About Logan House – Chambers Flat

Logan House is a live-in alcohol and other drug treatment centre run by Lives Lived Well on rural land at Chambers Flat, midway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. It takes adults aged 18 and over, works in six-week cycles that can stretch to around three months, and needs no referral.

The approach is harm-minimisation focused and education-based, built on individual counselling and learning within the community of the house. Adults on stabilised opioid replacement therapy can be accepted. After the main programme, transitional accommodation and free community counselling continue the support. The campus also runs Logan Family Recovery, self-contained units where a parent can bring up to two children aged nine and under for the duration of treatment. Self-referral is by phone on 1300 727 957 or online, with the pre-treatment team making contact within two to three business days to arrange assessment.

Logan House Alcohol and Drug Services

Logan House offers live-in rehabilitation, transitional housing for graduates and free community counselling as aftercare. Programmes run in six-week cycles and can extend to roughly three months, using individual counselling and relapse prevention within an education-based, harm-minimisation model for adults using alcohol or multiple substances.

A family programme sets Logan House apart: Logan Family Recovery provides self-contained units on the same site, so a parent can keep up to two children aged nine and under with them through treatment. Anyone stabilised on opioid replacement therapy can be considered. On-site medical staff, group therapy and formal assessment testing are not listed for the centre, so put clinical questions to the pre-treatment team.

How Much Does Treatment at Logan House Cost?

Entry to Logan House is set at an upfront A$2,000 for adults funding their own treatment, covering a six-week cycle. Anyone on Centrelink payments instead contributes about 85% of each fortnightly benefit, together with the upfront admission fee, which keeps the programme reachable on a low income.

Community counselling after the programme is listed as free. Transitional accommodation for graduates is part of the continuing support rather than something priced, so ask the pre-treatment team what living in those houses involves. Private health insurance, NDIS and WorkCover are not listed for Logan House. Where a stay runs past six weeks towards three months, check how the Centrelink contribution carries over.

Logan House Reviews

Reviews of Logan House from around the web are limited, which is common for rural treatment centres run by a large charity. RehabSeekers hosts reviews for Logan House, and adults who have completed a cycle at Chambers Flat, or parents who used the family units, are welcome to share their experience.

Online comment about Lives Lived Well usually covers the charity broadly rather than this one site. For someone weighing up Logan House, the useful detail is first-hand: what the daily routine on the property felt like, how counselling and community learning fitted together, whether the family units worked for a parent with young children, and how the move into transitional housing went.

I can’t praise Logan House enough. You get what you put in. While other rehabs have 3 month programs,Logan has 6 weeks. Well that was my review 12 months ago. Unfortunately I relapsed and have found the new… administration staff horrible to the point. I want even attempt to go back again.

Wouldn't waste your time or effort on this rehab unless you are desperate and waiting for a spot somewhere else. Constant drama with the set up of the facility and the dynamics of the place makes it a nightmare.… Classess are mostly useless and way to short. Pretty much a facility to not use or drink if your serious and alot of people use and drink while their there anyway just to tick off legal problems. Not a safe or therapeutic environment at all unfortunately. If your serious about recovery I would recommend researching different rehabs.

Hi I’m Michael and Logan rehabilitation centre has changed my life forever all in the most important and positive ways it’s a place of healing and peace and the staff make you feel supported and are very helpful in the… needs I was having trouble coping with I came into lives lived well Logan house with a addition for drugs and alcohol and cigarettes and now I’m free from those problems I successfully completed six weeks in Logan house and then successfully completed the 12 week LFR program with my baby boy axle who’s 16 months old now and the parenting program The circle of security in total 18 weeks in Logan rehab I now feel strong enough to be in the Community safe and sound without addictions and drug abuse habits and the bond I have with my son axle is so much stronger now than ever before I’ve also attended Bible study with King’s church, which is right next door. I am baptised 3 August 2025, and I follow a new Christianity of religion. A new way of life all because of Logan house THANK YOU SO MUCH for your service and support

I can’t recommend Logan House enough. The staff are compassionate, professional, and truly committed to helping you heal and grow. The program gave me the tools, support, and guidance I needed to work on myself in a… safe and structured environment. Every session, every conversation, and every activity felt purposeful and caring. I left feeling stronger, more confident, and proud of the progress I’ve made. If you’re ready to make positive changes in your life, Logan House is a place that will support you every step of the way.

