How Much Does Treatment at Psihijatrijska bolnica Sveti Ivan Cost?
As a general psychiatric hospital rather than a dedicated addiction residential centre, the market figures for inpatient care in the Zagreb area — roughly €5,800 to €16,000 (£5,000–£14,000) for residential-type care — are included here as broader context rather than a like-for-like guide to this hospital’s charges. Being a public institution, treatment may also be reachable through Croatia’s national health system at no direct cost to residents, with access usually depending on referral and residency.

If you, a family member, or a colleague in healthcare have direct experience of Psihijatrijska bolnica Sveti Ivan, sharing a review helps other families understand what to expect.
Beyond reviews, it’s worth checking the hospital’s oversight by the Ministarstvo zdravstva (Ministry of Health), the scope of its clinical units, and how staffing is organised across departments. A useful question to ask directly is what its addiction-treatment unit actually offers and how referral into it works.
Dr: Do you have any fears? Me: No Dr: Are you psychotic? Me: No Dr: Okay, you're not psychotic I can see why you need to spend years studying at Medical School Also, I would like to personally deliver this picture book… to all the workers in the women's ward
I would like to commend the entire hospital staff for their professionalism, kindness and human approach. From the moment I arrived, I felt safe and cared for. The doctors and nurses were friendly. I would like to… especially thank the staff for their understanding, patience and warm attitude towards patients. Such an approach means a lot, especially in difficult times. All praise and sincere recommendation!

First of all, all praise to my psychiatrist, but I have to tell you all the truth, which is that I came to the closed ward by taxi 5 times in the hope that my therapy would be corrected by prescribing me the old… therapy. Old therapy: Cymbalta 60mg, Normabell 5mg, Helex 2 mg, Analgin 500mg, Risset 1mg. I suffer from non-organic psychosis and f60. When I entered the clinic, the technicians tied me to the bed (I was calm, so I didn't show any signs of aggression.) By the way, I forgot to write that I am a wheelchair user. I have both lower legs amputated. Also, during my fifth hospitalization, I was beaten up by an aggressive patient. The hospital did not call the police and during each hospitalization, my cell phone was banned.
A madhouse, not a psychiatry clinic, Karlo the technician king
I like that there is no waiting. The hospital is clean and the staff is friendly. My psychiatrist is excellent, professional, patient and kind and I don't feel like I'm just a number. She takes the time for me as much… as necessary and helps me a lot. Dr. Antonija Slaviček Sučić - specialist psychiatrist.
In this hospital, a lot depends on the experience and the people you encounter. I am not inclined to write negative reviews, so I want to dedicate this one to the staff, whom I sincerely want to praise and thank for… their effort, expertise, and humanity. I would especially like to praise mag. nutr. Maja Žanko, who approaches each patient very gently, patiently, and without judgment, and slowly guides them towards recovery and a healthier relationship with themselves and food. I would also like to highlight prof. soc. ped. Vedrana Puhar Kučinar, who led group workshops on social skills and addictions in a very creative, educational, and well-prepared way. It is obvious how much effort she puts into her work, and I find the workshops extremely useful and valuable. I would also like to give great praise to the staff of the internist's clinic — internal medicine specialist Dr. Nikolina Tolj and nurse Marija. Their warm, calm, and human approach immediately creates a sense of security and trust. I am currently undergoing treatment with Dr. Tolj, and I consider her to be extremely professional, responsible, and dedicated to her patients. She approaches problems thoroughly and sees the bigger picture of the health condition, and along with professionalism, she also shows a great deal of understanding and patience. Through her approach, she managed to give me back some of my motivation, hope, and faith that with knowledge, effort, and support, things can get better. Thank you for representing the best in healthcare with your work and for restoring a sense of trust and humanity to patients.

