About The Glen
The Glen is a 40-bed residential rehabilitation centre for men at Chittaway Point on the New South Wales Central Coast, established in 1994 and run by the Ngaimpe Aboriginal Corporation. The culturally safe programme runs twelve weeks and takes Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men over eighteen.
The organisation also operates The Glen for Women at Wyong Creek, with twenty beds. A Navigator programme supports men while they wait for a place, and a transition programme works on education, employment, finances and housing towards the end of a stay. Family support and post-treatment outreach continue afterwards. The office opens 8am to 3pm Monday to Friday on (02) 4388 6360, with more at http://www.theglencentre.org.au/.

The Glen Alcohol and Drug Services
The Glen provides three levels of care: twelve weeks of residential rehabilitation for men at Chittaway Point, outreach after treatment, and aftercare. The centre holds forty beds, and a separate women’s service at Wyong Creek adds twenty more, both delivered as culturally safe programmes by an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation.
Alongside the core twelve weeks, the Navigator programme keeps in contact with men waiting for admission, and the transition programme works through education, employment, finances and housing before a man leaves. Family support is part of the model, and outreach continues after treatment. Named therapies, medications and assessment arrangements are not stated, so ask staff how entry is assessed.

Where Is The Glen?
The Glen occupies a site at Chittaway Point, on the shore of Tuggerah Lake on the New South Wales Central Coast. A street address and postcode are not published for the centre, so the office should be asked for the exact arrival point. The women’s service sits separately at Wyong Creek.
The office opens 8am to 3pm Monday to Friday and can be reached on (02) 4388 6360, with intake information at http://www.theglencentre.org.au/. Men travel to the Central Coast from across New South Wales, and the Navigator programme supports those waiting, so check where you are in the queue before travelling.

How Much Does Treatment at The Glen Cost?
Treatment at The Glen is free. The twelve-week residential programme is funded through NSW Health and delivered by the Ngaimpe Aboriginal Corporation, so a man accepted at Chittaway Point is not charged for his bed, his meals or the programme, and the transition and outreach support carries no fee either.
No private pay rate is stated for the centre, and private health insurance is not needed. Medicare, NDIS and WorkCover arrangements are not stated. Travel to the Central Coast and personal items for twelve weeks away are the practical costs, and the office can say what is supplied on arrival.

The Glen Reviews
The Glen is well regarded in public comment from around the web, where the Chittaway Point programme is often praised for its cultural grounding and for the way staff stay in touch with men after treatment. RehabSeekers hosts reviews for the centre, and former residents are welcome to add their own.
Much of the online commentary describes the organisation and its advocacy work rather than daily life on the twelve weeks. Accounts of how the Navigator programme felt during the wait, what the transition work involved and how outreach worked afterwards would be especially useful to men and families weighing up a stay.
The Glen honestly changed my life. When I first went there, I was in a really bad place. In and out of prison, lost custody of my kids, lost my business and my family, and I had lost myself. I had a lot of shit going on… and a lot of trauma that I had never properly dealt with. I knew I needed help, but honestly, I didn’t really know how to change my life. The three months I spent at The Glen gave me the time and space to actually work on myself. I learnt so much about my addiction, my behaviours and the reasons behind a lot of the things I had been doing. The staff were amazing. There were definitely days where I was frustrated, emotional or just wanted to give up, but there were people there who kept pushing me and reminding me why I was there. I met some amazing people while I was there and I’ll always be grateful for the friendships and memories I made. It’s now been 4 months since I finished rehab and I’m still clean. ❤️ I’m back in my children’s lives, I have my own apartment, I’m working full time and I’m actually rebuilding a life that I’m proud of. I’m not going to say everything magically became easy when I walked out the doors, because it didn’t. Real life is hard and staying clean and rebuilding your life takes work every single day. But The Glen gave me tools that I still use today and gave me a chance to actually start changing my life. Bloody so grateful I got the opportunity to go to The Glen for women. Four months out, I’m clean, I’m working, I have my own place, I’m rebuilding my relationship with my kids and I’m finally looking forward to my future. I walked into The Glen not really knowing if I could change. I walked out believing I could. ❤️
What a blessing is The Glen! Its program has structure, rules, lots of love, great food, a beautiful environment and inspiring mentors. A great place to embrace a new life in recovery. Beats the same old, same old,… going nowhere of addiction.. 👋🏾❤️🩹