I completed three months at Logan Family Recovery with my son who is under 12 Months. The location is peaceful - the family units have a beautiful window that brings you to slow down mentally and relax. Find inner peace… and forgiveness. The units are large and once settled - bring a sense of ‘home’ with all the amenities you need. You’ll notice this after you come back from your first overnight leave! The “ahhh, home” feeling. The staff are helpful, friendly and kind. They do their job and in the early days it’s easy to get frustrated at times as no one likes to feel “monitored” or told what not to do - but this is all part of us getting better. I am thankful for everyone who helped me at LFR and who I got to meet at the weekly/daily classes. This includes the nurses, office staff, after hours team, kitchen staff and other residents I got to meet helping out with kitchen crew. Big THANK-YOU 🥰

I had the privilege to be apart of the Logan Family Recovery Unit. I was able to take my 10year old daughter with me. I checked her into Logan village state school (which is a wonderful school). They supported me with… lifts to and from school and anything I needed for my daughter. I have just recently finished 3months there and it's changed my life completely. The treat facilitators there are fantastic and caught my every down fall. It wasnt easy at first but good support is what u need and they delivered. I would highly recommend either Logan Family units or Logan House itself. I would have lost my all if I didn't decided to make a change. Thanks LFR x

Logan house is a great rehabilitation for drugs alcohol and gambling. I did my 6 week program and i am so pleased with the service I have received. There are 3 villas each has 4 bedrooms (3 beds in each) 2 toilets, 3… bathrooms, a lounge sitting area, table and a laundry. 5 air-conditionings in total of each villa. Movie room which has a massive selection of DVDs books and cloths if you need or out grown the ones you bring in. Pool table, ping pong table a swiming pool that is half salt treatment. During the week you have sign in at 9am, 4pm 7:30pm. 10am and 1:30 pm group is filled with learning strategies with mental health, drugs, alcohol and gambling. Treatment facilitators are great for supporting every aspect in your stay. Office staff are all so great for a chat about problems as well. After hours staff with a normally on during weekdays public days and weekends are also supportive. Logan house residents are also really supportive and made me feel like one big family (which I will miss this) Logan house staff are amazing keeping this space a drug and alcohol free zone and I felt safe 💯 to my soberity and continued to be clear of drugs being 13 weeks clean.

Throughout my 12 weeks at Logan family recovery I learnt so much about addiction and recovery and was blessed to be able to have my 2 year old son with me the whole time through out my program, the units are very modern… , spacious and air-conditioned, it honestly felt like home. The staff were very helpful and my needs were met with 1 on 1 counselling sessions. The rehab is located in a quiet relaxing location and very peaceful. If ever I needed to come back again I would definitely recommend this place and come back here. The staff had great interactions with my child and bonded with him well. The general program itself was good and easy to understand as well as the staff delivering the classes.

Joining Lives Lived Well Family Recovery has been one of the most life-changing experiences for me and my son. Over the four months I spent in the program, I gained so much valuable knowledge, skills, and tools that… I’ve been able to apply in my daily life. The program truly delivers on its promise to equip participants with practical strategies to navigate real-world challenges with confidence. What stood out the most was how supportive and welcoming the environment was. I made so many meaningful connections with other mothers, their children, and the incredible staff. The sense of community and understanding made me feel less alone during one of the hardest times of my life. The program wasn’t just about recovery; it was about healing, learning, and growing both as an individual and as a parent. The opportunity to recover and grow alongside my child has been the most rewarding part of this journey. I never thought I’d be able to focus on my recovery while also being there for my son, but Lives Lived Well made it possible. The balance they provided between care for my needs and my role as a parent was exceptional. The staff at Lives Lived Well are truly dedicated, compassionate, and knowledgeable. They went above and beyond to support me and help me achieve my goals. I want to give a heartfelt thank you to Kirsten, whose wisdom, patience, and guidance helped me become the person I am today. Your support meant the world to me. Also a special shoutout also goes to Tennylle, who is one of the most caring, genuine, and passionate individuals I’ve ever met. Your creative strategies, uplifting energy, and determination to bring out the best in everyone made such a huge impact on my life and the lives of others in the program. While in the program, I achieved milestones I never thought possible. I was able to get my Aboriginal identity recognized, pay off some fines, secure support letters for housing, and establish boundaries, routines, and a budgeting system that works for me. Thanks to the dedicated staff and their support, I was able to graduate from the program and move into temporary housing as I await permanent accommodation. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Lives Lived Well community. I walked away from this experience feeling like the best version of myself, not just for me, but for my son. I highly recommend this program to any family seeking a transformative, supportive, and practical approach to recovery. The memories, friendships, and skills I gained will stay with me forever. Thank you to everyone at Lives Lived Well for your compassion, dedication, and belief in me. You have truly made a difference in our lives, and I’ll always carry the lessons I learned with me.