Ok
A terrible experience for me!...from the nurses, technicians, the worst food I've ever tasted and the worst psychiatrist, Dr. Katarina Matic! And not to mention that men go and follow naked women in the bathrooms and I… was horrified as soon as I saw this And also the unkind nurses and technicians and the closed ward number 1 because I felt isolated and lonely I have never been
I was lying in ward 4. Very cold staff from Dr. Šitum to Dr. Gudelj. I understand that there has to be some distance, but my impression is that they look at us as second-class citizens. Not a single smile, not a kind… word. That doesn't exist with them. Mostly horror.
Experiences with this hospital vary, it all depends on who you "run into"... there are wonderful medical staff, but unfortunately there are also those who really spoil the reputation of this hospital. As I am a person… who does not like to criticize but rather to praise... I will take this opportunity to praise Prof. Vladimir Grošić who saved the life of my son who had a bacterial infection and a temperature over 39°C during his weekend duty... he had his blood drawn, antibiotics and an infusion with vitamins, which caused my son's temperature to drop. The doctor was really professional and kind and really deserves recognition for his work. It is precisely because of him that I am giving this rating.
Dear Sirs, I would like to take this opportunity to praise the primarius Ante Orešković, a very good man and a helpful person, in the context he will do his best to help every patient. He is a little strict at times but… believe me there is a reason for that, you just have to listen to him and he will lead you on the right path. Personally I wish the primarius all the best in life, also to his family.😇🙏🏻 Btw he saved a lot of lives. He has all the praise from me.
I stayed at this clinic three years ago because I felt terribly bad after being prescribed an antidepressant. I came to the emergency room alone and agreed to go to the closed ward where I spent the weekend. As soon as… I stopped taking the prescribed Sertalin, I felt much better, but I had to wait until Monday to be moved to ward nine, one of the open wards. After the visit, I was prescribed a new antidepressant, a week later a second one, a week later a third one, and so on until I was discharged. Nothing helped me. The staff did everything they could, but I didn't have any problem worth discussing, nothing bothered me, I just felt mentally and physically unwell beyond recognition. I also had arrhythmias and I am truly grateful that they took me seriously and sent me to an internal medicine specialist several times. I was discharged because I realized that my problem was something else after all and not purely a psychological one. After a few more months of torture, a hormonally active tumor on the pituitary gland was discovered, which was quickly removed by surgery, and since then I have had no more problems. In this way, I would like to thank my doctor at the time, Dr. Prga-Bajic, Dr. Grah, Dr. Paun, and others whose names I do not remember, the waitress who gave me double the salad and tea, and the maid who managed to trim the dry plants on the terrace. I think you are doing a good job and I believe that if you could not specifically help me, I know that many patients arrived in a terrible condition and left as functional persons. Thanks.
1️⃣ Don't call more than twice in a row. If someone doesn't answer, it means they can't or don't want to. Respect that. In most cases, they don't want to. That says more about the doctors than the patients 2️⃣ Return… borrowed money before someone reminds you. The same goes for umbrellas, pens, or food containers. It's a matter of honesty. 3️⃣ When someone invites you to lunch, don't order the most expensive dish. Gratitude is worth more than luxury. 4️⃣ Stop asking awkward questions like: "What about the boyfriend?", "What about the kids?", "What about the house?". It's not your life, so it's not your problem. 5️⃣ Always open the door for the person walking behind you. It's just culture. 6️⃣ If your friend pays for the taxi today, you pay next time. In relationships, balance counts, not exploitation. 7️⃣ Respect other people's opinions. What's a "6" to you may be a "9" to someone else. 8️⃣ Don't interrupt. Listen. Silence teaches more than talking. 9️⃣ If you tell a joke and no one laughs – give up. Awkward silence is also an answer. 🔟 “Thank you” is never too much. Use it often. 1️⃣1️⃣ Praise publicly, correct privately. 1️⃣2️⃣ Don’t comment on someone else’s weight. Simply say: “You’re beautiful!”. And that’s enough. 1️⃣3️⃣ When someone shows you a picture on their phone, don’t scroll any further. You never know what’s hiding there. 1️⃣4️⃣ When someone goes to the doctor, don’t ask: “What’s wrong with you?”. Instead, say: “I hope everything is okay.” Respect privacy. 1️⃣5️⃣ Treat the janitor the same as you would the principal. The greatness of a man is measured by how he treats those who don’t owe him anything. 1️⃣6️⃣ If someone is talking to you, put down your phone. Staring at the screen is a sign of disrespect. 1️⃣7️⃣ Don't give advice if no one has asked you. No one listens to unwanted preaching. 1️⃣8️⃣ When you meet someone after a long time, don't ask about their age or salary. Ask how they are feeling. That's the most important thing. 1️⃣9️⃣ Mind your own business. Other people's problems don't always need your interference. 2️⃣0️⃣ Take off your sunglasses when talking to someone on the street. Respect is visible in the eyes. 2️⃣1️⃣ Don't brag about your wealth in front of the poor or your children in front of those who can't have them
After an extremely unpleasant experience in the psychiatric ward in Pula, Jankomir Hospital comes as a hotel. The doctors and technicians are extremely kind, always available by phone and in person if you come to visit.… They reborn the patient within 7 days. They cooperate with the family and do not "curse" the patients unnecessarily, in fact they work on them being active and leaving the hospital in their best form. Please appeal to the state to invest in this hospital so that as many Croats as possible have adequate care during episodes of their illnesses! Many thanks from Pula!
My experience at this clinic was absolutely horrific and life-threatening. During my hospitalization, I was physically assaulted by a medical technician who attempted to strangle me. I left the facility with severe head… injuries and trauma that will last a lifetime. It is unacceptable that such brutal violence occurs in a facility that is supposed to provide care. The staff that is supposed to protect us are directly endangering the lives of patients. The case has been reported to the relevant authorities and I do not recommend anyone rely on the safety of this clinic.
Get out of here, that's all I can say.
Crazy corruption. No room for patients, disaster. Most of the workers are jerks. Sparrows are worse than this 999% more. But now this hospital is miserable
Dr. Oreskovic has no heart or mercy for his patients. The trauma he can inflict on you is even greater than before you came to the hospital.
I was seen by a wonderful young doctor and in general both the nurse and the paramedic at the reception were very nice... Thank you to them...
They take immense care of their patients, and provide the maximum reach of medicine.
Very correct and professional staff, doctors and assistants of the department, whether it is in the closed part or the open. All praise to the doctors and of course the acting head of the hospital.
The staff is absolutely horrible, rudeness at its worst. I wonder how this is even a medical facility. The staff shout and argue with each other, with the patients' families, and even with the patients themselves. A… living disgrace to the people who are here to help others.
