About Rockingham AOD Services – Cooloongup

Rockingham AOD Services is a non-residential alcohol and other drug support service run by The Salvation Army at Cooloongup, south of Perth, for adults wanting to address problematic substance use. Case management, counselling, group work, outreach and referral to other services make up the offering.

The service runs on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings only, so availability is narrow. Referrals are made by email to the team at Cooloongup, and no phone number is published for the site. Because outreach is part of the model, a worker may be able to meet someone away from the office, which matters where transport is the obstacle.

Rockingham AOD Services Counselling Services

Counselling and outreach are the two levels of care listed for Rockingham AOD Services. The Salvation Army team at Cooloongup provides case management, individual counselling and group work, plus referral into other services where someone needs a level of care this office does not run.

Substances treated, medications, assessment arrangements and aftercare are not listed for this service, and no withdrawal management or rehabilitation is described. Support is aimed at adults, with case management holding the pieces together between counselling appointments and outreach visits. The team can say whether group work is running in a given week.

How Much Does Treatment at Rockingham AOD Services Cost?

Published prices for Rockingham AOD Services weren’t found. The Salvation Army sets out no fee schedule for the Cooloongup office, and no funding arrangement, rebate or private pay rate is stated for the counselling and outreach work, so typical outpatient costs are the only general guide: A$150 to A$300 a session.

Contact the team by email for pricing tailored to your needs. Salvation Army community alcohol and drug services are commonly funded to be free or low cost to the client, so ask plainly what, if anything, you would be charged for counselling, group work and outreach visits before committing to a first appointment.

Rockingham AOD Services Reviews

Reviews of Rockingham AOD Services from around the web are limited, which is understandable for a part-week office with no published phone number. RehabSeekers hosts reviews for this service, and adults who have worked with the Cooloongup team are welcome to share their experience of the counselling and outreach.

Online feedback naming The Salvation Army tends to describe its wider community work rather than this alcohol and drug team. For anyone in Rockingham weighing it up, practical detail would help most: how long the email referral took to answer, whether sessions fell on workable mornings, and how useful the outreach option proved.

The staff are wonderful, however parking for the disabled hasn't been taken into account, I couldn't find parking closer than 100Mtrs from the door. On the topic of the door, it's not a light door and it would present a… genuine problem for wheelchair users. 100% to the staff, 10% for the location.

To the amazing Ben the Smart Group Facilitator who keeps all inspired and in high hopes for an amazing future in the community. The caring and compassionate Sam who shows empathy when listening for intake. The wonderful… Nicole who attends to all who walk through the door and attends to all the phone enquiries. Plus last but not least - George (past Counsellor) you are an amazing human being, I hope I cross paths with you again my friend x 🙏🏼❤️‍🩹
