About RehabSeekers.com

Most directories know an address. We know the place.

RehabSeekers.com is a US drug and alcohol treatment directory, with residential options abroad for people who choose to travel for care. It is built around one question families ask more than any other: where is this, and what is it like to be there? Every listing carries measured distances to the landmarks, coastline, airports and towns around it.

50 + DCevery US state and Washington, DC, down to individual neighborhoods

What we measure

The ground each facility stands on

Other directories stop at the ZIP code, or describe a location as “peaceful” or “rural.” We store each facility’s coordinates and measure what is actually around it.

Named landmarks, real distances

The named mountain range, beach, lake, river or park nearby, and exactly how far away it is.

Chalk Hills, mountain range: 8.6 miles

Coast and elevation

How far a facility is from the coast and how high above sea level it sits.

5.2 miles from the coast, 430 feet elevation

The airport you would fly into

The nearest major airport and the distance from it, for families traveling to visit.

San Diego International Airport: 6.7 miles

What is within reach

The towns and neighborhoods each facility can reasonably serve, so you can search from where you live, not just where the clinic is.

Nearest town: Lemon Grove, 2.7 miles

Neighborhood-level pages

A San Diego clinic is filed under North Park or Mission Beach as well as San Diego, so a local search finds the part of town you meant.

Rehab near you

Open any location page and we show the facilities closest to where you are right now, with the distance to each.

Closest to you: 0.3 miles away

Residential treatment usually means living somewhere for thirty, sixty or ninety days. Whether there is a mountain range outside the window, a beach within walking distance, or a city close enough for family visits changes how those weeks feel. People ask us about it constantly, so we measure it.

Setting is useful information, not a measure of clinical quality. A facility near the coast is not better at treatment because of it.

How listings are ordered

The same approach on every page

Every location page orders its listings the same way. Four things count.

Verified status

Listings checked by our editorial review team carry more weight.

Reputation

Google ratings and reviews left on RehabSeekers.com, combined into the one score shown on the facility’s own page.

Setting

The named places measurably close to the facility.

Levels of care

The range of care a provider offers.

What we don’t do

Independent, and plain about it

  • No commissions or referral fees. We are not paid when you contact or choose a facility.
  • No call centers. Phone numbers on RehabSeekers.com go straight to the facility, not to a sales line.
  • No owners in the industry. RehabSeekers.com is not owned by any treatment provider.
  • Reviews shown as written. We don’t curate reviews or remove them on request.
  • No unlabeled paid placement. Verified is a status providers apply for, and it means our editorial review team has checked their license and listing details. If we ever offer paid placement, the word “Featured” will appear on the listing itself, and it will never change the clinical, licensing or accreditation information shown.
What a listing tells you

What we show, and where it comes from

Listings are built from public treatment registers, accreditation records and information from facilities themselves. We don’t inspect facilities, and we don’t claim to. Instead, each listing shows what is on record for that provider, so you can see it and check it yourself.

  • Federal register listing. For US facilities, whether the facility appears in the federal treatment register, and the date of that record.
  • Accreditation. Joint Commission and CARF accreditation where it is on record for that provider.
  • Verified status. Where a listing is marked Verified, our editorial review team has checked the provider’s license and its listing details. Verified status does not mean endorsement or guarantee of quality, outcomes, or suitability.
  • Services, payment and insurance. Levels of care, therapies and the payment options on record, including Medicaid and state plans such as Medi-Cal and TennCare, Medicare, TRICARE and private insurance.
  • Standards differ by state and country. Each US state licenses treatment programs through its own agency, such as the California Department of Health Care Services or the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. Outside the US the rules differ again, so we describe each place on its own terms.
  • Corrections. If something on a listing is wrong, tell us and we will update it.

Treatment abroad

For Americans considering residential care overseas

Some people choose to leave home for residential treatment, for distance from daily triggers, privacy, cost or setting. Our international listings are for them: English-speaking travelers weighing a program in Spain, Portugal, Thailand or elsewhere, not local residents looking for services near home.

Measured the same way

International listings carry the same geography as US ones: the coast, the landmarks nearby and the international airport you would fly into.

Alicante, Spain: 1.9 miles from the coast, 10.7 miles from the airport

Different rules apply

US state licensing and US insurance do not follow you abroad. Each international listing shows what is on record locally, so you can ask the right questions before you travel.

Who it’s for

For people looking for help, and the people beside them

Looking for treatment can feel overwhelming and urgent. RehabSeekers.com is built to make that search calmer and clearer, whether you are looking for yourself, a partner, a parent or a child, or signposting someone as a professional.

Alongside the directory, our free guides explain addiction and mental health conditions, types of treatment, how to pay for care and how to support someone you love, in plain English and without scare tactics.