This place has its good and bad moments depending on which staff member you deal with for your current issue at the time I have been here almost 18 weeks & while I have had alot of challenges along the way I have learnt… to over come them in a healthy way I give the biggest shout out to tenylle an Emmanuel for always offering support that's in my best interest tenylle brings so much care ,joy, happiness & laughter to LFR and that I don't believe the place would be the same without her she is always prepared to do some activity on the weekends which are kid friendly n strengthening our connections to our kids, Emmanuel is caring supportive has great listening skills n is always there to help out when things are tough kisten is amazing but as for the other LFR staff not much to say at all. I love Andy, Maddie, Nikita Emily n Wendys groups that's where my growth has really began I give the program a 10 outta 10 as it's mental health n deep self reflection n recovery based groups gave proven to work for me

Review: Logan House Family Recovery I spent six months at Logan House Family Recovery, fully immersing myself in an intensive program with the hope of making meaningful progress in my life. While I gave 100% effort… during my time there, the experience was riddled with challenges, setbacks, and moments that left me questioning the foundation of the program itself. The program was undeniably extensive, requiring significant commitment and effort. I faced numerous personal and situational obstacles, which I expected as part of the recovery journey. However, many of the challenges stemmed not from personal growth struggles but from what felt like a lack of structure and clarity in the program’s approach. There were instances of inconsistent guidance, illogical decision-making, and a lack of accountability that made the process more frustrating than productive. What stood out the most were the questionable dynamics within the relationships between staff and participants. Certain interactions felt unprofessional, and boundaries were often blurred, which created unnecessary confusion and tension. Instead of fostering a safe, supportive environment, this often left me feeling unsupported and uncertain about where I stood. Despite putting in my best effort and working hard to push through these difficulties, I walked away from Logan House feeling disappointed. While I take pride in the personal work I put into the program, the overall experience didn’t meet the standards I had hoped for in terms of support, structure, and professionalism. For those considering Logan House, my advice would be to approach it with clear expectations and to advocate for yourself throughout the process. While the potential for growth exists, the lack of consistency and the questionable relational dynamics may hinder the journey. Lastly I would just like to say Tenylle and Emmanuel are exceptional support workers at LFR. During my six-month stay, their dedication and compassion made a significant impact on my experience. Tenylle is star! Her uplifting energy and understanding nature fostered trust and opened communication. She consistently recognized potential in others and offered encouraging words ALWAYS. Emmanuel demonstrated reliability and patience, creating a stable environment. His willingness to assist at all times and help with my son reflected his genuine care for everyone's well-being. They are invaluable assets to LFR, and their contributions deserve recognition.

would not waste your money. Worst place ever. Staff have favourites and if you r not their favourite then don't expect them to help u. I don't like how rude the are. I put in an extension got told no. But I was… following every rule in the book. And did extra work functions. And everything but still got told no. But someone else that had warning after warings. Still got approved to stay longer than 6 weeks. even though they advertise they help with mental health. they don't. It's just the worse place ever and I don’t recommend

I wanted to write this review as before I went into logan house I had no idea what I was walking into. Located on a gorgeous rural property, it is the perfect place with a balance of programs/life skill rebuilding and… tranquility that facilitates recovery. With a gym, pool, tv room, art room, pool table room, ping pong, tennis/basketball courts, there is plenty to do around groups. There is also a fully functioning kitchen that you can volunteer to work in, cooking for the other residents which helps to relearn cooking and time management skills. The staff are down to earth, supportive and patient, some with lived experience which is inspiring and makes a real difference. Some examples of the programs are breaking down the mental health side of addiction and how to understand your emotions. I would recommend Logan house to anyone who is dedicated to their journey of sobriety and recovery. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to spend 3 months here. Life changing!

I spent 12 weeks here. The routine and being prevented from accessing alcohol helped, but there was no preparation for the outside world. The sessions they run were all rote and basic: nutrition, healthy exercise; but… nothing to help me deal with the outside world. I ran through the same modules multiple times, but everything was something I could have found on a YouTube video. Very basic one-on-one time, epically given how understaffed they were. And forget about any post care, the best they could offer is weekly sessions that go through the exact same modules you went through in rehab. Some staff were amazing, most were not. I actually regret going here as it wasted three months of my life that affected my familial relationships yet they did not give me anything to deal with life o. The outside. It’s telling that everyone. Have remained in contact with has relapsed.
