About Comunidade Terapêutica da Rinchoa
Comunidade Terapêutica da Rinchoa in Mem Martins, Sintra, is the third-phase house of the Ares do Pinhal therapeutic community, an association founded in 1986 by a group of psychiatrists. Adults who have completed the first two phases in Mação spend five to seven months here preparing their return to work and society, and the same address houses a reintegration apartment.
The reintegration phase works on social skills and employment, with the stated aim that every resident leaves with their work situation settled. Entry to the Ares do Pinhal programme as a whole is proposed by a public treatment team therapist or an accredited institution, with a written application letter, prior therapeutic follow-up, a medical assessment and acceptance of the house rules; the programme is open to adults over 18 of both sexes with licit or illicit substance dependence, including those on opioid substitution treatment. Residents are supported by psychiatrists, a general practitioner, nurses, psychologists and social workers, and after Rinchoa may move to reintegration apartments here or in Caxias and transition apartments in Lisbon.

Comunidade Terapêutica da Rinchoa Alcohol and Drug Services
Comunidade Terapêutica da Rinchoa delivers the final residential phase of the Ares do Pinhal programme for adults recovering from dependence on alcohol, opioids and other psychoactive substances, after two to four months of stabilisation and five to seven months of treatment in the association’s Mação houses. The focus is reintegration: social skills, employment and a return to independent living.
Individuals on an opioid substitution programme can be part of the community, and the therapeutic stance is one of help and encouragement of inner change rather than correction and control of outward behaviour. The reintegration apartment at the same address offers a supported step between the community and a home of one’s own, with a second apartment in Caxias and transition apartments in Lisbon. Ares do Pinhal also runs a low-threshold methadone programme with mobile units, an integrated support service for individuals using drugs in public spaces and health support at the Lisbon municipal emergency shelter.

How Much Does Treatment at Comunidade Terapêutica da Rinchoa Cost?
Comunidade Terapêutica da Rinchoa has all 23 of its licensed beds contracted with the State under an ICAD convention, so a resident who entered the Ares do Pinhal programme through the public referral route pays a client contribution rather than the full fee. Privately funded places at Portuguese therapeutic communities are self-pay and typically cost €6,000 to €16,500 a month.
No price list was found on the association’s own pages, and the client contribution normally follows the resident from the Mação houses through to Rinchoa. Contact Ares do Pinhal on the admissions line for a quote tailored to your situation. The reintegration apartment at the same address is a supported-housing step and is not priced here.

Comunidade Terapêutica da Rinchoa Reviews
Feedback on Comunidade Terapêutica da Rinchoa from around the web is limited, and what exists tends to describe Ares do Pinhal as an organisation rather than the Sintra house on its own. RehabSeekers hosts reviews for this community, and anyone who completed the reintegration phase here, or stayed in the apartment that follows it, is welcome to share their experience.
The most useful accounts would cover the job search, the shift from a structured community to greater independence and how the team handled the transition to the Rinchoa or Caxias apartments. Comments about the first months of treatment belong with the Aldeia de Eiras house in Mação, which has its own page.
