Embark at Bend is such a valuable resource for the community.
We had a wonderful experience with Embark. It was a big decision to send my 13 year old daughter from NY to Oregon. Having spent nearly three months there, I never had to feel concerned for her safety or well-being. The… staff at this facility is truly caring and professional, they kept us in the loop every step of the way. It was the first time that my daughter was receptive to therapy and gained valuable DBT skills while she was there. From phone calls, to visiting, and attending workshops, the staff was always unbelievably welcoming, knowledgeable and patient. Thank you to Alyssa, Molly, Stephanie, Maryanne and Jack and everyone else there who made my daughter feel comfortable and safe.
I stayed at embark in bend last year for treatment while I was there on my first day I say that they truly didnt care all that much on how they effected me or the other children there although the staff that worked with… me that stayed in the house where mostly amazing aside from some they really didn't understand and only took the time to get to know some of the children I was not one of them the house is not at all what it seems the doors will be locked most of the time to our bedrooms and will only give a couple minutes of grace periods to get stuff that you might need for the rest of the day they will provide you with stuff in a bag like an eye mask for the light that they will shine in your eyes at least every 30 minutes while you try and sleep and that was not mentioned on the website... the team had an interaction with a nother child while I was there in my room that I shared with the other child while that kid was getting stuff ready for their shower they where going into there shoe bin the team asked what they where getting and they replied nothing but they grabbed a peice of glass that they took from outside witch I have no idea how they got in inside from the pocket checks that we have to do every time we even go outside of to school and they knew that they had the glass and all they said was "if you put it back we will not take it" so they knew that they had this so they could harm themselves but they also didn't take it away what part of this is recovering and healing while I was there was also not aloud to go on outing as well as everyone else other then two people in that house they said that we would go on outing to the store or house back riding but before you could do all that you would have to level up some levels the entire thing was weird and uncomfortable not to mention when they decided to kick me out Becuse my insurance didn't approve enough time that would be worth there while they came and picked me up from the school building and not telling me what of where I was going they dropped me off back out the house and didn't let me back inside and then they told me I was upset Becuse I wanted to recover and I couldn't Becuse what they where doing but when I got my suitcase they had just thrown everything in there my shampoo and body wash and other personal hygiene products where busted open and leaking all over my clothes but all other things where missing like my clothes and my mom emailed them and all they could come up with is that they couldn't get my stuff back Becuse other children claimed them as there's and that they didn't want to clause more trauma to them so I never saw those clothes again other people before me that either got kicked out of left after their time there where what felt like black listed they where not aloud to talk about the children that got kicked out or if they did they where told that they can't talk about them over all my experience there was not good and I would have for other children to go through the same stuff please before enrolling your kids here find a different option
The staff are amazing. They are professional, caring and warm.
My 10 year old daughter, now 11, spent 5 months at Embark Bend, OR and it was both the hardest and best choice I've ever made for her (and the family). Nothing we had tried until then had made any difference and home… life was incredibly stressful for all family members. They answered all my questions, kept me updated, responded quickly to any questions or concerns and gave my daughter the 24/7 support and guidance she needed. By staying in the residential program, she gained experience practicing learned coping skills when interacting with the other children (and adult counselors) at all hours of the day, while being supervised and supported. Along with going on various outings, she participated in equine therapy and took her turn caring for the bunnies. She received individual, group, and family therapy. After reaching her goals, we received support on how to transition her back home, what to expect, and how to engage with her during disregulated times. Our expectations were realistic, knowing that disregulation will still occur at times. Which it has. But I see her actively practicing her coping skills and outbursts are shorter, less frequent, and less intense. She is able to have a normal conversation now instead of shutting down any attempt to discuss her behaviors or emotions. Is it perfect? No. Is it improvement and are we so incredibly proud of her? YES! We now have her in an Embark's stepdown PHP program where she gets to come home every day! I am so thankful for Embark and there are just no words to express the relief and gratitude I feel.
Embark in Oregon was an amazing experience for us! They were very knowledgeable and helpful.
Even though we were at Bend for a short time, the empathy, care and patience that all of the staff had with my daughter and myself was unmatched. We were taken care of every step of the way. Thank you for all that you… did for my daughter and I!
I stayed at embark bh in bend for 90 days back in January to April, Embark let me see others point of views and learn healthy communication skills, I’ll forever be grateful for all the connections and opportunities I… had there. I highly recommend embark to anyone looking for residential treatment. I could tell everyone working there genuinely cared and wanted the best for you and your peers. I cannot thank embark enough for all they did for me and my family.
I very much enjoyed my tour of the campus. The staff teams were all very friendly and outgoing. The facilities were all very well cared for and clean. Our lunch was also very good. Thanks for sharing your program and… facility with me.
My child just got home from 90 days at Embark Bend and I would 100% recommend it to anyone looking for intensive help/therapy for your child. I was very anxious and nervous about the whole situation and it being out of… state, but my worries were put to ease once we were there. Everyone working there was extremely kind and welcoming and genuinely seemed to like being there. The staff were supportive and patient with my child and supportive of me as well along the way. I was also able to visit and attend parent workshops that were very informative and helpful. I truly felt that my child was loved and cared for there. I can definitely see that it was a beneficial experience and progress has been made. We still have a long road to go, but after the experience we had we are definitely on the right track. So thankful for everyone there.
Had a very positive experience at Embark Bend with my adolescent. From the day I dropped them off, I felt good about my choice here. The staff were wonderful. The structure was great. After staying 90 days, I can see a… real positive difference in how things will look as we move forward. Highly recommend.
My daughter just returned home after 70 days at Embark in Bend, Oregon, and I would highly recommend this treatment center to any family. Unfortunately, my daughter made minimal progress, but this is due to her own… resistance, as well as a complicated and unaligned family dynamic. The program, and the caring staff, were helpful and supportive from Day 1. I was in contact with them frequently because my daughter is not speaking to me, and they were communicative, and so understanding. From Mimi during the enrollment process, to the two therapists, first Caroline, then Audrey, to the Special Education Director, Maryann, and residential staff like Brianne, I was always able to get updates, talk through my worries, and discuss strategies and solutions. When meetings were necessary, both before and during my daughter’s time to there, Stephanie and Deveney were so professional and very helpful. I wish my daughter could have stayed and continued making progress, but as I mentioned, the situation and family dynamics are very difficult. It is the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced, to have one of my children out of state and away for so long, but please know, Embark can be trusted to care for your child and connect with your family, in an effort to bring healing. I am so grateful for them.
This facility was a real saving grace for us. They worked with our daughter closely and she really got a handle on her anxiety and using newly learned coping skills. The online school and her teacher Mary Ann kept… really helped her in ELA and I could not be more grateful. The journey isn’t over but the parent group after discharge helps me out!!
As a parent with total reservation about residential treatment on the other side of the country, I cannot say enough good things about this program. We trusted the team at Embark with our child and they supported us… before, during and after. Everyone at Embark was kind, accessible, responsive and caring. Our daughter bonded with the clinical staff and residential staff. She was well cared for, challenged and supported. As a family, we were cared for too. We were able to visit multiple times and participate in the treatment. We all grew from this experience. I would not hesitate for one minute to send my child to Devaney and her amazing team. They have changed all of our lives. I am forever grateful for the experience we had with Embark Behavioral Health in Bend, OR. It was life changing. They truly understand how to approach children and families in crisis and help to create a path forward with hope, structure and love. I never thought we would need their services, but I am so thankful we found them.
I strongly recommend this place to anyone who is having a child struggling with mental health. It is a transformative experience and has been nothing short of a miracle. The staff is very responsive and caring.
