Clarvida – Kingsport Reviews and Ratings
Before contacting Clarvida, it can help to read how patients and their families describe the program. Their reviews are collected in this section, along with reviews from around the web.
It was good while it lasted but they can't help me anymore. I am highly disappointed in this place.
On 7/2/2026, my 8 y/o son had a follow up appt with Laura Turpin, Med Management at Clarvida in Kingsport. This appt was meant to be a 30 min. that lasted 1.5 hrs in which Laura seemed uninterested in discussing my son.… I was initially hopeful and felt grateful for a provider with a holistic background. Laura Turpin was unprofessional, unethical, and repeatedly violated Clarvida’s Code of Conduct (which can be found on the corporate website). She stereotyped my family and parenting because I have a medically complex daughter. Laura spent majority of the appt attacking and questioning the way I parent my medically complex daughter, who is not her patient, nor a patient of Clarvida. She repeatedly made comments promoting exclusion of special needs and medically complex kiddos. She specifically told me, ‘Your daughter needs to suck it up, she is never going to get better’. The audacity of this is that she does not know my daughter, she is not involved in her medical care, I never asked for her opinion or advice regarding my medical motherhood, nor did I ever disclose the condition or diagnoses of my daughter. Laura continually sought to undermine my parenting and our family values IN FRONT of my son. Laura also claimed that due to being a medical mom, my relationship with my sons was unstable and unhealthy due to the fact that I have had to care for my daughter thru multiple surgeries and hospitalizations. She claimed that I have neglected my sons, are uncomfortable with me and women and would have more success with male providers and with their dad caring for them rather than me. This is unprofessional, unethical behavior and untrue. Laura also operated OUTSIDE her Scope of Practice as a Nurse Practitioner. I did not ask for her advice or opinion regarding parenting or being a medical mom and she is NOT a therapist. Therefore, wasting my son’s appt time to discuss a child that is not even her patient or Clarvida’s was inappropriate and a breach. Laura 100% violated Clarvida’s Code of Conduct. In my first appt, Laura seemed very confident that functional nutrition would be very helpful to my son. In our 2nd appt, she contradicted the guidance and education she gave me initially. Laura was pushing me to medicate my son. The more times I made comments of ‘I respectfully disagree or I’m not comfortable with that' She became increasing disrespectful, judgmental and rude to me…IN FRONT OF A CHILD. Rather than offering parent education about certain medications like stimulants and their effects on the neurodivergent brain she responded with, ‘they are actually a godsend for those that need them like myself.’ Laura made the comment multiple times, that if ‘That’s how I wanted to be than there was nothing that she could do or would do for my son.’ The tone of the conversation was one of do exactly what SHE wanted to do with MY child and do not ask any questions. She also stated that my son had depression even after going thru the depression questionnaire in which my son scored a 0, she still insisted that my son had depression. When I stated that, my son is absolutely NOT depressed and his nickname is the ‘family comedian’ she remarked, ‘how would I know or not because I am probably too busy caring for my daughter to realize.’ There is so much more that was said but for the sake of this complaint and review I will leave it at this. Clarvida serves a wide variety of families that have experienced trauma, abuse, and special needs kids. Laura Turpin has shown herself to be severely lacking the understanding, compassion, empathy and self-awareness to treat or even interact with this demographic of families within our community. I did attempt to resolve this the correct way with local Clarvida. I asked for a meeting w/ the Aaron Shankle, Director of Clarvida. Unfortunately, it has now been a week and leadership has not responded. This is unacceptable. Therefore, I have no choice but to report Laura Turpin and Aaron Shankle’s conduct and failures to Clarvida Corporate and leave this Review.
Absolutely horrible group of people that think they are better than everyone there employees dont know there policies and intake can call the correct # on the referral but the cant put it in the system for the… appointment then some random person cancels the appointment and the therapist leaves. For the day then the manager and desk person can't take accountability for a family driving an hour to go there. This company needs to fire the whole staff at this location and and start fresh as the people here will cause you to be the worst rated company in the field
Great people who really care.
Absolutely horrible!! Our daughter has been with Camelot for about 8-9 years now and we loved Tim as a provider. He always made sure our concerns were addressed and he was great with our daughter. Communication through… Edith however caused issues over the years. The second time Tim came back, it seemed to get better and things were smooth sailing until he left again. We absolutely loved Samantha which replaced him but Camelot ran her off too. Since Samantha left, we’ve not been able to get in for meds, no meds were sent in, and now Edith won’t call or text back. It’s ridiculous that your company can’t provide decent mental health for kids that need it the most. Our daughter has been without ADHD meds for 3 months now and all of her others meds are out as of tomorrow. But no one cares!! Do not go to Camelot or whatever their name is now! Find somewhere else.
Camelot is amazing.
My daughters therapist Heather was the blessing she needed. We tried frontier health for almost three years to help my daughter get through her struggle with the domestic violence that we lived through with my ex… husband and all frontier health did was make her worst. My daughters pcp highly recommended Camalot and we went there. Aaron did her assessment and was able to get her to open up about what’s bothering her in 45 minutes versus frontier health taking three years and making her worst. He paired her with heather and Heather transformed my daughter from a sad and hopeless feeling little girl to a very happy and confident little girl. Camalot gave me my happy little princess back and I could not be more happier with what they did. Thank you so much Camalot and Heather. You guys saved my little girl.
Edith is a nightmare to deal with. The constant changing of medication appointments, the lack of response, and the all around general care is neglectful. If she’s having that much trouble keeping up, then clearly they… need another person in there to help her. Absolutely ridiculous.
My daughter has been a client of Camelot for about 2 years now. Her counselor, Ashley, is amazing and so is her case manager, Richard. These are 2 people who have been a huge support for my family over the last 2 years.… Whether it's after-hours, weekend, middle of the day, I feel like my family's success is important to them. They have come to assist us several times when it was beyond their normal workload.
I was reffered her by my school and since i have been going to camelot i have notice a great change in my life for the better because of jill she is really great
I loved my therapist she helped me through domestic violence and PTSD.
Ben was great! I had a good time and met great friends. Thanks for making me feel comfortable.
Enlightening experience, Ben was wonderful and utilized many resources to create the experience.
They go above and beyond to assist with all needs. TN Health Link
I have struggled for years until I found my place here.
Your counselor Robert failed to protect my child from being physically and mentally abused. Never reported the abuse too the judge in my custody trial and wrote a letter to the judge belittling my character as a dad. If… anyone is referred too this center I'd recommend frontier health instead.
I can’t get them to return my phone call to even discuss if this place would be appropriate for my child.
Everyone here my fiance has worked with have been great. This is the only place she has ever felt to have helped her.
