About DASSA Northern Metro
DASSA Northern Metro is the Drug and Alcohol Services (SA) outpatient clinic for Adelaide’s northern suburbs, based at Elizabeth. The clinic provides free, confidential assessment and treatment for individuals with severe or complex alcohol or other drug problems, with referral coming through a GP or the statewide phone line.
Opioid pharmacotherapy, assessment and referral, withdrawal management and counselling all appear on the clinic’s service list. Unlike some other sites in the service, this one asks for a referral: a GP can make it, or you can ring 1300 131 340 to begin. The clinic itself answers on (08) 7485 4600 during weekday office hours.

DASSA Northern Metro Alcohol and Drug Services
Opioid pharmacotherapy, assessment and referral, withdrawal management and counselling are the services DASSA Northern Metro lists at Elizabeth, where medication assisted treatment of opioid dependence is provided. The clinic is non-residential, and the setting for withdrawal management is not listed, so an assessment decides how that stage is delivered.
Counselling is open to all audiences, with no particular group singled out in what the clinic lists. Named therapies, additional medications, support services and accreditation details do not appear for this site, so the assessment appointment is where the team explains what the northern clinic can and cannot provide, and which other parts of the service might pick up the rest.

How Much Does Treatment at DASSA Northern Metro Cost?
No cost falls to clients at DASSA Northern Metro. The Elizabeth clinic states that treatment is free, with Drug and Alcohol Services (SA) funding assessment, medication assisted treatment of opioid dependence, withdrawal management and counselling as part of the South Australian public health system.
No private pay rate, insurance arrangement or concession scale is listed for the clinic. DASSA Northern Metro Reviews
Reviews of DASSA Northern Metro from around the web are limited, which is the norm for a publicly funded outpatient clinic rather than a reflection of the care given at Elizabeth. RehabSeekers hosts reviews for the clinic, and anyone who has attended Langford Drive is welcome to share their experience.
Because this clinic shares its name with several other outpatient sites across South Australia, online comment about one is easily read as being about another. Saying which site you attended, how long the referral took to turn into an appointment and what the counselling or pharmacotherapy involved would make a review genuinely useful to someone in the northern suburbs.
Great place when in desperate need of help. Although they had made some admin errors in my appointment times, the staff, including admin, nursing, support and docs took the time to thoroughly assess my situation and… acted professionally and with empathy. They efficiently organised and immediate solution for my withdrawals and a plan moving forward. Little things like offering cold bottles of water on a 40+ degree day to everyone waiting and after consult goes a long way.
One star organisation. See you off the street one day then won't see you for 5 days when in need. 5 minutes is all it would have taken.
Will be clean and sober for 5 years in July, and I can safely assume I will never drink again. Started treatment at DASSA Elizebeth in July 2019, and ceased in March last year. Had several different treating doctors,… however, it was the resident psychologist at DASSA Elizabeth, that really helped me ensure I will stay on the sober path. She really helped me process my horrendous childhood and helped me understand what I went through. If you suffer addiction due to trauma DASSA can really help.
Useless
Absolutely bull I've been trying to get help 4 weeks I've waited for my appointment just for it to be cancelled on my an hour before it and now back where I started people looking for help just don't get any
