centers in california, they'll cancel your appointment at the last minute. I have never seen a health center that cancels your appointment when u get to it
Antioch Health Center isn’t what it used to be when they first opened pre COVID. Now you have to wait an hour even if you’re on time, pre checked in and confirmed via text. When you do arrive, the front office staff… will just let you stand there until a line starts to form. Then- they will call everyone who came in after you before you. After waiting an hour to establish care with my PCP, The nurse had to keep rechecking my blood pressure because she was measuring it by my elbow. When my doctor finely came in, she rushed through my visit in 5 minutes and then ran out of the door. They just love to waist people’s time here
Great, see you Fri 11:00am. Thanks for your support team. My visit was because of a wound on my knee my shin started to turn red. Since I have been taking my pills Keflex and Bactrim big difference redness going away… knee healing up.
Good service and professionalism
The worst health center you can ever deal with, they don't know what they are doing
I have always had a pleasant experience with my doctor, Anita. She is a sweetheart...very professional...and takes all the time to attend to me.
Avoid Dr. Mariam Hasan and Marina Vanegas. Both are unprofessional and do not know what they are doing.
I had an online appointment with Dr. Mariam Hasan and she did not know how to use zoom and I had wait for 1 hour without any response. Marina Vanegas, CMA was unprofessional and did not know what she was doing. Avoid… this place.
